Dollish Polish Super Mario Brothers Collection: 1-Up

2 coats Dollish Polish 1-Up over 2 coats Sally Hansen Orange Impulse

I should have posted this awhile ago, but it got lost in the shuffle. Dollish Polish came out with their Super Mario Brothers collection a few months ago, and the only full sized bottle left when I was buying was 1-Up so I had to buy it. It's full of medium and tiny kelly green glitter with white hexagonal, square and bar glitter in a clear base. It wasn't too densely packed so I used two coats which is shown above. You can find Dollish Polish on her site, or through Llarowe, which currently has this in stock.

Zoya Summer 2012 Surf Collection: Zuza

Zoya Zuza (2 coats)

Hola! How is your weekend so far? We went and looked a several more houses, and we have 2 that we really like. We shall see if they actually make the final cut.

Can you tell I love blues? Pretty much every polish I bought from Zoya had blue, except for Meg. Zuza didn't disappoint and is an aqua blue foil shimmer that Zoya does so well. I feel my pictures make it look a little dull, but believe me, it's gorgeous. I know summer is over in my neck of the woods, but that wouldn't stop me from wearing this one. The formula and application was flawless as well.

Oh, and I got a break really far down in my middle finger so I had to cut my nails down. You'll probably see the long nails for a bit longer due to my photo backlog, but I'm just warning you that changes are coming :-D

Zoya Spring 2012 True Collection: Skylar

Zoya Skylar (2 coats)

Quick post tonight because my parents are in town for the weekend! Yup, I get to enjoy home-cooked meals and I am very excited.

Zoya Skylar comes from the spring collection and is a slate blue color with silver and gold shimmer. I love that the shimmer is quite strong in this one, and you can see it at all times. I have nothing bad to say about the formula and application either! All in all, it's a big winner!

Zoya Fall 2012 Designer Collection: Evvie

Zoya Evvie (2 coats)

Hi guys, I had a little time before seminar, so I thought I'd post a little something. I spent the morning playing with arsenic (yay for being a soil scientist!) so that's always fun. Everything else has been pretty boring for me lately.

What's not boring is Evvie, which was created by designer Peter Som for his fall collection. It's a mix of dark grey and teal and is quite a unique color. I love looking at polishes that you're not sure what they are when you first glance at them. I wasn't a huge fan of the other colors in this collection, but Evvie is pretty awesome. The application and formula was great, and was opaque in 2 coats. Lovely!

Zoya Fall 2012 Diva Collection: FeiFei

Zoya FeiFei (3 coats)

Despite the name, Zoya really knocked it out of the park with FeiFei. Whenever I hear FeiFei, I immediately think of a dog, but alas, it's a stunning polish. Zoya says it's a medium steel blue base with heavy gold, blue and pink iridescent metallic sparkle, and I could not describe it any better than that. When I first saw it in the bottles, I was a bit disappointed, but when it's swatched, all of the different colors really stand out. The formula was fine, but it was a bit sheer, so 3 coats is a must. I don't have anything like this in my ever-expanding collection, so I definitely think this is one to purchase. If you feel like you can wait, Zoya often has discount codes to save you some money.

Zoya Summer 2012 Surf Collection: Meg

Zoya Meg (2 coats)

If you still have a Sally's Beauty Supply open, you may want to stop there today to look at their clearance section since it is 50% all red clearance items. I got 5 of the China Glaze Safari colors for $1.85 each! They actually weren't on the clearance table, but when I looked at them in their usual spot, I noticed they had red tags on them. The rest of the selection was pretty picked over already, so I just got those 5 colors.

Now this is what Zoya is really good at! Meg is a yellow-based apple green foil (that's a mouthful) that is so pretty. Zoya has a few other yellow-based greens like this such as Apple and Midori, to name a few. The application was ok, but not the best. Overall, I find these foils very attractive, and if you're a green lover like me, this one should be on your list to buy.

Zoya Summer 2012 Beach Collection: Wednesday

Zoya Wednesday (2 coats)

Happy Saturday! It's a bright, sunny day in North Carolina and all is well. I hope you weekend is off to a good start. I think some Chinese food may be in order for today, as well as some grocery shipping stuff...you know, exciting stuff. There's a food truck festival that we may be going to tomorrow, so that should be fun. I know larger cities have food trucks, and I'm so jealous. It looks like it is finally catching on around here, thank goodness.

When I first saw Zoya's Wednesday, I thought of China Glaze For Audrey. They are both beautiful turquoise creams, but I found Wednesday to be a bit darker with more green in it. I don't find them to be dupes, but they are similar. It is also in the same vein as BB Couture Hangover Blues, but that one contains shimmer in it. Wednesday isn't completely unique, but it is different enough to warrant the purchase. I'm always a fan of turquoise polishes and jewelry, so I had to get this one.

China Glaze Spring 2012 Prismatic Collection: Ray-diant

China Glaze Ray-diant (2 coats)

*yawn* I am so sleepy today. Mr. Nose (my cat) was being a pain during the middle of the night and decided he had to knock everything over that he possibly could. Nope, no reason for it, and they definitely had enough food. Eventually my husband had to chuck him out of the room for being annoying, and Mr. Nose was basically expecting it because when my husband got up, he immediately high-tailed it out of the room. Grr, I love that cat, but he's gotta let me get my beauty sleep! Oh, and I want to give a little plug to The Polishaholic blog because she posts about Barkbox and how her little Dachshund responds to each item. If you haven't checked it out, it's on her blog today.

Ray-diant is the second polish from the Prismatic collection and is a little harder to tell what the main color is due to the multi-colored glitter dispersed through the polish. It has a faint green/gold hue to it, but I think I like Prism better. Again, I was really happy it only needed 2 coats, but the removal is a real pain unless you use the foil method. Overall, I still think these polishes are really interesting and unique. Apparently Wet N Wild had polishes just like these, but they never made it around to my area.

Jessica Cosmetics Fall 2012 Spicy Dream Collection: Gingersnap

Jessica Cosmetics Gingersnap (2 coats)

Hi everyone! I hope your week has been going well. Mine's been fine; just work as usual. I can't believe I leave for Cambodia in about 3 weeks! I need to start thinking about what I'm going to post here while I'm gone. I bought a ton of new Sinful Colors at Walgreens a couple weeks ago, so you may see some of those. I still have to swatch some of the Sally Hansen Magnetic collection, too.

I finally have the last of the Spicy Dream collection that is very similar to Pumpkin Delight called Gingersnap. It is a duochrome of bronze/brown with strong gold accents. You can also see some burgundy in there if you look closely. I really love this type of polishes and I wish there were more out there. Overall, this collection is mostly a hit, with only a couple misses (in my opinion). You can find these online and they will set you back $7.50 each.

China Glaze Spring 2012 Prismatic Glitters Collection: Prism

China Glaze Prism (2 coats)

Gah, guess what this girl didn't do? Yup, I forgot to add the pictures from the last Jessica Cosmetics polish to my computer, so I guess you guys are going to be stuck with an old one tonight. The Prismatic collection came out ages ago, but I just got a few from the last Sally's Beauty Supply sale. Prism is a purple/blue duochrome with lots of different colored glitters added in there. I love the depth that the other colors bring to the polish, and it makes it seem less boring. The formula was a tiny bit thick, but that's due to how heavily glittered this sucker is....2 coats was enough for opacity. I'm loving these!

Jessica Cosmetics Fall 2012 Spicy Dream Collection: Champagne Bubbles

Jessica Cosmetics Champagne Bubbles (2 coats)

Man, I just woke up from sleeping off a terrible headache. I have no idea what has been happening lately, but I rarely get headaches. I wouldn't mind if this stopped immediately.

I had high hopes for Champagne Bubbles from looking at the bottle, but it was a bit disappointing on the nail. It's a champagne and silver colored foil that I thought would look a bit more like Pumpkin Delight, but you really can't see the particles as well since the color is lighter. It's not really bad, but not as exciting as I'd hoped. The application and formula was like the rest of the collection (slightly thick and needing only 2 coats).

Jessica Cosmetics Fall 2012 Spicy Dream Collection: Brown Sugar

Jessica Cosmetics Brown Sugar (2 coats)

Woot, it's the weekend! I just woke up at noon and started watching Ohio State football...all is well with the world. What are you doing?

I must admit that Brown Sugar is easily my least favorite of the collection. It's a red-based chocolate color with a fine sprinkling of silver shimmer that makes it lean toward a frost. I'm sure there's a market out there for this color, but it's just not for me. The formula was like the rest of the collection which was slightly thick, but not an issue.

Jessica Cosmetics Fall 2012 Spicy Dream Collection: Cinnamon Kiss

Jessica Cosmetics Cinnamon Kiss (2 coats)

Quick post tonight because I need to catch up on America's Got Talent since it's the finale. I know, I can't believe I still watch it either.

Cinnamon Kiss is probably tied for my second favorite of the collection. Upon first glance, it looks similar to one of the OPI Germany collection polishes called German-icure, but I don't have both to compare. Cinnamon Kiss is a vampy blackened red shimmer that has a bit of gold if you look at the bottom of the bottle (it doesn't translate very well on the nail). The formula and application was great, as usual.

Jessica Cosmetics Fall 2012 Spicy Dream Collection: Pumpkin Delight

Jessica Cosmetics Pumpkin Delight (2 coats)

Blarg, for the past 2 days I've had one of those headaches that won't go away, even with ibuprofin. Some people seem to think this is from the weather changes, but I'm a little dubious. Hopefully a good night of sleep will help tonight.

Pumpkin Delight is probably my favorite of the collection. It is a foil duochrome that changes from a copper red to gold depending on the angle. The formula was again a little thick, but not enough to need thinner. I think we need more unique foils like this one for the fall, what do you think?

Jessica Cosmetics Fall 2012 Spicy Dream Collection: Crimson Tattoo

Jessica Cosmetics Crimson Tattoo (2 coats)

Yes, fall collections are all around us. I haven't bought too many yet, but I'm sure things will change once the weather decides to cool down. This hasn't stopped me from buying candy corn already though-oops!

Jessica Cosmetics has released a fall collection called Spicy Dream which is a pretty terrible name if you ask me. Despite the name, it is full of fall goodness. Up first is Crimson Tattoo which is dark vampy red jelly. With the first coat, you can easily see the red in it, but the second really blackens it up. I like it, but I wish it were a little lighter-colors this dark make it hard to capture on my camera. The formula was a little thick, but fine otherwise.

Revlon Colorstay: Blue Slate

Revlon Blue Slate (2 coats)

Did anyone watch Coma last week? I'm just getting around to it, and the first night was pretty good. My mom apparently wasn't as happy with the second night, so the jury is still out on it.

I found this Revlon Colorstay on sale at my local Target a couple weeks ago. I think this is my first Colorstay polish, but I'm already a fan of their regular line. They definitely have the widest variety of colors of the main drugstore makeup brands. Blue Slate is a dusty blue creme, and you guys know how much I love my dusty colors. The formula and application was great, and only needed 2 coats to fully cover the nail. I'm a fan! I don't know why this one was on clearance, but I hope they don't discontinue it. Have any of you heard any word on this? Thanks!

Indie Brands: Hare Polish in The Sky was Pink

Hare Polish The Sky was Pink (3 coats)

Hola! I actually got this one before the other 2 Hare Polishes I showed, but my husband wiped the SD card on the camera to a flash drive and I forgot about it. No worries, I found it, and am ready to show The Sky was Pink to you. I am a huge fan of Hare Polish, but the price point stops me from buying them all (they are around $10-$13, depending on where you buy it). Oh, and they are really hard to get a hold of. The Sky was Pink is a bright pink color with tons of blue and purple glitter. The application was fine, but needed 3 coats since the pink isn't too opaque. I love Hare Polishes and want them all!
