CG Solar Power

China Glaze Solar Power (3 coats)

First off, I'm happy to say that I will have a bit of a surprise in store for you. Since today is such a big day for my blog, I'm going to go ahead and spill the beans. Orly was kind enough to send me a few samples from their upcoming Sweet Spring 2010 Collection. This collection contains some beautiful creme pastel colors!

*thanks to A Polish Problem for the picture*

I won't tell you what two colors I received, so please check back tomorrow for some swatches!

On to today, Solar Power comes from the China Glaze Ecollection. This is the only polish I have from this collection, but they all look really nice. I honestly only have a few yellow polishes. This is partly due to the hard and streaky application but also because it sometimes clashes with my skintone. Solar Power did have a little issue with application (a little thick and was streaky for the first two coats), but overall I've had worse problems with yellow polishes. It's definitely a bright yellow color and seems to have some orange in it to give that taxi yellow color. If you look really close, you can see a bit of a shimmer to it which really added a little depth to the polish.

Welcome!

I wanted to quickly thank Brooke from Getcha Nails Did for adding me to her New Blogs on the Block section! To those of you new to my blog, welcome! I just love nail polish and hope you find some new polishes to add to your wish list. I am still at school (and will be for a bit), but I will have some new NOTD swatches up soon! Again, thanks for stopping by!

Atlantis

China Glaze Atlantis (3 coats)

Man, why did I take so long to use this polish?! Atlantis comes from the China Glaze Glitters Collection which contains some really great glitters. It is a teal or aqua colored jelly with lots of holographic glitter throughout. Hopefully the bottom picture shows how sparkly this polish really is (I hardly ever call things sparkly...am I in a Stephenie Meyer book?). Anyway, this is an awesome polish and I got several compliments on it. Application was pretty much like most glitters. It was slightly thick and needed three coats to be opaque.

Sally Hansen Marble Creme

Sally Hansen Marble Creme (3 coats)

Today is the other Sally Hansen polish I bought at the Dollar Tree called Marble Creme. It looks a little similar to the color I showed yesterday called Mosaic Creme. Marble Creme is more of a dusty sky blue whereas Mosaic has lots more purple in it. Application and formula were exactly the same as for the polish yesterday (a little runny and needed a full 3 coats for full coverage). Overall this is a nice light blue creme. If you get the chance, try to get out to the Dollar Tree or other discount stores since you never know what kind of cheap gems you can find out there.

Also, right now Walgreens has lots of polishes buy 1 get 1 1/2 off. The Sally Hansen Salon polishes are only $1.79 right now as well.

Mosaic Creme

Sally Hansen Mosaic Creme (3 coats)

I ended up going to the Dollar Tree near me last week and picked up five new polishes. They mostly had Maybelline's and old Sally Hansen polishes, but there were quite a few to choose from. Mosaic Creme is a dusty blue creme that contains all of the of the chemicals since it is an older polish. The formula was pretty runny, but it didn't make the application too hard. I really liked this more than I thought I would. Now if only Sally Hansen would stop discontinuing awesome polishes...
