Right on the Nail ~ Polish 'M Winter 2015 Swatches and Review: Gingerbread Cookies

Polish 'M Gingerbread Cookies (2 coats)

Happy New Year (almost)! My parents have been in town and we watched Star Wars for the second time. It was still good! You may not be aware that Polish 'M released their winter collection and that's because it was only released at 2 restocks. I only bought 4 of the polishes so I don't have all of them to show you. Also, Michelle just mentioned on Facebook that she is going to change pretty much everything about her company in 2016. There will be smaller number of polishes in collections (2-5) that are not necessarily seasonal, all polishes will be now be limited edition with 1 batch made (30 or 60 bottles), and there will be no more core polishes (all of them will be discontinued in the new year). I'm sure there are more changes, so check Facebook to learn more. I hope this makes everything easier for Michelle.

Tonight I have the color Gingerbread Cookies to share with you. It's a grey taupe base with tons of bronze shimmer and multichrome flakes. I think this is a really interesting take on a neutral color. I've never had an issue with the formula on Polish 'M polishes, and this is no different. Gingerbread Cookies only needed 2 easy coats.

Have a fun and safe New Years Eve tonight! You can find Polish 'M on their storeFacebookInstagram, and Facebook Group (which I am a part of!) pages.

Right on the Nail ~ Philly Loves Lacquer Mystery Trio: Single Bottle Prototypes

Hi guys! I know I've been a terrible blogger this past week. With all of the traveling, baking, and wrapping presents, I didn't have the time for blogging. I had a great Christmas, and my parents will be coming in to town tomorrow to celebrate with them. I hope you had a fun and safe holiday season as well. Tonight I have a mystery trio from Philly Loves Lacquer that I've been been sitting on since Halloween. I've known about this brand for years, but for some reason did not get around to buying them until now.

Right on the Nail ~ Morgan Taylor Holiday 2015 Gifted With Style Collection Swatches and Reviews Part II

Hi guys! Sorry for the lack of post yesterday, but I was at a Christmas party. It was fun, but I got home way too late. Tonight I have the final 2 polishes from the Gifted With Style Collection from Morgan Taylor. And dare I say, they are my favorite of the collection. Follow me after the break to see more.

Right on the Nail ~ Morgan Taylor Holiday 2015 Gifted With Style Collection Mini Set Swatches and Reviews

Hi guys! Today felt like Friday for some reason which is really disappointing since it is only Wednesday. Oh, did I tell you that I'm going back to Cambodia in January? I'm a huge fan of Cambodia and this will be my 4th time going there. I usually have pictures of the local beauty shop I go to while I'm there, so keep your eyes peeled for that next month. Tonight I have the holiday mini set from Morgan Taylor to show you. The whole Gifted With Style collection is 6 pieces, so I'll just be showing the other 2 later this week. Let's see what we have going on here...

Right on the Nail ~ CND Rouge Red Stocking Stuffer Kit Swatches and Review

*press sample*

CND Rouge Red (2 coats)

If you are interested in trying the CND Vinulux system, there are a few stocking stuffers available that may pique your interest. The Rouge Red kit includes full-sized versions of the Rouge Red color with the weekly topcoat as well as 2 oz of the Scrub Fresh which is basically a nail prep cleaner for your nails before you apply polish. I used every part of this set before my trip to Minneapolis and I had zero chips during my 6 days away. Listen, I am so impressed with this nail system. Rouge Red is a bright red creme that is perfect for this holiday season. The formula and application were absolutely flawless, but make sure to use a light hand with the topcoat because it can sometimes get a little streaky.

Right now you can get this 3-piece set at Loxa Beauty for only $19.98. CND polishes normally retail for $10.50 and are a little hard to find. You can sometimes find them at Ulta, or any time online at popular e-tailers such as Loxa Beauty (who also happen to have Morgan Taylor and OPI polishes you can buy without the need of a license). Find more about CND on their FacebookTwitter and Instagram pages.

*These polishes were provided by the company or PR representative. All reviews are based solely on my opinion. For more information, please see my full disclosure at the bottom of the site*

Right on the Nail ~ Polish 'M Limited Edition Nail Polish Swatches and Review: Burnt Marshmallow

Polish 'M Burnt Marshmallow (2 coats)

Hi guys! Tonight I have a limited edition polish from Polish 'M that is unfortunately sold out. Michelle said that she may have it back again next year so don't despair! The 2015 version of Burnt Marshmallow is different than the 2014 version which had less glitter and more of a white base. Here it has an off-white (almost grey?) crelly base with black, brown, gold, and bronze hexagonal glitter and gold shimmer. It really hits those toasted marshmallow notes, right? I, personally, really love burning my marshmallows and eating the outside. How do you like your marshmallows? I find that Polish 'M polishes consistently have a great formula, even those with lots of glitter in them. This somehow only needed 2 easy coats.

You can find Polish 'M on their storeFacebookInstagram, and Facebook Group (which I am a part of!) pages.

Right on the Nail ~ Rainbow Honey Cosmetics Mystery Bag Nail Polish Swatches and Reviews

Hi guys! I can't believe it's Wednesday already. Two of my cats (I have 3) went to the vet today and they are in good health. They are 10 years old and it shocks me every time I think about it. Mr. Nose is the biggest ham and loves going to the vet because he loves the extra attention. They ended up taking pictures of him to put on their Facebook page...he's that much of a goofball. In nail polish news, I just recently stopped my Rainbow Honey Mystery Bag subscription. It is definitely one I would go back to as soon as I pare down on some of my untrieds. Some of these colors are older, but I'm pretty sure they are still available. Let's get started, shall we?

Right on the Nail ~ Polish 'M Chills and Thrills Collaboration Box Review and Swatches: Chills & Thrills

Polish 'M Chills & Thrills (2 coats) over 2 coats of white polish

Hi guys! Unfortunately the polish I have to show tonight is not available anymore (it wasn't around long and was only a part of the Chills & Thrills Collaboration box). It may be available next year since Michelle tends to bring back popular polishes so keep your eyes out. I bought a couple Polish 'M colors from the Holiday Collection during Black Friday so I hope to have those up on the blog soon as well. Chills & Thrills is a glitter topper with pretty much every size and shape of glitter (hexagonal, circular, moons, stars, triangles, etc.) and a really strong gold flash. The shimmer is sort of hard to see in pictures, but it is really noticeable in person. It is very glitter dense polish, so I found the best technique to apply it was to dab it on. You will need a really thick topcoat and likely 2 coats of it to smooth this out.

You can find Polish 'M on their storeFacebookInstagram, and Facebook Group (which I am a part of!) pages.

Right on the Nail ~ Julep Maven Nail Polish Reviews and Swatches Part II

Hi guys! It's finally Friday! Scraggles is doing much better now, thank goodness. I'm almost finished with the second season of the Great British Baking Show on PBS and I am smitten. It is such a great show. No spoilers, but I want Tamal to win. Anyway, tonight I have the final 3 polishes from the Julep Maven boxes to show you. Let's go, shall we?

Right on the Nail ~ Julep Maven Nail Polish Reviews and Swatches

Hi guys! Scraggles (my little terrier mix) has been feeling under the weather today so I had to take her to the vet. She should be fine, but they had to give her fluids, an anti-vomiting shot, and some antibiotics for her GI tract. Keep her in your thoughts. On a lighter note, I have a ton of old Julep nail polishes to review. You will notice several different nail lengths mostly due to these being applied at various times...I hope you don't mind. Come with me after the break to see what I have in store tonight.

Right on the Nail ~ Laquered Up Chills and Thrills Collaboration Box Review and Swatches: Diamond in the Ruff

Laquered Up Diamond in the Ruff (3 coats)

I've been a bad blogger lately, sorry. The whole holiday thing last week really through everything off. Not to worry, I'm back and better than ever. Well, I'm as good as I was before at least. I broke a nail this morning so maybe I'm not even as good...who knows. Either way, I'M BACK! Let's just leave it at that.

Last month I bought a collaboration box called Chills and Thrills from Michelle at Polish 'M where proceeds went to the Fresno Pit Bull Rescue. If it's polish for a good cause, I'm all for it. The box contained several items that were donated by companies to be put in the Chills and Thrills box. Yes, Laquered Up donated the polish I'm showing today called Diamond in the Ruff (cute name!) and I think that that is such a great gesture. It's a beautiful bronze color with a sprinkling of multichrome flakes. Laquered Up offer both mini and full-sized bottles in their shop and I am showing the mini bottle (7 mL). I am actually really impressed with the bottle and the brush; most of the time the brushes are really small and I have to dip into the bottle several times per nail which is annoying. I found that this one was a nice size overall. The application and consistency were perfect on both accounts. I used 3 coats for the swatches above, but I didn't find the polish to be overly sheer or anything.

You can find out more about Laquered Up on their website or on their Instagram pages.

Right on the Nail ~ FingerPaints Nail Color Swatches and Reviews: Hollywood Decadence and Magritte's Masterpiece

Long time no see! I know, I've been really bad about blogging this week. My family came into town on Tuesday and I've been busy with Thanksgiving festivities. I didn't go out shopping today, but we did go see Mockingjay Part 2 this evening. I've been trying to be good about my polish purchases today with all of these Black Friday indie sales. So far I've only bought from Polish 'M (a few core colors and holiday polishes) and Ever After (my very first ones). Don't worry, I will be posting those as soon as I get them...some bottle pictures and swatches will likely show up on Instagram and Twitter as well ;) Tonight I have some random pictures of some FingerPaints I got from Sally's Beauty Supply the last couple months. Follow me after the break to learn more.

Right on the Nail ~ CND Vinylux Aurora 2015 Holiday Collection Swatches and Reviews

*press samples*

So it's Monday again. On the bright side, many in the US have a short work week with it being Thanksgiving. I remember when I was in high school and worked at the local video store and had to work on every holiday including Thanksgiving and Christmas. I must say it is nice to work at a university and to get the main holidays off. Tonight I have the four-piece CND Vinylux holiday collection to show you. I hear that those up north are getting upwards of 10 inches of snow so I guess winter is here in some parts of the US. Follow me after the break to view some more swatches from the collection and to see my thoughts on the polishes.

Right on the Nail ~ JINsoon Nail Polish Swatches and Review: Cool Blue

Jin Soon Cool Blue (2 coats)

*press sample*

Happy Saturday! I was going to do a rather large post on some brand new holiday polishes, but since viewership is usually slower on the weekend I decided to put it off until Monday. Until then, I have a beautiful color from the brand JINsoon to show you. Cool Blue is a bright cobalt blue creme that applied seamlessly. I mean, I would expect for it to apply well for $18 a polish, I really should add a matte topcoat because I think this would look fantastic mattified. It also has that fun bottle where the top comes off (like Butter London, but more square instead of rectangular). You can find this polish and others at Sephora or Nordstrom.

Right on the Nail ~ Deborah Lippmann Swatches and Reviews: Chasing Pavements and Like Dreamers Do

I'm back, sort of. My flight back to NC was delayed 4 hours so I didn't get home until after 4 AM. There was a ton of socializing and work this week which has really exhausted me. Tonight I have a couple of polishes from the famous Hollywood manicurist Deborah Lippmann that I got on sale at the Sephora inside JC Penny.

Right on the Nail ~ Polish 'M Special Group Custom Polish and Review: Tangled Webs

Polish 'M Tangled Webs (3 coats)

Greetings from Minneapolis! I'm a little overly excited that my hotel has Peter Thomas Roth products in the bathroom! PETER THOMAS ROTH! Today I have an exclusive product that was released to the Facebook Fan Group for Polish 'M. If you like any polish brands, especially indie brands, see if they have a fan group because you'll often find discounts, limited edition group customs, and information straight from the maker. I know I am a little behind in posting this Halloween polish, but this is more to raise awareness of the special polishes you can get. Tangled Webs is a purple fuchsia jelly with green, orange, and black glitter. I found it to be really sheer (some people may need 4 coats if they have really long nails) but it's totally worth it!

You can find Polish 'M on their storeFacebookInstagram, and Facebook Group (which I am a part of!) pages.

Right on the Nail ~ KBShimmer Fall 2015 Collection Swatches and Reviews: I've Seen Sweater Days and Open Toad Shoes

Happy Friday! I leave for Minneapolis tomorrow and I have the usual airport jitters. I guess it is just the stress of getting there on time, fretting about not forgetting something, and the conference I'm going to. Luckily I have no issues with flying itself. Anyway, I am trying to spend some time tonight setting up some drafts so you guys have something pretty to look at while I'm away. I've Seen Sweater Days and Open Toad Shoes are the final 2 KBShimmer polishes I have to show you, so follow me after the break for more swatches.

Right on the Nail ~ KBShimmer Fall 2015 Swatches and Reviews: Carpe Denim and Dark & Twisty

Happy Veteran's Day! I had to work today, but I know a lot of you had the day off. I told you a week or 2 ago that I had more of the KBShimmer Fall collection polishes to show, and I will be starting them tonight. As I said before, these are the first KBShimmer polishes I've purchased and I am immensely impressed thus far.

Right on the Nail ~ China Glaze Fall 2015 The Great Outdoors Collection Swatches and Reviews (Partial)

Hi guys! Tonight I have the 4 polishes I bought from the China Glaze fall Great Outdoors Collection. There were actually more I wanted to buy, but Ulta was out of most of them. Perhaps when I have time to go to my nail supply store I will get the rest I was interested in. Let's get to it!

Right on the Nail ~ Rescue Beauty Lounge Nail Polish Reviews and Swatches: Motorini and Oliveto

It's another rainy Saturday here in North Carolina, and it's supposed to get even colder as the weekend passes. Since we are well into November (!!) I need to start finalizing some Thanksgiving plans. Do you know what you are doing yet? Tonight I have 2 more Rescue Beauty polishes from the Italian Summer collection to show you. Shall we get to it?

Right on the Nail ~ Rescue Beauty Lounge Nail Polish Reviews and Swatches: Bicicletta and Cue the Montage

I'm baaaaacckkkk! It feels like I've been away for an eternity. I had a talk at my conference and it went well. Guess what? I have another conference next weekend. I know. I'll try to be better at uploading posts for when I'm gone. Tonight I have the start of several posts of polishes I bought during the recent Rescue Beauty Lounge sale. I just found out tonight they are closing their doors soon.  So sad! You may want to pick up some polishes while they are still open. Anyway, let's start, shall we?

Right on the Nail ~ KBShimmer Fall 2015 Collection Swatches and Review: Be Scareful

KBShimmer Be Scareful (3 coats)

I know, I'm posting 3 days in a row! I told you I have so many Halloween polishes and so little time! This is my first time trying KBShimmer and I know that is totally crazy. They are such a big indie company that I don't even know if we can really call them indie anymore (but we can). I have several from the Fall Collection to show you, but tonight we will leave it to the Halloween one.

Be Scareful is a white crelly polish with black and orange shards and black and orange glitter in various shapes (I can see triangles, circles, stars and hexagonal). I also accidentally found out that it was glow-in-the-dark the next day. I am terrible at taking pictures in the dark, so you'll have to believe me or stop by the KBShimmer website. I used 3 coats for full opacity here. Make sure to use thin coats so you don't end up with an uneven finish

You can buy most KBShimmer polishes for $8.75, including Be Scareful. Make sure to check them out on their website, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for more information. Have a safe and happy Halloween!

Right on the Nail ~ Black Creme Polish Comparison

*press samples*

Left: Sally Hansen Blacky O (2 coats) Middle: Morgan Taylor Little Black Dress (2 coats) Right: NYC Black Lace Creme (2 coats)

Tonight I have a little something different for you. I received several different black creme polishes to review with Halloween right around the corner. On the nail, all three basically look the same, but they all have different brushes, consistencies, and prices. On the left is Blacky O from the Sally Hansen Miracle Gel line. It had a formula that was slightly jelly-like. Unlike a jelly it only needed 2 coats. In the middle we have the Morgan Taylor color called Little Black Dress that was easily the most opaque and easiest to apply of the three. It is also the most expensive and hardest to find. And finally, on the right is New York Cosmetics' (NYC) Black Lace Creme. It had a really thin, almost jelly formula, but still only needed 2 coats.

The price and availability are important points to mention as well. If you need the polish for this weekend, you will be able to find the Sally Hansen for around $8 at your local Ulta, Target, Walmart, Walgreens, CVS, or Rite Aid stores. NYC is also easy to find at Target, Walmart, Rite Aid, CVS, or Kmart. Oh, did I mention that these will run you a buck? That's right, a dollar. And finally, Morgan Taylor is not easy to find for non-professionals. Fortunately, there is one place you can purchase your Morgan Taylor, OPI, or CND polishes, and that's Loxa Beauty. You can buy polishes for retail price, but right now they have 15% off all purchases with the code TREAT15. Overall, if I want a great black polish that I plan on wearing a lot, I would go with Morgan Taylor, but if it's just something for once a year or just a costume, you may want to just buy the NYC color.

*These polishes were provided by the company or PR representative. All reviews are based solely on my opinion. For more information, please see my full disclosure at the bottom of the site*

Right on the Nail ~ Aliquid Lacquer Fall 2015 Incarnate Collection Swatches and Review: Beneath Red Mountain and Doom Drum

I'm so happy to start a new fall collection that I bought a few weeks ago from a brand called Aliquid Lacquer. These are my first polishes from them and the 8-piece collection is inspired by the video game The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind. My husband played The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim game and I loved watching it because there were so many interesting quests. Follow me after the break to see my thoughts on the first 2 colors...

Right on the Nail ~ Polish 'M Fall 2015 Collection Swatches and Reviews Part III

Hi guys, sorry I missed my post yesterday. I've been working in the field a lot for work and I was away from my computer for a bit. If anyone is interested, I've been studying ponds to see if they are affected by herbicide runoff at sod/turf farms. Many people don't even realize that these farms exist! Anyway, tonight I have the next 2 colors from Polish 'M Fall Collection. This is a huge collection!

Right on the Nail ~ Essie Summer 2015 Peach Side Babe Collection Swatches and Reviews: Chillato and Salt Water Happy

I hope your Monday is treating you well. I should have some nail mail coming tonight, so I plan on getting on Periscope around 7 PM EST if you are interested in finding out what I got from Polish 'M. I am @rightonthenail on Twitter/Periscope. If you happen to not be on your computer at that time, you can still see the replay for up to 48 hrs after the post. I hope to see you tonight! I bought 2 of the 6 Essie Peach Side Collection colors (those are the only ones the really interested me). Read on after the break to learn more about Chillato and Salt Water Happy.
