Right on the Nail ~ Aliquid Lacquer Fall 2015 Incarnate Collection Swatches and Review: Beneath Red Mountain and Doom Drum

I'm so happy to start a new fall collection that I bought a few weeks ago from a brand called Aliquid Lacquer. These are my first polishes from them and the 8-piece collection is inspired by the video game The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind. My husband played The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim game and I loved watching it because there were so many interesting quests. Follow me after the break to see my thoughts on the first 2 colors...

Aliquid Lacquer Beneath Red Mountain (2 coats)

First off, I should mention that I am using the mini bottles which made it so difficult to situate my fingers to take pictures. I really liked the mini bottle shape and it holds 1/3 the amount of a full size bottle. Beneath Red Mountain is a deep reddish brown base with tons of red and bronze shimmer. This is definitely one hot, vampy color! The base color can often look black in most lights, but the shimmer really lights it up. The smaller brushes on mini bottles makes it difficult to judge the true formula, I find. I had to dip the brush back in the polish several times per nail, but that's not the polish maker's fault. It was nice and opaque in only 2 coats.

Aliquid Lacquer Doom Drum (3 coats)

Doom Drum is a medium reddish magenta jelly with lots of silver glitter and blue shimmer. It was really sheer (hey, it's a jelly), and needed 3 coats for full coverage. It's really pretty, but probably my least favorite of the collection. Just wait to see the rest of the collection!

The mini bottles for the Incarnate Collection retail for $4.50-$5.50 and the full-sized polishes go for $10-$12. You can find out more about Aliquid Lacquer on their website, Facebook, Facebook Group, Instagram, and Twitter pages.
