Spooky Oriental Coral

2 Coats of Color Club's Master of Disguise with 2 Coats of Adoree's Oriental Coral

China Glaze Forune Teller

Master of Disguise with Abracadabra

Happy Halloween everyone! I hope you have a fun and safe holiday! Today's mix is Color Club's Master of Disguise (already reviewed) with 2 coats of Adoree's Oriental Coral glitter on top. I just love this color! It has 2 different sizes of glitter and has hints of green, gold, and orange throughout. Application was wonderful on on both of the polishes. You get get Adoree polishes online at Esther's Nail Center. This one definitely screamed Halloween to me! I also showed a few other holiday inspired polishes I thought you'd like to take a look at again.

Yellow Glitter

NYX Yellow Glitter (4 Coats)

So this is very....yellow. Very bright yellow. The glitter is a mix of yellow and green with hints of orange. This one was very sheer, and as you can see, it could have used a few more coats than the 4 I used. This one was definitely just ok for me. I think if I wear it again I will have to layer it. Despite using 4 coats, the application on this one was just fine.

Nova

Zoya Nova (3 coats)

Nova comes from Zoya's UltraGlitter Winter 2009 Collection. As always, I'm a sucker for glitter! Nova is an awesome dark pink (I think there is a hint of purple in there as well). Application was great for a glitter (you know, sometimes it can get thick), and it was opaque in 3 coats. The texture was slightly bumpy after application, but it wasn't as bad as some glitters. Overall I really enjoyed this one!

Goldie

Zoya Goldie (2 coats)

These are my mom's nails again. This one comes from the Ooh-La-La collection from Zoya. I think Goldie looks better with her skintone than my own. This 24k shimmer is true to its name. This was 2 coats, but probably could have had a third, but application was awesome.

Veruschuka!

Zoya Veruschuka (2 coats)

Yes, another matte! This time it comes from Zoya with the interesting name Veruschuka. It is an awesome deep green. Usually these polishes are hard to apply since they dry so quickly, but I didn't have a problem with this polish. Application was actually really great and only needed two coats. Unfortunately I didn't have a chance to add topcoat, but other blogs have pictures of this. I really love the frosted bottle on these. I sort of with all their bottles were like this.

OMG

China Glaze OMG (3 Coats)

I love holos! If you love them too, you should definitely check out the OMG Collection from China Glaze. Today is the bright silver holo called OMG. In normal light it looks like a normal silver (still nice in its own right), but in the light it truly comes to life. Application on this one was a bit weird. It was very watery, but not so much so that it was uncontrollable. Since it was so thin I needed to have three coats to have full coverage.

Misbehaving Mistress

Barielle Misbehaving Mistress (2 coats)

Misbehaving Mistress wasn't quite as special as I was hoping. It is a slate gray shimmer with slight streakiness that you sometimes get with metallic finishes. On the bright side it had nice application and was opaque in 2 coats.

Putt-E-On Me

Barielle Putt-E-On Me (2 coats)

Putt-E-On Me is an interesting color. I think it looks more brown in the picture, but it seems a little more purple/taupe color in real life. This is a really nice neutral one that is good for day to day wear. No application issues and was very pigmented.

My older brother is getting married tomorrow!! If I don't get the chance to post tomorrow, that's why :)

Polished Princess

Barielle Polished Princess (2 coats)

Polished Princess is a shimmery green (more of a yellow green than an emerald green) from Barielle. You may have noticed (I hope!) that these are not my fingers. My family is visiting this week so I have been giving my mom a mani everyday which has helped me a bit with some swatching. Let's just say that she was quite apprehensive about putting her nails on the blog...obviously I convinced her :) Anyway, this is a nice green that is a little more versatile than some greens. Application was really great on this one and it was opaque in 2 coats.

Flickr

Hey guys, I've just started adding some of my pictures to my Flickr account. Feel free to take a look at them here!

Blackened Bleu

Barielle Blackened Bleu (2 coats)

Blackened Bleu is beautiful and I love it! It's a blue shimmer with hints of darker blue (as they call it, blackened). In some light there are hints of green shimmer in with the blue. Application was just like Slate of Affairs-very slightly thick but still easy to work with.

Also, until midnight tonight EST, you can get 3 free Zoya polishes with the code RS3. All you have to pay is S&H. Enjoy!

Slate of Affairs

Barielle Slate of Affairs (2 coats)

I have a few more polishes from the All Lacquered Up Collection from Barielle to show you guys. Slate of Affairs is a gorgeous light blue color with hints of blue shimmer throughout. It's definitely not a sky blue color, but is more of powdered blue color if that makes sense. I really love this one! Application was fine (just very slightly on the thick side).

Master Of Disguise

Color Club Master of Disguise (2 coats)

Master of Disguise is just a simple black creme. It applied nicely even though it was a mini bottle. There's not really much more to mention about this one. I don't normally like black polish, but this one is nice for layering.

We'll Always Have Paris

OPI We'll Always Have Paris Suede (2 Coats)

Today is from the Suede Collection from OPI called We'll Always Have Paris. It is a very nice purple/pink color (it's sort of hard to describe but it is beautiful nonetheless!). These polishes are very pigmented and I probably could have gotten away with one coat but I did two just because. They applied like a dream except you still have to be careful because they dry so quickly.

2 For Saturday

Massini Unknown (2 coats)

OPI Bullish on OPI (2 Coats)

Hi everyone! Sorry for the delay. Today I have 2 colors for you so I hope you enjoy them. For some reason the Massini color had no name on it. All it had on it said "Fall Promo Color" so if anyone can identify this one please let me know! I bought this one at Meijer and had great application. It is a very dark blue color (it almost looks black with the 2 coats on it).

The second color comes from the Espana Collection from OPI called Bullish on OPI. My husband actually picked this color out (I guess he is trying to tell me that I need to wear more reds!). It is a great tomato red color with just perfect application in 2 coats. OPI clearly makes some great reds.

Sorry!

I have to give a talk at a conference tomorrow so I've been working hard on that. I don't have the time to post a picture tonight-sorry! I promise to have 2 up tomorrow for you guys. I hope you can understand!

Abracadabra

Color Club Abracadabra over 2 coats of Master of Disguise

These two colors finish up the Master of Disguise Collection from Color Club. Master of Disguise on its own is a simple black creme. I ended up adding Abracadabra to the top to make it a little more special. Abracadabra is such a great orange glitter. I received so many compliments on this combination. I think it may be my Halloween mani! What do you think?

Hot Lime Green

Nubar Hot Lime Green (2 coats)

Nubar has some wonderful colors and great application. Hot Lime Green is indeed what its name implies. It is such a fun lime green with a hint of wasabi. It's a real eye catcher. Application was fine with only 2 coats needed.

Taboo

Color Club Taboo (2 coats)

Taboo is from the Master of Disguise mini Collection from Color Club. I think I will save the last couple colors from this collection for my Halloween mani. My camera is a big liar. Taboo is more purple than the blue (it is a blurple) that is showing up here. If you look at the larger pictures you can sort of see the purple shimmer throughout. This color is absolutely gorgeous. Despite being a mini polish, application was smooth and I didn't have to get  more than one dip into the polish to do a layer.

Ink Suede

OPI Ink Suede (2 coats)

With 1 coat topcoat on middle and pinkie fingers

I was holding off on getting the Suedes because I'm still a little unsure how I feel about Mattes. Today is Ink Suede and it looks great! It was almost opaque in 1 coat but I did 2 just because. And it dried so quickly...not quite as quickly as Poshe from Zoya (which is nice because that almost dried too quickly!). Another great thing is that it looks awesome with topcoat, too! You can always wear this without topcoat for a couple days and then add topcoat for a new look. As always, I love the OPI brush and application was wonderful. I hope you like these because I still have one more of these to swatch for you!

Dear Santa

OPI Dear Santa (2 Coats)

Dear Santa is from the new Holiday Collection from OPI. This is the red polish I was talking about the other day. Sorry about the little black spots around the cuticles; I was swatching a black polish with a topcoat and it stained them.  Anyway, Dear Santa is a nice red polish with lots of golden shimmer throughout. This polish is such a fun Christmasy red that will be nice to have around when the holidays come around.

Fashion Addict

Color Club Fashion Addict (2 coats)

Fashion Addict is an awesome holo from Color Club. Like Wild at Heart, it is a purple holo, but this one is quite light (sort of a lavender purple). Application was great as usual.

Also, I went to my first ULTA store today (I've been in North Carolina since yesterday). With the buy 2 get one free promotion I got 2 from the new OPI Suede Collection and one from the Espana Collection. Since I've been out of town I didn't bring my SD card with me so I couldn't show the OPI Holiday color I just put on. Soon, I promise!

Glistening Sandz

BB Couture Glistening Sandz (2 coats)

Glistening Sandz is a beautiful orange coral creme from BB Couture. Although this seems like a great summer color, I don't always follow nail "trends." If I feel like wearing a polish I am going to wear it. I usually don't care if I put a "summer" polish on in the winter, and I don't really care if my nail polish doesn't match my clothes. I just love polish because I can be working on something, and I'll see a glimpse of it out of the corner of my eye and I get to admire the color throughout the day. This color is one of those that just brightens my day. Application was wonderful and very pigmented like most BB Couture polishes.

As always, you can purchase these polishes at Overall Beauty.

Mr. Wrong

Hard Candy Mr. Wrong (2 coats)

I asked a few weeks ago if anyone thought I should buy any of the new Hard Candy polishes. Nobody replied, but Mr. Wrong was just too great to dismiss! It is another one of those really complex polishes that are so cool. It's a little bit purple (perhaps bluish) with gold shimmer. The application on this one was really smooth and easy to work with. You can purchase Hard Candy polishes at Wal-mart ( I know, I know, I don't like going there either) and retail for $5.

Also, I picked up a new OPI 2009 Holiday polish at a JC Penny salon. *gasp* I bought a red polish. I ended up getting Dear Santa. I don't know if you guys have noticed or not, but I really don't own very many red polishes. Pinks yes, reds no. I should have that up in the near future.

Ghost of Chance

Color Club Ghost of Chance (3 coats)

Ghost of Chance can be found in the Master of Disguise Minis Set from Color Club. I've never owned a pure white creme before. I've heard that it is hard to apply and boy were they right. It went on very streaky and was a little thick. If I get a little polish on the edges of my nails I often take a nail from my other hand and try to scrap the excess off. It was impossible to do this with this polish. You can especially see this on my pinkie finger. Despite the application issues, I received several compliments on the polish!

More China Glaze Glitters

China Glaze Cleopatra (3 coats)

China Glaze Ginger (2 coats)

For some reason I felt it should be a Two for Tuesday, so up today are two glitters from the China Glaze Glitter, Shimmers & Cremes Collection. First up is Cleopatra which is a gold glitter with some large multicolored glitter throughout. It does not contain some pigment like Ginger did so it takes more coats to make opaque. Ginger is a beautiful bronze glitter with some large multicolored glitter throughout. With all the glitter I have been using lately, I went out and bought a pot of polish remover with a sponge inserted to make removal easier.  I think I am going to take a break with the glitters for a few days if that is ok with you :-)

Brown Velvet

Massini/Color Club Brown Velvet (2 coats)

I usually don't like brown polish. I do, on the other hand, love wearing brown. Brown Velvet is a very wearable brown color with a hint of red and 2 shapes of gold glitter. For some reason this sort of reminds me of cinnamon. I can't even express how great the application is on Color Club (aka Massini). I can't believe it took me so long to try them. This one was opaque in 2 coats.

Color Club Pink Glitter Japanese Glitter

Warning, my nails are so stained and I am wearing a sheer polish. For the squeamish, please ignore the photos!

You were warned....

Color Club Limited Edition Japanese Polish Pink Glitter from Victoria's Nail Supply (4 coats)

Yes, my nails look gross. I'm sorry, I didn't have a chance to deal with it. This is a special batch made specially for Victoria's Nail Supply. Unfortunately this glitter would be best layered over another polish since it is sheer with a very slight tinge of pink. I do love the sparkle on this, so I'll have to show another picture soon that shows what it looks like layered. Application was great as with most Color Club polishes.

On a different note, I'm thinking about having a contest soon!  I'll give you more details in the near future!
