Morgan Taylor Fall 2016 Sweetheart Squadron Collection Swatches and Reviews: Looking For a Wingman and Oh, Para-chute!

*press samples*

Hi guys! Long time, no post! I was traveling for work from Tuesday until today, and was unable to get a post up before I left. I had a great time at the Dallas Pen Show and even got to visit my in-laws (it had been way too long since I had seen them). I definitely need to have a new Nibs & Nails this week, so make sure to stay tuned later this week.

In the meantime, I have the fall collection from Morgan Taylor to share with you. I'm still trying to play catch-up from being away this weekend, so I have just 2 of them to show tonight. The Sweetheart Squadron is inspired by the the female pioneers in aviation. They don't mention any specific names, but I can imagine Amelia Earhart is one of them. Before I made this post, I looked up other important women in aviation, and I encourage you to do the same (I recommend the WAI website). Shall we get started?

I Love Nail Polish (ILNP) Fall 2014 Swatches and Review: Black Orchid

ILNP Black Orchid (3 coats, diffused LED daylight)

ILNP Black Orchid (3 coats, direct LED daylight to show holo goodness)

Hi guys! I know, no Nibs & Nails again this week. No worries, I still have several more brands/inks/giveaways coming so don't despair! Can I just say that I'm happy it's Friday? This week seemed to drag on for some reason. I'm leaving for Dallas to work at the Dallas Pen Show, so if you're in the Dallas area, come say hi! It's only fitting to show ILNP's Black Orchid tonight because I was given this polish by a fellow pen/ink lover, Ana! Ana is the mastermind behind the blog The Well Appointed Desk. Once she found out I had a nail polish blog we instantly became friends. While at the DC Pen Show this year, Ana was kind enough to give me a few indie brand polishes I haven't already featured on the blog. Yes, I finally know someone in real life who loves indie brand polishes! Please stop by her blog to support another polish/pen/ink lover.

Black Orchid comes from the Fall 2014 Collection from ILNP. I just received an e-mail today about the Fall 2016 pre-order that goes until Sept. 23rd. They are a reputable brand known for their holo, multichrome, and flake polishes. Black Orchid is a vampy burgundy holo with strong purple undertones. Come on, that holo finish! I think you need another purple holo in your life and its name is Black Orchid. I ended up using 3 coats for my photos above, but you should be able to get away with 2. The formula was smooth and perfect, so no need to worry about streaking or flooded cuticles.

Black Orchid is still on sale for $10 at the ILNP website. Make sure to check out the Fall 2016 collection while you're there. You can find out more about INLP on their Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter pages. Have a great weekend!

Essence's The Gel Nail Polish Swatches and Reviews: Play With My Mint and Va-Va-Voom

*press samples*

Hi guys! Tonight I have a brand I haven't shown on the blog in quite some time! Essence is a German cosmetics company which can be found at your local Ulta. If your Ulta is anything like mine, the Essence end cap is pretty picked over by the time I get the chance to look at it. I was given the chance to try out most of the polishes in their revamped "The Gel Nail Polish line" and I have 2 reviews to share with you tonight. Follow me after the break for more information and photos.

*purchased with a blogger discount*

Hi guys! I know I'm a little late in posting tonight, but it was a busy day. My collage above is a little misleading because I have just 2 polishes to show and not 3. Mariah from Great Lakes Lacquer is releasing her first thermal polish! Leaves in the Lake and Leaves in the Sand are polishes inspired by Polish Con and will make their debut there, but they will be for sale in the Etsy shop on September 21st at 3:00 PM EST. Shall we get started?

Great Lakes Lacquer Polish Con 2016 Exclusive Swatches and Review: Fallen for Flake

*purchased with blogger discount*

Great Lakes Lacquer Fallen for Flakie (2 coats)

TGIF! In case you haven't heard, many indie brands are teaming up for Polish Con: Fall in Love With Indies in Chicago next Saturday, September 17th. General admission tickets are only $15, so if you will be in the area, I definitely recommend you go. Unfortunately I won't be able to make it this time, but I hope this is just the first of many Polish Cons. Great Lakes Lacquer will be attending with several polishes inspired by the event. There are 3 polishes in total, but one of these will be exclusive to the show. If you can't make it to Chicago, you should go on some of the Facebook pages of the brands attending to see if someone will purchase the exclusives for you.

Fallen for Flakie is the Great Lakes Lacquer Polish Con exclusive and is a violet jelly with tons of orange and gold flakes, ultrachrome flakes, and pink and bronze shimmer. The flakies aren't too in your face if you're one of those weird people who aren't the biggest flake fans. Either way, it's a really gorgeous color. It was extremely pigmented and had a smooth application in just 2 coats.

It will retail for $11 at the show, and I hope you're able to make it. Will you be attending? If so, I'm super jealous. Make sure to check out what Mariah is up to on her EtsyFacebook, and Instagram pages as well.

*These polishes were provided by the brand at a discounted price. All reviews are based solely on my opinion. For more information, please see my full disclosure at the bottom of the site*

Zoya Fall 2016 Urban Grunge Collection Swatches and Reviews: Part I of the Cremes

*press sample*

Hi guys! I hope your Labor Day went well. The weather was really nice here so we had a cookout at home. Other than that, I had a quiet weekend. Tonight I'll be showing the first 3 polishes from "the creme" side of Zoya's Urban Grunge collection. I showed the holo and metallic set a couple weeks ago and I was a huge fan, so we shall see if these can measure up.

Nibs & Nails Presents Polish 'M in Brandy Dazzle and Brandy Dazzle 2.0 (Inspired by Diamine Ink) | Swatches and Giveaway

*press sample*

Hi guys! Welcome back to another week of Nibs & Nails, where we ask indie makers to dupe (or just be inspired by) popular fountain pen ink. You still have a few hours left of last week's giveaway from Frenzy Polish, so get your entries in ASAP. Tonight we are honored to have Michelle from Polish 'M to make the Diamine Shimmertastic ink called Brandy Dazzle. When Michelle got the ink sample she ended up making 2 different polishes, one the color of the ink in the bottle, and 1 of the dried ink on paper. I had mentioned to a couple of the previous makers to try and go for the dried ink color, but I failed to tell Michelle this. I could tell she liked the color of the wet ink better, and I don't blame her! We will have 2 winners for the giveaway this week, so make sure to follow the post to the end.

As always, to see an in-depth review of the ink, please check out my husband's blog post on Inkdependence. Without further ado, let's get started!
