Noodles Nail Polish Fall 2024 Collection Swatches and Reviews

 *press samples*

Hi everyone! I need to apologize for the lack of posts lately. In mid-August we had to put our 19-year-old cat, Mr. Nose, down. It was devastating. We just lost our Clipsy cat at Christmas, so we are still raw from that. And honestly, September has been a blur so far. With the sad news out of the way, I have much more exciting things to share with you tonight. You all know Noodles Nail Polish's fall collections have always been a favorite of mine. Natalie really captures that fall feeling with her crellies. Tonight I've got swatches of the 6-piece collection that will be released this Saturday, September 21st at 5 PM EST on the Noodles website. Each polish will retail for just $10.50 each. Swatch time!

Noodles Nail Polish Fall 2022 Collection Swatches and Reviews

 *press samples*

Hello hello! I hope your week is off to a great start. I celebrated my husband's birthday this past weekend, but other than that, it's been quiet around here. Instead of a cake, he requested some rice crispy squares so we've been eating those for dessert and I'm ok with that. Tonight I have the newest collection from Noodles Nail Polish and it's an 8-piece set featuring crellies, a glitter topper, and a holo multichrome polish. Each polish will retail for $10 each, and they will be available this Friday, September 16th at 5 PM EST on the Noodles website.

As always, this is going to be a pic and text-heavy post, so we should get started.

Polish Pickup November 2021 Game Night Swatches and Reviews from Noodles Nail Polish and Starlight and Sparkles

 *press samples*

How is it November?! It seems like it was April a few weeks ago. Before you know it, we will be falling back for daylight savings time (which I hate)! This is a very special week for me because I have the week off! I don't have much planned, except my parents will be coming on Wednesday and I haven't seen them in months. Can you believe the November Polish Pickup starts this Friday? This month's inspiration is Game Night, and I'm one of those weird people who doesn't like board games. I know! My husband, on the other hand, absolutely loves them.

New to PPU? If so, here's how it works: Definitely join the Polish Pickup Facebook Group. You don't necessarily need to actively participate in the group, but it will give you a look at the polishes that will be available in the coming month. PPU themes are chosen by the people, often a few months in advance (brands need time to find their inspiration and test their polish). Any indie brand that has been around for at least a year can participate and each has their own specific inspiration picture and polish for that month. All you need to do is go to the Polish Pickup site during the pre-order window (the first Friday-Monday of the month) to make all of your purchases of these exclusive polishes. There's no need to pay for multiple shipping charges; since this is a pre-order, all polishes get sent to Polish Pickup and they send you the polishes you ordered. Yup, it's that simple. *Shipping Price Update 2021* Orders weighing up to 7 oz will still ship to the US for $3 while all other US orders will ship for $5 (more for international and they just had to increase the pricing to Canada). Since all orders are pre-orders, shipping will take place about 3 weeks after the end of the pre-order.

PPU starts Friday, November 5th at 11:00 AM ET and ends on Monday, November 8th at 11:59 PM (but if a polish has a bottle limit and sells out before the end of the pre-order, it's gone, unless you get lucky and the cap gets raised...which is rare) on the PPU website. Shall we get to some pictures?

Polish Pickup Famous Duos February 2019: Static Lacquer Lucky the Leprechaun and Feathers

*press samples*

Hi guys! If you are getting that arctic blast right now, please be safe! We've been really lucky here with just a little rain and lows in the 20s. I'm going to be a blogging machine for the next couple days, so expect to be hearing a lot from me. Tonight I have the final Polish Pickup (PPU) shades for January's Famous Duos. Static Lacquer stepped out and made 2 separate polishes for this month: one will be available in the PPU site, while the other will be available in the Static Lacquer website and will run concurrent to the PPU dates and times. PPU starts this Friday at 11:00 AM ET and will go through 11:59 PM ET Monday, February 4th. This month Stacy was inspired by Crowley and Castiel from the show Supernatural.

Static Lacquer Lucky the Leprachaun (2 coats)
PPU shade, $12
110 bottle cap

OoOo, what a vampy shade we've got for this month. Lucky the Leprachaun is inspired by Crowley, the King of Hell on Supernatural. This one is burgundy jelly base with a scattered holo flake finish. Stacy is the queen of the holo flakes, so I was happy to see them represented not once, but twice this month! This one is dark, but not so dark you'll think it's black. It had a really nice formula, and needed just 2 coats for full opacity (which was a nice surprise since it's a jelly). It dried quickly with no texture at all.

Static Lacquer Feathers (2 coats)
Static Lacquer website, $10
No Cap

Up next is Feathers, which is inspired by Castiel, an angel to the Lord on Supernatural. It's a bright blue crelly base with holo microflakes and copper shimmer. This is a really happy shade and I've been wearing it for the past couple days. This one also needed just 2 coats, and dried with no texture. Despite being a bright blue, I had no issues with staining.

These 2 polishes are really different, but I love them both! Supernatural has been on forever, and there is a huge fan base. If you are a fan of Sam and Dean, definitely pick these up. Don't forget, Lucky the Leprechaun will be sold in the PPU site, while Feathers will be available in the Static Lacquer site. You can learn more about Static Lacquer on their websiteFacebookGroup, and Instagram pages, while you can find more about PPU on their Facebook page and website.

*These polishes were provided by the company or PR representative. All reviews are based solely on my opinion. For more information, please see my full disclosure at the bottom of the site*

Noodles Nail Polish Holiday 2018 Collection Swatches and Reviews

*press samples*

Hi guys! I meant to post this yesterday, but I ended up getting a tetanus shot which left me feeling a little crappy the rest of the night. Long story short, I needed the shot anyway, and I may have been accidentally bitten by Mr. Nose (my cat) while trying to give him a pill. He didn't mean to; he was just trying to stop me from giving him the pill and get away. That said, I'm feeling a bit better today. I've been so excited to make this post since the day the box came in the mail. This is my first holiday collection reviewing for Noodles Nail Polish, and I couldn't wait to see what Natalie had in store for us. *hint you won't be disappointed*

The collection will be released this Friday, November 16th at 6 PM EST. Each polish will be sold individually for $9.50 each in the Noodles Nail Polish site. I don't have photos of them, but 3 previously sold holiday-themed polishes will be available as well (Bah Hum Bug, Peppermint Twist, and Resting Grinch Face). This is a very picture-heavy post, so I think we should get right to it.

Polish Pickup January 2018 Crystals and Gemstones: Ever After Polish and Poetry Cowgirl Nail Polish

Hi guys! I'm doing more traveling for work this week, so I'll be quiet this weekend. Oh, and it actually snowed today! Many of our flowering trees have bloomed in NC, so it's super sad to see this happen. Perhaps this will be the last snow of the year. Tonight I've got the 2 polishes I purchased during the Polish Pickup Crystals and Gemstones theme. If you haven't heard about Polish Pickup, let me give you a quick recap. First, definitely join the Polish Pickup Facebook Group. You don't necessarily need to actively participate in the group, but it will give you a look into the polishes coming that month. Do you hate it when a new indie box comes out with multiple brands and you only really love one of the colors? What do you do then? Destash the ones you don't want? Just suck it up and buy it and keep them all because you're too lazy to destash? Well, there's now a group and website called Polish Pickup that will open for suggestions for box themes for the upcoming month. Everyone votes, and the winner becomes the theme for a future box. Any indie brand can participate and has their own specific inspiration picture and polish for that month. Oh, and shipping is a flat-rate of $3 to the US (more for Canada and international). With that out of the way, shall we look at these beauties?

Vapid Lacquer Swatches and Reviews: Crab Nebula Dirty XXX and Waxing Poetic

Hi guys! This week has been flying by, and it'll be the weekend before you know it. I'll be doing a little traveling next week, so who knows what the blog schedule will be. Tonight I have a couple random polishes from Vapid Lacquer that I bought during the annual Purge. I bought more bath and body products than polishes, so I think I have just one more to show you at some point. Neither of these are currently for sale, but February is the maker's birthday month, so there are usually some new goodies that make their way back to the website. I highly recommend you join the Vapid Lacquer Facebook Group (Vapicorns) to get the most up-to-date info about the company and releases. Swatch time!

Hi guys! I'm gearing up for Christmas, so this is going to be a quick post tonight. Somehow pretty much all presents are here and they've been wrapped/shipped! YES, this year it finally happened! Literary Lacquers is releasing a brand new 6-piece collection on December 26th (12 PM MT) and it's inspired by Alice in Wonderland. If that wasn't enough, there's even a free gift with purchase opportunity when you spend $48+ between December 26-January 5 (more info and pictures below). I hope you saved a few bucks in your budget for these, because you won't want to miss out. Shall we get to the good stuff?

Morgan Taylor Fall 2017 Matadora Collection Swatches and Reviews Part I

*press samples*

Hi guys! Sorry I've been a bit absent, but I took a few days off to visit with my parents. My dad came down with something on Saturday, so we spent all of Sunday on the couch watching Stranger Things 2. I could definitely think of worse things to do. Did you binge watch it this weekend? Tonight I have the Morgan Taylor Matadora collection to show you, and it features vampy colors inspired by Spain. To be honest, I think the killing of bulls for sport is disgusting, so I'm going to try and ignore the killing part, and focus on the culture. I'd love to hear what you think about this. That said, let's get to some swatches.

Zoya Fall 2017 Sophisticates Collection Swatches and Reviews Part III

*press samples*

Hi guys! Sorry for the absence the last few days. I was fighting that allergic reaction for a few days, and last night I went and got the new iPhone 8 plus. I'm loving it so far! Tonight we're continuing the marathon that is the Zoya Sophisticates Collection. No more small talk, let's do this!

Paint Box Polish The 12 Collection Swatches and Reviews: Axe Fight, Hey Missy!, and The Ultimate Warrier

Hi guys! Tonight I'm back with the final 3 polishes from Paint Box Polish's 12 Collection I started on Tuesday. While the first 2 polishes were some astounding multichrome colors, the last 3 have a variety of finishes. Shall we get started with some swatches? Let's do this!

Paint Box Polish Axe Fight (2 coats)

Axe Fight is a black crelly with fine silver holographic flakes and red shimmer. Unfortunately it's sort of hard to see the shimmer in the photos, but it's there. This one reminds me of space, and would be perfect for anyone too scared to wear just a plain black creme. I didn't think much of it in the bottle, but I was pleasantly surprised with how much I loved this one! It applied well in just 2 easy coats.

Paint Box Polish Hey Missy! (2 coats, natural finish)

Paint Box Polish Hey Missy! (2 coats, w/topcoat)

It's been awhile since any brands have released some matte polishes, so I was surprised with the finish on Hey Missy! It's a deep plum color with a matte finish. I personally like it better with topcoat, but that's just me. It practically applied itself in 2 coats and dried really quickly with the matte finish if you don't want to add topcoat.

Paint Box Polish The Ultimate Warrior (3 coats)

No, not this Ultimate Warrier:

Man, I wish this was the inspiration because how colorful would that be?! Now that I think of it, has there been any polish collections inspired by WWF/WWE wrestlers? When I was a really young child in the 80s, I was a big wrestling fan. Just me? I haven't watched it in years, but it was fun when I was a kid. Ok, back to The Ultimate Warrier the polish. It's a really deep burgundy color with lots of red and gold glass-flecked shimmer. Have I mentioned lately how much I love glass-flecked shimmer? I don't normally go for red polishes, but this one is just too special to ignore. It wasn't too sheer, but I used 3 coats for added depth.

Overall, I'm really happy I bought the whole collection in mini bottles. If you can only get a couple, definitely get the multichrome polishes, but you can't go wrong with any of them. The 12 Collection is still for sale on the Paint Box Polish website, and the mini polishes start at $6 each. Find out more about Paint Box Polish on their websiteFacebook, and Instagram pages.

I Love Nail Polish (ILNP) Fall 2014 Swatches and Review: Black Orchid

ILNP Black Orchid (3 coats, diffused LED daylight)

ILNP Black Orchid (3 coats, direct LED daylight to show holo goodness)

Hi guys! I know, no Nibs & Nails again this week. No worries, I still have several more brands/inks/giveaways coming so don't despair! Can I just say that I'm happy it's Friday? This week seemed to drag on for some reason. I'm leaving for Dallas to work at the Dallas Pen Show, so if you're in the Dallas area, come say hi! It's only fitting to show ILNP's Black Orchid tonight because I was given this polish by a fellow pen/ink lover, Ana! Ana is the mastermind behind the blog The Well Appointed Desk. Once she found out I had a nail polish blog we instantly became friends. While at the DC Pen Show this year, Ana was kind enough to give me a few indie brand polishes I haven't already featured on the blog. Yes, I finally know someone in real life who loves indie brand polishes! Please stop by her blog to support another polish/pen/ink lover.

Black Orchid comes from the Fall 2014 Collection from ILNP. I just received an e-mail today about the Fall 2016 pre-order that goes until Sept. 23rd. They are a reputable brand known for their holo, multichrome, and flake polishes. Black Orchid is a vampy burgundy holo with strong purple undertones. Come on, that holo finish! I think you need another purple holo in your life and its name is Black Orchid. I ended up using 3 coats for my photos above, but you should be able to get away with 2. The formula was smooth and perfect, so no need to worry about streaking or flooded cuticles.

Black Orchid is still on sale for $10 at the ILNP website. Make sure to check out the Fall 2016 collection while you're there. You can find out more about INLP on their Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter pages. Have a great weekend!

Right on the Nail ~ Morgan Taylor Holiday 2015 Gifted With Style Collection Mini Set Swatches and Reviews

Hi guys! Today felt like Friday for some reason which is really disappointing since it is only Wednesday. Oh, did I tell you that I'm going back to Cambodia in January? I'm a huge fan of Cambodia and this will be my 4th time going there. I usually have pictures of the local beauty shop I go to while I'm there, so keep your eyes peeled for that next month. Tonight I have the holiday mini set from Morgan Taylor to show you. The whole Gifted With Style collection is 6 pieces, so I'll just be showing the other 2 later this week. Let's see what we have going on here...

Zoya Fall 2014 Entice Collection Swatches and Reviews

*press samples*

Zoya Claire (2 coats)

Claire is a very deep burgundy brown. It's a nice fall color, but it's really not my thing. If it didn't have so much red in it, it would remind me of raisins.

Zoya Genevieve (2 coats)

Genevieve is the only non-creme of the collection with a slight pearl finish. It's more of a deep grey with blue undertones. Very cool color!

Zoya Margo (2 coats)

For once I'm pretty happy with my color accuracy with this purple! It took years, but maybe I can finally show purples right (maybe). Margo is a deep purple plum creme. I ended up liking this one more than I expected!

Zoya Nyssa (2 coats)

Nyssa is a chocolate brown creme. While this is fine, I think we've seen enough browns from Zoya from the Naturel and Naturel Deux Collection.

Zoya Ryan (2 coats)

And now we come to my favorite of the collection called Ryan. It's a dark navy blue that is so dark that you can just tell that it's not black. The first and last photos are the most color accurate.

Zoya Veronica (2 coats)

Lastly, we have Veronica which is a berry/wine creme which also happens to be my least favorite of the collection. It's fine if you don't already have something like it in your collection, but I feel like I have so many of them.

Overall, this collection is mixed for me since I have some real favorites in here (Ryan and Genevieve) and some meh colors (Veronica and Claire). Of course, this is just my opinion, and my least favorites might be your very favorites! The formula and application was the same for all of them which is opaque but slightly thin. I hope you enjoyed this post and the newest colors from Zoya.

You can purchase these polishes right now on the Zoya website for $9 each or at select salons or Ulta stores. Stay up-to-date with all things Zoya (often including giveaways and sales!) on Twitter or Facebook.
