Zoya Cosmic Trio 2021 Limited Edition Swatches and Reviews

 *press samples*

Hello hello! Zoya has their seasonal collections as well as a few others like the Naturel line that usually comes around once a year. They also do some limited edition shades, and the trio I have to share with you tonight just so happens to be limited. I'm not sure how long these will be available, so if you find any that catch your eye, please don't wait too long to pick them up. This Cosmic Trio contains "holographic shades that are inspired by the unique star clusters of outer space. These astral shades are created with a blend of metallic glitter, and holographic particles in 5 different sizes to give a dynamic effect creating a soft textured finish, but can be paired with Ultra Glossy Top Coat to create a smooth and shiny surface." These retail for $12 each, but if you purchase the set for $36, you get all 3 polishes, 3 of their Z-wide brushes, and their glossy topcoat as well. Swatch time!

Zoya Celestia (3 coats)

Shall we start with my favorite of the 3? Celestia is a silver that leans a bit taupe with blue/purple shifting shimmer and a scattered holographic finish. I just love that pop of shimmer that contrasts from the lighter base. These are a bit sheerer, but they are designed to be that way. I didn't try them as toppers, but a few other bloggers did, and they work great as long as you use really thin coats. They dry with a little texture, but not as much as I expected. I do recommend a thick topcoat to smooth it all out though.

Zoya Eradani (2 coats)

Eradani is a bit different than the other 2. The finish isn't quite the same (the pure holo finish like the others isn't there), but that doesn't mean it isn't beautiful all the same. Eradani is a magenta microglitter with indigo shimmer and a slight holo finish. This one was more opaque, but I found the formula to be a bit gummy, so work slowly.

Zoya Polaris (3 coats)

Last, but not least we have Polaris which is a rose gold microglitter with pink/purple shimmer and a scattered holo finish. I really wanted to love this one, but I just don't think it looks great with my skintone. It's not the polish's fault...I really think this will look beautiful on lots of other people. The formula was good in 3 coats.

There you have it, a short and sweet trio. This is why I love Zoya; most mainstream brands don't do holographic polishes, especially ones with contrasting shimmers. Remember, these can go away at any moment, so pick yours up while you can.

Zoya polishes retail for $12 and you can find out more about them on their websiteFacebookTwitter, or Instagram pages. Keep an eye out for them in your local Ulta store if you want to see the bottles in person before you buy. They often have sales, so check their social media pages periodically.

Noodles Nail Polish 2020 Anniversary Trio Swatches and Reviews

*press samples*

Hi guys! I know I've been a bit quiet here the past few weeks, but for good reason - I'm the blogger of the month for the Polish Gamers box! It works similar to the Polish Pickup setup, but I'll describe that later in the week. Just be prepared for a MASSIVE post. Can you believe Noodles Nail Polish has been around for 7 (!!!) years? That's really something to be proud of, Natalie! To celebrate this milestone, a trio of polishes will be available this Friday, June 12th at 5 PM EST in the Noodles Nail Polish store. The set features 2 flake jellies with contrasting shimmer and a full-coverage micro glitter polish. Each polish will retail for $10 and will be restocked if anything sells out. Ok, less talking and more pictures of pretty polishes!

Noodles Nail Polish September 2019 Polish Pickup Magic and Alchemy: Three Wishes

*press sample*

Hola! Summer's almost over, huh? A co-worker went to Starbucks today because the pumpkin spice latte was released today. I mean, on August 27th?! Is it just me, or is that too early? #controversialtopics Anyway, can you believe the September Polish Pickup (PPU) is upon us once more? I just got my August order yesterday, so I'm all ready to go shopping. Not sure how PPU works? Here's a little refresher: first, definitely join the Polish Pickup Facebook Group. You don't necessarily need to actively participate in the group, but it will give you a look at the polishes that will be available in the coming month. PPU themes are chosen by the people, often a few months in advance (brands need time to find their inspiration and test their polish). Any indie brand that has been around for at least a year can participate and each has their own specific inspiration picture and polish for that month. All you need to do is go to the Polish Pickup site during the pre-order window (the first Friday-Monday of the month) to make all of your purchases of these exclusive polishes. There's no need to pay for multiple shipping charges; since this is a pre-order, all polishes get sent to Polish Pickup and they send you the polishes you ordered. Yup, it's that simple. Oh, and shipping is a flat-rate of $3 to the US ($5 for Canada and more for international). Recently they also opened a UK site which you can find here. Since all orders are pre-orders, shipping will take place about 3 weeks after the end of the pre-order

PPU starts Friday, Sept 6th at 11:00 AM ET and ends on Monday, Sept 9th at 11:59 PM (but if a polish has a cap and sells out before the end of the pre-order, it's gone, unless you get lucky and the cap gets raised...which is rare) on the PPU website. This month's inspiration is Magic and Alchemy, which is quite a broad spectrum. I've got 3 shades to share with you this month, so should we get into Noodles Nail Polish's contribution?

Noodles Nail Polish Three Wishes (3 coats)
Price: $11:50
Cap: None
Inspiration: The Genie from Aladdin

I'll always think of the Genie like this:

not this:

And I'll always think of Robin Williams in the role. Anway, Three Wishes is a bright cornflower blue crelly with blue/gold glitter, holo/gold flakes, and blue shimmer. So much blue and gold, just like the genie! I found it be to be on the sheer side, but it built up to full opacity with 3 coats. The formula was smooth and easy, but it dries with texture from the glitter. If you want easy removal, bust out that peel-off basecoat, or use the foil method.

This one is super sparkly, and I love a good cornflower blue polish.  You can find out more about Noodles Nail Polish on their websiteInstagram pageFacebook page, and Facebook Fan Group while you can learn more about PPU on their Facebook page and website. Have a great night!

Literary Lacquers A Court of Feels and Sparkle Collection Swatches and Reviews

*press samples*

Hi guys! It definitely feels like a Monday. My co-workers have to travel to Chicago for a pen show this weekend, but this is my one show off a year, so I get to stay home and relax with the animals. While I enjoy the shows, they are exhausting and a lot of work. It's been so (too?) long since we've heard from Amy at Literary Lacquers, so I'm happy to report that she's back with a brand new 7-piece collection filled with metallics, glitters, and flakies! This collection is available now for purchase, and every order over $50 (before shipping) from now until May 1st will include a special edition bottle of polish with purchase which I also have to show you. The prices for the new set of polishes range from $10-$12, depending on the shade, or you can purchase the whole collection for a discounted price of $70. I know this doesn't give you much time to purchase to get this special offer, but swatching takes time. Oh, and all older Literary Lacquers collections are 25% off through the 1st as well.

The Court of Feels and Sparkle Collection is inspired by the Sarah J. Maas series A Court of Thorns and Roses. This collection will take you on a journey through the 7 courts of the High Fae of Prythian. Amy promises these will be spoiler-free for those interested in reading the series. I've never read any of these books, but the polishes have definitely piqued my interest. It appears to have 4 books in the series and is a mix of the romance and fantasy genres. I know that was a lot of info thrown at you, so how about we get to some photos? I have 8 polishes to share tonight, so this will be a picture-heavy post.

Ms. Sparkle Spring 2019 Easter Egg Hunt Collection Swatches and Reviews

*press samples*

Hi guys! I told you I had lots of polishes in the works. While I've not been posting many blogs, I've been busy behind-the-scenes swatching a ton of new polishes coming out in the next week or 2. Spring polishes are in full bloom (pun intended), and today I've got a new collection from Ms. Sparkle. Simone is the maker, and she just so happens to be an indie maker from the Netherlands. I know of some indie brands in Australia, the UK, and Brazil, so I was excited to learn that there are others in Europe. I know what you're thinking; what about shipping from the Netherlands? These were shipped first class mail and they arrived a lot sooner than expected. I think I got them in 10 days total, or 7 business days. I believe Simone mentioned that they usually take around 7-10 business days to the US. If you're still not convinced, you can head over to one of the several stockists in the US that feature Ms. Sparkle, and some even have free shipping over $50.

She sent me over her newest collection, Easter Egg Hunt, which will be released on Monday, April 1st in her shop. As you can see from the photo above, this one is full of colorful glitter crellies. I'm so happy there's been a resurgence of true glitter crellies in the indie world.  There are several brands that have stayed true to them, and I'm proud to be able to work with some of them. I was having a discussion with Simone about some of our favorites, and it was clear that she has a passion for them, and has been making them a long time. Again, these will be available on Monday, and they will retail for $9 each.

MLF Lacquer Lovers Collection February 2019 Swatches and Reviews

*press samples*

Hi guys! I meant to have this post up yesterday, but I'm afraid I've caught a bug. I'm still hopeful that I'm not "sick" and it's just my body fighting off infection. That said, there's no rest for the wicked, so onward and upward. Tonight I am so excited to show you the debut collection from the new brand, MLF Lacquer. The shop just opened last night, so these are currently available for purchase. MLF Lacquer stands for Much Love Forever and was inspired by a love for colors, creativity, and nail polish. The initials are also a tribute to Jessica's daughter, Makayla, as they are her initials. I'm sad to report that she passed away from kidney cancer in 2017. What a touching tribute to her daughter. 😢Here is some more information about Jessica and the company:

"My name is Jessica Bumgardner. I currently work full-time as a nurse, but I am putting a lot of time and energy into launching my new business. I have a passion for helping others, especially in times of trouble. I also love helping others find the beauty in themselves, and, of course, nail polish. I will strive to release a quality product with reasonable prices and innovative colors. My goal is always to provide top notch customer service. MLF Lacquer is a brand new small business ran by one person."

The debut collection, The Lovers Collection, is a 4-piece set with names inspired by the Taylor Swift song, "You Are in Love." Each polish is vegan and 5-Free, and retails for $9 each, or $35 for the set. These pictures are hot off the presses, so let's get a closer look.

Noodles Nail Polish Winter 2019 Collection Swatches and Reviews

*press samples*

Hi guys! It's been a busy week for the blog, and we're not done yet. Tonight I've got the Noodles Nail Polish Winter Collection to share with you. This is quite appropriate since so many people are experiencing the Arctic blast hitting the US this week. Please be safe, and make sure to take care of all your pets, too. The set consists of 5 crellies and 1 jelly polish (with a bonus re-release of last year's Eskimo Kiss...Natalie didn't have the recipe anymore, so she recreated it as version 2.0). These will release with the Valentine's Day duo on 2/1/19 at 6:00 PM ET on the new Noodles Nail Polish website. They will retail for $9.50 or $10 depending on the shade (I'll label each with the price below). Enough chatting, shall we get to the good stuff?

Noodles Nail Polish Valentine's Day 2019 Duo Swatches and Reviews

*press samples*

I'm back with another duo, this time for Valentine's Day. This won't be the last you hear about Noodles Nail Polish this week, because I still have the 6-piece Winter 2019 Collection to show you. This Valentine's Day duo will be debuting this Friday, February 1st at 6 PM ET in the brand new Noodles Nail Polish website. Natalie is well-known for her glitter crellies, and it just so happens that both of these are beautiful crellies. These will retail for $9.50 each, and will be sold individually. If they happen to sell out, they will be restocked. Shall we get a closer look?

Noodles Nail Polish Daydreamer (3 thin coats)

Up first we have Daydreamer which is a pale pink crelly base with gold flakes, glitter, and shimmer. This is a soft shade, and I love pink and gold together. Since this one is more pastel-like, it was slightly streaky on the first coat, but built up well with the second. I went ahead with a third just to make sure everything was covered (bright lighting tends to show everything), but you'd be just fine with 2. It dries with a little texture from the glitter, so make sure to use a thicker topcoat to smooth everything out. It also dries with more of a satin finish from the pigment, so topcoat will help with that, too.

Noodles Nail Polish Once Upon a Time (2 coats)

Once Upon a Time is a lavender crelly base with magenta, violet, and fuchsia hexagonal glitters, and fine silver flakes. This is Natalie in a bottle. If you've tried glitter crellies from other brands that were thick and hard to apply, please do yourself a favor and try one from Noodles. I think I'll wear this on my Valentine's date to IHOP (don't ask...yes, our tradition is to eat at IHOP on Valentine's Day). This is 2 easy coats, and it dries with some texture from the glitters. I often get asked what peel-off basecoat I use, and I use the UNT Ready for Take Off. Removal of glitter polishes is easy-peasy.

Noodles ships extremely fast, so you shouldn't have a problem with getting them in time (as long as you're in the US, of course). I honestly don't have a favorite of the 2. Both of these are quintessential Valentine's Day shades, with a Noodles twist. Again, make sure to check them out this Friday at 6 PM. You can find out more about Noodles Nail Polish on their websiteInstagram pageFacebook page, and Facebook Fan Group.

Holiday Nails with Morgan Taylor You Crack Me Up: Swatch and Review

Morgan Taylor You Crack Me Up (2 coats)

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! I've been laying low around here, and that's fine with me. Mr. Nose is still on his meds, so I've been trying to get a routine going for when we have to leave town in a few weeks. We've also been giving him some CBD treats, as per our vet, and that seems to be helping as well.

Tonight I have the polish I've been wearing the last couple days and that's You Crack Me Up by Morgan Taylor. It was a part of their holiday Little Miss Nutcracker Collection from last year. It's a full-coverage bright green glitter base with small gold microglitter. I fully expected needing a third coat, but I was pleasantly surprised that it was fine in 2. The formula was perfect, but I'd recommend a peel-off basecoat or the foil method for removal.

It appears as though Transdesign still has this one in a set with the gel counterpart for just $14 and they are a reputable site. You can find out more about Morgan Taylor on their website, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter pages. Take care!

Emily de Molly Group Customs Swatches and Reviews: Opal Illusion and Symbiosis

Hi guys! It's almost Thanksgiving! I'll probably be taking the rest of the week off to visit with my family. I will definitely be lounging around and eating way too much food. Make sure to check your social media pages often because there will be plenty of Black Friday sales going on. I'll have the Zoya Holiday 2018 collection up soon, as well as some swatches from Starlight and Sparkles. The polishes I have for you tonight cannot be found on the Emily de Molly site because they are group customs. You'll need to join the Emily de Molly Fan Group on Facebook to find the links to purchase them (they are $10 apiece). Hayley said they will be available for several months, so you should have plenty of time before they go away. Shall we get to it?
