More Emily de Molly Swatches and Reviews: Dreams of Glass and The Grey Silence

Hi guys! I'm finally back with another post. I know I've been a bit quiet, but I'll be back with a vengeance with the new year. It's crazy that 2018 has almost come to an end, right? It wasn't the greatest of years, personally, but I'm really happy with how the blog has been going. One thing I am going to bring back in 2019 is Nibs & Nails. I already have a couple brands on tap, and I can't wait to see what they come up with. Any guesses on what brands will be featured? Emily de Molly Swatch and Review: Positive Contact

Hi guys! I hope you've had a good Hump Day. The week is flying by, despite being back from a short work week. Not much is going on here. I ordered a ton of items between Thanksgiving and Cyber Monday, and some of them are making their way to me. One of these items is a new Tuft & Needle Mint mattress which was delivered today. I can't wait to see how we like it! Do any of you out there have one? Tonight I've got a magnetic polish from Australian indie brand Emily de Molly. I have a very strong "c" curve to my nail, so the magnetic line is a little more diffused on the sides compared to those with flatter nails. 

I applied my base coats and the first coat like normal. I then applied a thicker second coat to a single nail and quickly placed the magnet as close to my nail as possible for at least 45 second (or until my hand got tired) before moving on to the next nail. After all nails had 2 coats, I applied a quick-dry topcoat to each nail and placed the magnet over the nail again for about 15 seconds. It sounds like a long process, but it goes pretty fast once you get the hang of it. Positive Contact drew me in from the photos on the Emily de Molly website so you should check them out. It flashes between rose gold, blue, and purple depending on the angle. This one is definitely more beautiful in person. If you have flatter nailbeds, the magnetic line will likely be more striking. 

I'm very particular with the magnetic polishes I purchase and I don't have anything like Positive Contact in my expansive collection. If you don't mind a little extra work in applying your polish, I definitely recommend this one. It is available now for $10 (without the magnet). Emily de Molly Group Customs Swatches and Reviews: Opal Illusion and Symbiosis

Hi guys! It's almost Thanksgiving! I'll probably be taking the rest of the week off to visit with my family. I will definitely be lounging around and eating way too much food. Make sure to check your social media pages often because there will be plenty of Black Friday sales going on. I'll have the Zoya Holiday 2018 collection up soon, as well as some swatches from Starlight and Sparkles. Emily de Molly August 2018 Polish Pickup: Three Words, One Song

Hi guys! Yay, we have hurricane Michael moving through tomorrow. It will mostly dump a bunch of rain on us, but if you are further south, please be careful. Tonight I've got a polish that is no longer available. I know, I try not to show things that are long gone, but I'll try and give some suggestions to some similar polishes you may be interested in. 

Three Words, One Song was the August polish from Emily de Molly which was inspired by the musical Frozen. Truth time: I've never seen Frozen. I was much too old to watch it when it came out, and I'm never around other children, so it just fell to the wayside. Three Words, One Song is a pale purple base with turquoise shimmer, rainbow iridescent flakes, and silver holo microglitter. Look at that huge flake on my middle finger! I love it! The first coat was pretty sheer, but I only needed 2 coats for full coverage. I was honestly expecting to need a third based on what it looked like in the bottle. It dried with a little bit of texture, but was smooth to the touch after a coat of topcoat.

Emily de Molly Nail Colour Swatches and Review: Now and Later

Hi guys! I've been super busy with work, but I just wanted to do a quick review of an Emily de Molly color. I've been sitting on these swatches for a few months, and I have no idea why it's taken me so long to show these. I believe these were also taken with my old camera. I don't know if you guys noticed or not, but I got a new camera earlier this year. I've been super happy with the results, and I hope you are, too. This is the first time I'm showing Emily de Molly on the blog, but I've gone back and made a few purchases because I've been so impressed with the complexity of their polishes. They're an Australian brand, but don't worry, they have a U.S. distribution shipping center so you won't be paying that outrageous international shipping. 

Remember the candy Now and Later? I have a love/hate relationship with them because I like that they last a long time, but I always want to chew it before it's soft enough. Didn't know you were here for candy reviews, huh? Now and Later the polish is a bright neon pink that verges on coral, with small hexagonal silver glitter, and a gold shimmer finish. Emily de Molly has extremely interesting color combinations and often combines different finishes to really make them different than other indies. I used 2 coats for the swatches above, and I had no issues with the formula. 

I bought this one on sale for only $6, and it's still available! It's totally worth it, and do yourself a favor and pick yourself up a couple extra while you're there...you deserve it.
