Hello hello! I know lots of people were waiting for this post as Noodles Nail Polish usually has at least one summer collection. Polish Pickup June 2024 Cartoons Noodles Nail Polish Use Your Noodle

Hello hello! I hope your week is going well. It's going to be a long work week as I have to work about 10 days in a row for a pen show. Luckily I don't have to travel for this one. Polish Pickup starts a little late this month, but this is the last one before the July Rewind where a previous month's polish is re-released based on demand (and ability for the brand to procure the ingredients needed). 

This month's theme is Cartoons and I'm so excited! I'm super old school and watched Looney Tunes as a kid, and I'm still watching cartoons to this day. The inspiration for this month is pretty much endless. Wish listing is already available, so get that cart ready!

The shop officially opens at 11:00 AM ET Friday, June 7th and ends on Monday, June 10th at 11:59 PM (but if a polish has a bottle limit and sells out before the end of the pre-order, it's gone, unless you get lucky and the cap gets raised...which can happen, but you have to be in the Facebook group for the notification) on the PPU website. 

Noodles Nail Polish Use Your Noodle (2 coats with 1 coat of glitter-smoothing topcoat and a coat of QDTC)

I'm not gonna lie, I had to look up PB&J Otter. I'm not surprised I didn't remember it because I was a bit old for it (it debuted in 1998). That said, Use Your Noodle is a beautiful deep violet jelly base with violet/red/purple shifting flakes, and fuchsia/pink/magenta/purple hexagonal glitters. It's so squishy! Since it's a jelly, I expected it to need 3 coats, but I'm happy to report that 2 coats was plenty and it applied flawlessly. I did find it was easier to dab the first coat a bit to sort of place the glitter and flakes, and then use regular strokes for the second one. It does dry with lots of texture due to the flakes and glitter, so I recommend a glitter-smoothing topcoat followed by a layer of quick-dry topcoat for that glassy finish. If not, you're going to feel the polish on the nails and the polish may end up "eating" the topcoat a bit. I love it!

Zoya Color of the Month May 2024: Paisley

Zoya Paisley (2 coats)

Hi everyone! Tonight I've got the latest Zoya COTM, Paisley. This is available now for $12 through the Zoya website, and you can get free shipping and 25% off other items in your order with code PAISLEY.  The polish is a bright orchid purple creme that covers completely in just 2 easy coats. In the bottle, the polish looks a little streaky, but this didn't come out in the application at all. It does dry a bit satin because it's so bright, so you'll need a topcoat for a shiny finish. It's a super pretty color, and it's on my toes right now.

January 2024 Polished Gamers Box: Naps and Nails My Biggest Adventure Yet

Hello yet again! The next polish I have to share with you from Naps and Nails is for the Polished Gamers Box.  It doesn't matter if you're a gamer or not; these polishes from the makers are so fun and beautiful. You may remember this box used to be monthly, but they recently changed to a quarterly schedule with each quarter having a different theme. What a shifty polish! This one is so amazing! My Biggest Adventure Yet is a teal base with loads of shimmery shifts of purple, green, and gold. I have a prominent C curve on my nail, so this one is extra shifty on my nails. This one applied perfectly in just 2 coats, and it dried with no texture. It needed only one coat of topcoat, and removal was a breeze.

Hello hello! It's Monday yet again, but I'm super excited because my parents will be coming to visit this weekend! I don't get to see them often enough (they live out-of-state), so I appreciate any time we can spend together. Tonight I have 3 polishes from Naps and Nails for Hella Handmade Creations (HHC) which starts later this week. New to HHC? It works similarly to Polish Pickup where there's a pre-order for exclusive polishes with themes chosen by the brands participating. The pre-order opens every month on the 14th @ 12:01 am Eastern time and closes on the 21st @ 11:59 pm Hawaii time. Hello hello! It's a short work week and I'm loving it. I hope those of you in the US had a wonderful Labor Day on Monday. I rested up after my travels to San Francisco and I'm fine with that. My husband's birthday is this weekend so we'll be celebrating. Tonight I've got a 4-piece Halloween Collection inspired by Rugrats, Hey Arnold, Doug, and The Wild Thornberries. I was born in the 80's, so I was a little on the older side for a couple of these shows, but I definitely watched some Doug, Hey Arnold, Rocko's Modern Life, and The Angry Beavers on Nickelodeon. These will be available on Sunday, September 10th on the Naps and Nails website for $13 each or all 4 for just $50.

Goodness, we have another solar polish! I really hope you can see the difference between the indoor and outdoor lighting. Unpredictable is a bright pink crelly base in indoor lighting that changes to a purple in the sunlight with an iridescent rainbow flake finish. This one basically applied itself in just 2 coats, and it dried with minimal texture (a regular topcoat is plenty to smooth any bumps).

Hi everyone! I spent the last weekend traveling to San Francisco for work, and, as usual, it was a beautiful mid-70s with not a cloud in the sky. I can't imagine living in a place without true seasons, but maybe I could learn to enjoy it. I've spent this week working and trying to catch back up on sleep. This month's theme is Scary Vibes, which is perfect timing for some upcoming Halloween manicures. Despite this being a pre-order, you should get your items in plenty of time (unless you are international). The shop is up for wishlisting, so let the shopping commence!

Noodles Nail Polish It's Freakin Bats (2 coats)

Inspiration: a haunted house at dusk

Price: $11.50

Bats are cool. I love watching What We Do in the Shadows and they yell "BAT!" and turn into a bat. It's Freakin Bats is a deep violet jelly base that leans a bit crelly with matte and holo black glitters, orange iridescent glitters, and orange holo glitters in hexagonal shapes. Just look at those iridescent glitters! They really glow on the nails. The formula was perfect in 2 coats, and I used regular strokes followed by dabbing motions for placing the glitters on the nail. It does dry with texture from the larger glitters, so I recommend a glitter topcoat followed by a quick-dry topcoat, or 2 coats of a thicker topcoat to smooth it all out.
