Great Lakes Lacquer Polishing Poetic Collection Swatches and Reviews: The Holos

*purchased with a blogger discount*

Hi guys! Surprise, I love Great Lakes Lacquers! Ok, that's not really surprising, but I had to profess my love. You guys know that I don't often buy whole collections unless I am send full collections for review. I unfortunately don't have quite that much disposable income to justify buying ALL THE POLISH! When I saw the first set of swatches from the Polishing Poetic collection, I knew I was buying the whole set. I couldn't find one that I didn't need. It's an 8-piece multichrome set with various finishes inspired by different poets. I'll be the first to admit that some poetry goes above my head (I think it's my straightforward science brain), but I'm still intrigued by it. Since this is a large collection, I will be breaking them up into different parts. Tonight features the holographic multichrome colors. If you missed the first restock of the collection, no fear, they are back in stock on the Great Lakes Lacquer website. Follow me after the break for my thoughts and additional photos.

Darling Diva Pokemon Go Collection Swatches & Review: Not Another 2k Egg!

Darling Diva Not Another 2K Egg (2 coats)

Hi guys! I hope you had a great weekend and a decent Monday. Tonight is the finale of Dancing With the Stars and The Bachelorette starts back up. I know I should hate these silly reality tv shows, but they always suck me in! I showed you a few polishes from Darling Diva a few weeks ago, and unfortunately a couple of the ones I planned on showing you are now out of stock. Do you guys still want me to show them to you? Let me know in the comments.

Not Another 2K Egg comes from the Darling Diva Pokémon Go inspired collection which was released towards the end of 2016. I was into Pokémon go for awhile, but it has fallen to the wayside like many other apps. I do remember wanting a 5k or a 10k egg though! Not Another 2k Egg is a pale green crelly with various colors of ultrachrome flakes. Despite being pale, I didn't find the formula to be thick or chalky or anything. I did have a little bit of difficulty with the photography on this one. You can probably tell from the pictures that it gave me a bad case of lobster hands. I did color-correct the photos slightly, but I didn't want to over-do it or alter the polish color. This is a unique polish in my collection, and I definitely recommend it.

I just saw some swatches from Cosmetic Sanctuary of a new collection from Darling Diva...and it has a lot of unicorn pee. You have been warned. To find out more about Darling Diva, stop by their website, Instagram, or Facebook pages.

Hi guys! I can finally welcome you back to Nibs & Nails. You know, the segment where I ask indie makers to dupe (or just be inspired by) popular fountain pen inks. I know it has been a hot minute since I've posted one of these, but you know...life. Tonight features the brand Cameo Colours Lacquers. Don't forget, Cameo's Spring Collection is out right now and I reviewed them on the blog a couple weeks ago (link here). If you haven't checked Cameo out, I definitely recommend you do so! I asked her to work on the latest shimmery J Herbin ink, Caroube de Chypre. Stay tuned to the end of the post for your chance to win this exclusive shade!

As always, to see an in-depth review of the ink, please check out my husband's blog post on Inkdependence. Without further ado, let's get started!

Mont Bleu Glass Nail Files and Manicure Tools Review

*press samples*

Hi guys! How often do you use a nail file? If you're like me, you have one on hand at all times just in case you get a snag on your nail. While nail implements aren't the sexiest thing to talk about, they are vital to good nails and a good manicure. I was recently contacted by Mont Bleu, one of the most popular manufacturers of Czech-made glass nail files, to review a few of their cuticle tools and nail files. If you are still using emery-board style nail files, I will urge you to seek out a glass file. There are many benefits of using a glass file over metal or cardboard ones. Check out Nail Luxxe's top 5 reasons for using a glass file. Shall we see what they sent over?

Vapid Lacquer 2017 Curiouser & Curiouser Collection Swatches and Review: Whooo Are Youuu

Vapid Lacquer Whooo Are Youuu (3 coats)

Hi guys! I know, I'm posting on Sunday -again! I felt bad about my lack of posts lately because of all the travel for my job. Check back again this week for a Nibs & Nails giveaway featuring Cameo Colours Lacquers! A couple weeks ago I bought Whooo Are Youuu from Vapid Lacquer's Curiouser & Curiouser Collection. All of the colors from the collection looked pretty, but I still have a ton of polishes to swatch, so I just bought Whooo Are Youuu.

Whooo Are Youuu is a blackened base with a purple/green/gold/pink multichrome flash and silver holographic flakes. Whoa! I was super impressed with how intense the shift was in this one. You could probably get away with 2 coats, but I did 3 for good measure and for added depth. The formula was buttery smooth with no issues to report. Whooo Are Youuu is a little expensive at $12 for 15 mL, but it's totally worth it.
