Tonight I have the massive 8-piece fall collection from Noodles Nail Polish. I know fall happens to be Natalie's favorite season so she really goes all-out for these collections. Hello hello! It's Monday yet again, but I'm super excited because my parents will be coming to visit this weekend! I don't get to see them often enough (they live out-of-state), so I appreciate any time we can spend together. Tonight I have 3 polishes from Naps and Nails for Hella Handmade Creations (HHC) which starts later this week. New to HHC? It works similarly to Polish Pickup where there's a pre-order for exclusive polishes with themes chosen by the brands participating. The pre-order opens every month on the 14th @ 12:01 am Eastern time and closes on the 21st @ 11:59 pm Hawaii time. During this time customers are able to shop all different brands within the shop and have everything ship from one location. This month Naps and Nails will continue their series on The Nun, Annabelle, and Conjuring Collection as well as having a special Halloween duo only available this month.

Polish Pickup May 2023 Junk Food: Noodles Nail Polish Dunkie Junkie

Hello hello! I hope your week is off to a good start. Tonight I'll be sharing the first of 2 posts for this week from Noodles Nail Polish. This is a short one for Polish Pickup, while the 8-piece Spring Collection will be posted in the next day or 2, so stop back soon. This month's PPU theme is junk food, and I'm all for it. Give me all of the candy, desserts, and fast food. Don't worry, I always make sure to eat it in moderation. Wishlisting is open, so you can browse at your leisure until it goes live on Friday, May 5th. Also make sure to join the Polish Pickup Pack Facebook Group as swatches pop up there all the time. 

The shop officially opens at 11:00 AM ET Friday, May 5th and ends on Monday, May 8th at 11:59 PM (but if a polish has a bottle limit and sells out before the end of the pre-order, it's gone, unless you get lucky and the cap gets raised...which is rare) on the PPU website. Just a heads-up, PPU raised their base shipping rates from $3 to $4 for the lightest packages. USPS keeps raising their prices, so at some point it gets too high and brands cannot eat those prices forever. If you get heavier items, I believe shipping prices get higher. Noodles Nail Polish Dunkie Junkie (2 coats)

Inspiration: Natalie's love of Dunkin' Donuts

I love a good donut, so I'll stop at Dunkin' any time (although my favorite donuts are from our hometown place run by a Cambodian couple). I think the coffee drinks are even more popular than their donuts! Dunkie Junkie is a white crelly base with magenta and orange matte hexagonal glitters and a fine sprinkling of fine holo silver glitters. Natalie's white crellies are some of my favorites, and this is no different. I went ahead and used 2 thicker coats for full opacity (you may need 3 coats if you use really thin coats), and it dried with texture from all the glitters. I recommend using a glitter topcoat to get that glass-like finish, but 2 coats of a thicker topcoat will work in a pinch.

Hello again! I told you I'd be back soon with some spooky shades from Noodles Nail Polish. This 4-piece collection contains 2 glitter toppers and 2 crellies. Noodles Nail Polish Hei Girl Hei (2 coats)

I have a confession to make: I've never seen Moana. I know! Am I really missing out? Should I watch it this weekend? Hei Girl Hei is a deep teal crelly base with metallic and holo orange glitters and a touch of holo turquoise glitters. While this is really dark shade, it doesn't look black or anything. I love how the glitters look in the squishy base color! I used 2 coats for full opacity, and it dried with texture from all the glitters. I would recommend 2 coats of topcoat, or a glitter topcoat followed by a QDTC for that smooth finish.

Polish Pickup September 2021 Trick or Treat Swatches and Reviews

Wait, you mean to tell me it's September already? And did I hear recently that I should be buying Christmas presents NOW because things are going to be a mess near the end of the year? I'm just not ready for any of that! Please tell me I'm not the only one. I just got back from San Francisco a couple days ago for work, and I also forgot how hard a 3 hour time change messes with your sleep. I haven't been out of the Eastern Time Zone since 2019! This month's PPU theme is aptly Trick or Treat.  Wishlisting is up now on the website and I'm blown away by the variety of inspirations. New to PPU? If so, here's how it works:

Definitely join the Polish Pickup Facebook Group. You don't necessarily need to actively participate in the group, but it will give you a look at the polishes that will be available in the coming month. PPU themes are chosen by the people, often a few months in advance (brands need time to find their inspiration and test their polish). Any indie brand that has been around for at least a year can participate and each has their own specific inspiration picture and polish for that month. All you need to do is go to the Polish Pickup site during the pre-order window (the first Friday-Monday of the month) to make all of your purchases of these exclusive polishes. There's no need to pay for multiple shipping charges; since this is a pre-order, all polishes get sent to Polish Pickup and they send you the polishes you ordered. Yup, it's that simple. Oh, and shipping is a flat-rate of $3 to the US (more for international and they just had to increase the pricing to Canada). Since all orders are pre-orders, shipping will take place about 3 weeks after the end of the pre-order.

Zoya Easy Neons 2021 Collection Swatches and Reviews

Hi everyone! I'm just now finally getting around to posting some Zoya polishes, and I have a few more to come because I'm behind. On the bright side, Zoya keeps their polishes around (very few limited editions), so these are still available. The Easy Neons Collection is a 6-piece set of neons that claim to be opaque in 2 coats with no special base coats needed and a streak-free application. Neons are notoriously difficult to apply and photograph, but I didn't have too much of an issue with these. Will these live up to their lofty claims? These are available now on the Zoya website for $12 each.

I hate driving to and from work in the dark 😞 Other than that, I've basically been going to work and staying home as much as possible. Very exciting stuff as we all know too well. Hi folks! Not only are we getting my custom with Noodles Nail Polish on Monday, but Natalie's been busy doing a collaboration with the famous Jodi's Polish on YouTube. Hi guys! Whew, Monday's are always crazy at work. Not much else is going on around here except for working out and having fun with polymer clay. The main issue I have with working out is having enough time in the evenings. After my hour commute home, workout, shower, and dinner, it's time to go to bed. There just aren't enough hours in the day! 

Tonight I have a brand I've never shared on the blog, but I'm not new to wearing their polishes. I've purchased several polishes from NeVerMind Polish through Polish Pickup, but I tend not to show the polishes I purchase through PPU because they are no longer available. I try and keep the blog for polishes people can get their hands on. The All Hallows Collection is a 4-piece set with shimmers, flakies, and an intense glow-in-the-dark topper. These will be available this Friday, October, 11th for $10 each. Also being released this Friday is Mattefy Me, a matte topcoat for $7.50. Hi guys! Apparently fall is in the air, but you'd never guess it from the hot days we've been having in NC. Yeah, nothing feels less like fall than 90 degree days. That said, new fall polish collections can really set the mood! Fall is Natalie from Noodles Nail Polish's favorite season, and it really shows. She has a little bit of everything for this collection: glitter toppers, flakies, holo, and glitter crellies (oh my!). Most collections consist of 6 polishes, but she went ahead and sneaked a 7th one in there just for us.

It all begins at 11:00 AM ET on the PPU website and runs through 11:59 PM ET. California Lovin' Indies Duo April 2019 featuring Static Lacquer and Moonshine Mani

Hi guys! I'm really loving these short work weeks, so I'm going to be very disappointed next week. Tonight I've got the next installment of the California Lovin' Indies Collaboration box where Stacy from Static Lacquer works with other indie brands in the great state of California. I've noticed how many brands come from California, so I think this is a wonderful way for brands to join forces. This month features Phoebe from Moonshine Mani and her popular YouTube channel. The duo goes on pre-order Friday, April 19th at 8 AM PST through Monday, April 22nd at 11:59 PM PST in the Static Lacquer website. The duo will retail for $22 + shipping and will also include a holo vinyl sticker and a 4-piece set of magnets (shown below). 

Stacy and Phoebe took inspiration from the blooming poppy field reserve in Antelope Valley. They discovered in their talking of inspiration that they actually lived in the same place just at different times in California. It's such a small world, isn't it?

The California state flower is the poppy, and I've been lucky enough to visit the state many times to enjoy these beauties. I grew up used to the red poppies, and was pleasantly surprised at the orange variety in California. Did you know that there are over 120 different varieties of poppies? Antelope Valley Reserve contains over 1700-acres of land and is part of the Mojave Desert. Has anyone been there? 

MAGNETS!

Each duo purchased will come with 4 mini magnet cabochons painted with the 2 polishes (2 of each kind). They are smaller than a penny, and perfect for your Helmer or refrigerator. 

 Moonshine Mani Antelope Valley Gold (3 coats)

Up first from Moonshine Mani is Antelope Valley Gold which is an orange jelly base with gold shimmer and orange/yellow/green iridescent flakies and red/bronze/copper ucc flakies. It fully covered in 3 thin coats since it's a jelly, and it had a perfect formula. If you use thicker coats, you may be able to get away with 2 coats. It dried to a semi-glossy finish with no discernible texture. I love orange, so I knew this duo was going to be right up my alley. 

Static Lacquer Poppy Fields (2 coats)

I love a good white crelly polish, and Stacy gave us a beauty. Poppy Fields is a white crelly base with different sizes of orange and green hexagonal holo glitter. I'm used to polishes like this needing 3 coats, but this one was very opaque and needed just 2 of them. It dried with a satin finish with minimal texture despite the abundance of glitter.

Chirality Polish Polished Gamers Exclusive Swatches and Review: Side Quest

Hi guys! I've got a quick post to share with you tonight. Chirality Polish has an April exclusive for the Polished Gamers Facebook Group. Chirality Polish Side Quest (2 coats)

This one is inspired by the game Fable 3, and I just so happen to be a huge fan of the game. I would make my husband a ton of money in the game by doing monotonous jobs like chopping wood, bar-tending, and forging swords. Apparently I have great patience for menial things like that. Side Quest is a reddish orange base with gold holo glitters, red to gold shifting pigment, and gold shimmer. The gold shimmer really stands out in lower light, while the holo glitters sparkle in the sunlight. I used 2 thin coats for my photos, and it applied easily. It dried with a tiny bit of texture due to the glitters, but it smoothed out with a layer of topcoat.

Leesha's Lacquer Happy to be Bayou (2 coats)

Happy to be Bayou is a deep violet base with gold shimmer/flakes and pink/green aurora shimmer. The aurora shimmer really stands out in this one! It needed just 2 coats for full opacity, and had a nice thicker consistency with no texture.

Pourvior, foi, justice is a flakie topper with the 3 colors of Mardi Gras with purple, gold, and green flakes and a touch of holo shimmer. This one is chock full of flakies, and just one thin coat laid down plenty of flakes. It dried with no texture and a perfect consistency.

Leesha's Lacquer Bayou a Beignet (3 coats)

Bayou a Beignet is my top pick of the show specials. I know, no surprise there. This is a light cream crelly base with a rainbow of ucc flakies. I'm used to seeing flakies with grey or white bases, but I've never seen anything like this one. It was a bit sheer, to really make the flakes pop, but it fully covered in 3 thin coats (and dried with minimal texture). 

Leesha's Lacquer Crawfish, Crayfish, Crawdad (2 coats)

What a great name for a polish! What do you call them in your neck of the woods? I think we used crawfish and crayfish interchangeably in Ohio. Anyway, this one is a bright red shimmer with iridescent blue flakes in the background. This one was very pigmented and needed just 2 coats for full coverage. It dried with no texture and was easy to remove. 

Leesha's Lacquer Down the MIGHTY MISSISSIPPI (2 coats)

Down the MIGHTY MISSISSIPPI is an eye-searing neon orange with green contrasting shimmer and various ucc flakes. You know I love contrasting shimmers, so this is another top pick for me. This would also make for a great pedicure. I used 2 coats for my photos, and the formula was slightly thicker, but not problematic. Love it! 

Leesha's Lacquer Fais Do Do (3 coats)

Fais Do Do is a flakie-filled multichrome that shifts from blue to purple. Pictures really don't do this one justice. You can either use 3 thinner coats (as I did above), or use it as a topper over your favorite base. It dried with some texture due to the amount of flakes, but had a really good formula. You can use either 1 coat of a thicker topcoat to smooth it out, or 2 coats of a thin one. 

Leesha's Lacquer From MLPS to LA (2 coats)

From MLPS to LA is a neon blue base with small iridescent glitters and larger iridescent flakes with a scattered holo finish. Spring is the perfect time for these iridescent flakes, and I'm so happy to see them in more polishes. This one was opaque in 2 coats, and dried with just a little texture. 

Leesha's Lacquer Who Dat? (2 coats)

Who Dat? is another top pick for me. It's a bright raspberry purple base with iridescent flakes and aurora shimmer. Not only do we have those beautiful flakes again, but this time it comes with aurora shimmer! This one applied like From MLPS to LA, so check that out above. 

Leesha's Lacquer Who Do? VOODOO (2 coats)

I apologize I took so many picture of Who Do? VOODOO, but I wanted to really capture the complexity here. It's a deep blurple holo with a blue/pink/gold/multichrome effect. The holo is strong with this one, and the multichrome effect adds interest in low light. It applied perfectly in just 2 coats, and dried with no texture. Love it!
