Hello hello! Happy Thanksgiving to my American readers! I know it has been a hot minute since I've posted, but I've been busy with work this month. I'll actually be having Thanksgiving next week with my family instead of tomorrow. Don't worry, I'll still be watching the Macy's Parade and the dog show. Tonight I've got the Noodles Nail Polish Holiday Collection to share with you. It is a 6-piece collection of glitter and flakie goodness. Oh, and the NNP Black Friday sale starts at the same time! Noodles Nail Polish Halloween 2024 Duo Swatches and Reviews

Happy Hump Day! As promised, I've got the Noodles Nail Polish Halloween duo to share with you. This set has a crelly and glitter topper that will be available this Saturday, October 5th at 5 PM EST. Don't worry, these will be sold individually for $10.50 if one happens to suit your fancy more than the other. Shall we get to some swatches? 

Noodles Nail Polish Boo La La (2 coats)

I know some of you may have been sad that the Fall Collection didn't have a white crelly, but that's because Natalie was saving it for the Halloween Collection! Boo La La is a bright white crelly base with metallic purple glitters, and matte black/neon purple/neon green/magenta glitters in circular and hexagonal shapes in various sizes. I used 2 medium coats for my swatches, but if you use thinner ones, you may need a third. This one dries with lots of texture, so I definitely recommend a glitter-smoothing topcoat.

And the second polish from the set is Hollaback Ghoul which is a scattered holo topper with color shifting flakes, metallic purple glitters, and matte purple/magenta/black/neon green glitters in circular and hexagonal shapes. I love now the neon green circular glitter is found in both of these polishes! This one can be used alone in 3 coats (with just a little visible nail line showing), or as a topper for any of your ghoulish shades. Again, this one dries with texture with all the glitter and flakes, but it's totally worth it!

Hello hello! I know lots of people were waiting for this post as Noodles Nail Polish usually has at least one summer collection. Not only do I have the 7 to show you tonight, but I'm happy to report that there will be another one next month! The collection contains 6 glitter crellies and one glitter topper. The extra polish in this set is for Natalie's 11th anniversary! Congratulations to her for pursuing her passion with a successful business for such a long time! Hello hello! I hope your week has been going well. Honestly, mine hasn't been great. I just lost my Clipsy cat in December, and now my other almost 19 year-old cat Mr. Nose isn't doing well and we've been a worried mess. That said, there are lots of things to brighten your day, like nail polish. Nail polish is my form of self-care and I've been doing it for decades. I hope nail polish is your safe haven as well. Naps and Nails July 2023 Hella Handmade Creations: Mary Points the Way

Hi everyone! Tonight I have a brand that has never been featured here before. I'm honored to be working with Naps and Nails, and if you know me, I'm a huge fan of both naps AND nails. We got a solar polish! I haven't had the chance to review or swatch that many solar polishes, so it took a little practice to make sure my swatches looked presentable. Mary Points the Way is a sheer white crelly base when in the shade that shifts into a light shadowy grey when in the sun, loaded with iridescent rainbow flakes. I ended up using 3 thin coats for my swatches, but it had a perfect formula, and dried with minimal texture. If you're interested in trying a solar polish for the first time, I definitely recommend checking this one out. You'll be amazed at how fast this one changes from white to grey as soon as you go outside.

Hello hello! Anyone else thinking today is Monday instead of Tuesday because of Memorial Day? I spent a bit too much this weekend with all of the sales, how about you? Of course I kept a little money aside for Polish Pickup that starts on Friday. The PPU theme is misheard song lyrics, and the names of all these polishes this month are cracking me up! I'm equally guilty on mishearing lyrics, and when I finally figure out the correct ones, I always feel so embarrassed. Honestly, I don't know how makers translated wrong lyrics into a nail polish, but I guess that's why I only swatch and don't create polishes! Wishlisting is open, so you can browse at your leisure until it goes live on Friday, June 2nd. Also make sure to join the Polish Pickup Pack Facebook Group as swatches pop up there all the time. 

The shop officially opens at 11:00 AM ET Friday, June 2nd and ends on Monday, May 5th at 11:59 PM (but if a polish has a bottle limit and sells out before the end of the pre-order, it's gone, unless you get lucky and the cap gets raised...which is rare) on the PPU website. Just a heads-up, PPU raised their base shipping rates from $3 to $4 for the lightest packages. USPS keeps raising their prices, so at some point it gets too high and brands cannot eat those prices forever. If you get heavier items, I believe shipping prices get higher. I love Blink-182, and while I've never been able to see them in concert, I saw the side project Boxcar Racer with Tom and Travis. After the show I even got to meet them both! That was the highlight of my college years. Anyway, this month's polish is Walk Alone or Wear Cologne (Natalie, I 100% thought the lyrics were "walk alone") which is a white crelly base with matte blue/yellow glitters, sky blue holo glitters, and a touch of holo flakies. Don't be mistaken, this is definitely white. I went ahead and used 2 thicker coats for my photos, and I used a glitter smoothing topcoat followed by a QDTC for that smooth finish you see here.

This is a short one for Polish Pickup, while the 8-piece Spring Collection will be posted in the next day or 2, so stop back soon. This month's PPU theme is junk food, and I'm all for it. Noodles Nail Polish Dunkie Junkie (2 coats)

Inspiration: Natalie's love of Dunkin' Donuts 

Price: $11.50

Bottle Limit: None

I love a good donut, so I'll stop at Dunkin' any time (although my favorite donuts are from our hometown place run by a Cambodian couple). I think the coffee drinks are even more popular than their donuts! Dunkie Junkie is a white crelly base with magenta and orange matte hexagonal glitters and a fine sprinkling of fine holo silver glitters. Natalie's white crellies are some of my favorites, and this is no different. I went ahead and used 2 thicker coats for full opacity (you may need 3 coats if you use really thin coats), and it dried with texture from all the glitters. I recommend using a glitter topcoat to get that glass-like finish, but 2 coats of a thicker topcoat will work in a pinch.

Polish Pickup February 2023 from Noodles Nail Polish: Movie Quotes

Oh goodness, how is January almost over? This week is a wonderful week because I'm using a week of vacation time! I'm not going anywhere or seeing anyone, but I'm totally ok with a quiet staycation. How do you spend your quiet vacations (if you've ever had one)? This Friday Polish Pickup is upon us once again. Wishlisting went up last night, so you can browse at your leisure until it goes live on Friday, February 3rd. This month's theme is Movie Quotes which is quite open-ended. Unless the quote is descriptive, I think makers could take liberties while making a polish. Also make sure to join the Polish Pickup Pack Facebook Group as swatches pop up there all the time.

Noodles Nail Polish Mermaid Dancing (2 coats)

Inspiration: Pitch Perfect Quote "I can sing but I'm also good at modern dance, olden dance, and mermaid dancing"

Price: $11.50

Bottle Limit: None

While I don't like musicals, I absolutely loved Pitch Perfect! My husband loves Anna Kendrick, so I think that's what pushed us to watch it in the first place. Mermaid Dancing is a white crelly with matte and holo turquoise/blue/purple/fuchsia glitters, neon purple circular glitters, and a touch of holo flakes. Natalie knows how to make the perfect white crelly, and I only needed 2 medium coats for full opacity. This one does dry with texture due to all of the glitters, so I recommend a glitter topcoat followed by a quick-dry topcoat to get that smooth finish you see in my photos. 

Just a quick tip on using a glitter topcoat: I've read that some people have had some issues with the glitter topcoat not fully "filling in" the gaps made from glitter, and it's due to not being patient between the last polish coat and using the glitter topcoat. It's recommended that you wait several minutes for the polish to dry before adding the glitter topcoat because if the top layer is still wet, the glitter topcoat sort of gets sucked up into that final layer instead of filling in gaps and floating on top. Hopefully this is making sense. If you are having any issues, please feel free to ask.
