Naps and Nails Hella Handmade Creations September 2023 Polish and Halloween Duo

 *press samples*

Hello hello! It's Monday yet again, but I'm super excited because my parents will be coming to visit this weekend! I don't get to see them often enough (they live out-of-state), so I appreciate any time we can spend together. Tonight I have 3 polishes from Naps and Nails for Hella Handmade Creations (HHC) which starts later this week. New to HHC? It works similarly to Polish Pickup where there's a pre-order for exclusive polishes with themes chosen by the brands participating. The pre-order opens every month on the 14th @ 12:01 am Eastern time and closes on the 21st @ 11:59 pm Hawaii time. During this time customers are able to shop all different brands within the shop and have everything ship from one location. This month Naps and Nails will continue their series on The Nun, Annabelle, and Conjuring Collection as well as having a special Halloween duo only available this month.

Shall we get a closer look at these shades?

The InD Box August 2023 Fairies Just Wand to Have Fun with Naps and Nails The Angry Sea

 *press sample*

Hello hello! It's yet another manic Monday here in North Carolina! It's still hot everyday with it being in the mid-90s most days. How is it in your neck of the woods? Tonight I have a polish from Naps and Nails for the collaboration box The InD Box. This is what they have to say about the box:

"The InD Box is a collaboration of indie products. The products are available for pre-order for 2 weeks starting the third Friday of every other month. Products ship together from our headquarters 2-4 weeks after the store closes. If placing multiple orders, they are combined and shipping refunded."

I really like how this one is every other month as it gives you time to breathe and save up for the upcoming month. I also really like the full two weeks to shop instead of 4 days to a week for other boxes like PPU or HHC. This month's theme is Fairies Just Wand to Have Fun and the items will be available tomorrow, August 22nd at 8 PM ET through September 6th at 11:59 PM ET

Naps and Nails The Angry Sea (2 coats, indoor light)

Naps and Nails The Angry Sea (2 coats, outdoors)
Inspiration: The Brother Grimm story, The Fisherman's and His Wife
Price: $13
Bottle Limit: 100 bottles

We got another solar polish! In indoor light, The Angry Sea is more of light grey or silver linear holo polish that shifts to a deeper shade of blue that leans grey in sunlight. Even in the shade, there's enough light to make this change, and it changes extremely quickly. I ended up using 2 thicker coats for my swatches, but you could also use 3 thinner ones for full opacity (and also depending on your application and nail length). This one dried with no texture and needed just a single coat of topcoat for that shiny finish. Love it!

Don't forget, you can pick this one up starting tomorrow. While there, make sure to check out the other goodies available. You can find out more info about Naps and Nails on their Instagram or Facebook group pages.

Naps and Nails July 2023 Hella Handmade Creations: Mary Points the Way

 *press sample*

Hi everyone! Tonight I have a brand that has never been featured here before. I'm honored to be working with Naps and Nails, and if you know me, I'm a huge fan of both naps AND nails. Head on over to their shop to see some of the previous goodies she has had available. I have a couple polishes to share this week as well as a 5-piece collection that will be available next week. Definitely stop back to see these beauties. Tonight I have the Naps and Nails Hella Handmade Creations (HHC) polish for July 2023. Shall we get a closer look at the Naps and Nails shade for the month?

Naps and Nails Mary Points the Way (3 coats)
Theme: The Nun/ Annabelle/ Conjuring Collection
Inspiration: The Nun
Price: $13.50
Bottle Limit: 100 soft/250 hard

We got a solar polish! I haven't had the chance to review or swatch that many solar polishes, so it took a little practice to make sure my swatches looked presentable. Mary Points the Way is a sheer white crelly base when in the shade that shifts into a light shadowy grey when in the sun, loaded with iridescent rainbow flakes. I ended up using 3 thin coats for my swatches, but it had a perfect formula, and dried with minimal texture. If you're interested in trying a solar polish for the first time, I definitely recommend checking this one out. You'll be amazed at how fast this one changes from white to grey as soon as you go outside.

Remember to set your calendar for the 14th, and you can check out the website now to make your wishlist.

Noodles Nail Polish Winter Collection 2023 Swatches and Reviews

 *press samples*

Hello hello! I hope you had a wonderful Valentine's Day! If you're an old reader of the blog, you'll know my husband and I go to IHOP for Valentine's Day, but we decided to change it up this year and get our packcakes elsewhere. The service just isn't great (likely because it's not a destination spot for a Valentine's Day dinner 😂) so it's time for something new. If you missed it, don't forget to check out last week's post featuring the Valentine's Day trio. It's been a busy couple weeks of releases for Noodles Nail Polish! Tonight I have the new 8-piece collection to share with you, and it will be available this Friday, February 17th at 5 PM EST on the Noodles website for $10.50.

This is gonna be very pic-heavy, so let's get to it, shall we?

Noodles Nail Polish Valentine's Collection 2023 Swatches and Reviews

 *pr sample*

Hello hello! I bet you were surprised to see I had another post already. I got a big package of polishes from Noodles Nail Polish with the first set being the Valentine's Day trio I have to share with you tonight. I just finished swatching the Winter Collection and it has a whopping 8 polishes, so stay tuned for that in the next week, too. This trio has 2 crellies and a glitter topper that will be available this Saturday, February 4th at 5 PM EST for $10.50 each

One change you'll see with this set is the addition of a fan brush opposed to the wide squared brushes that have been on the polishes for the past several years. The stock already poured and on the website still have the old brushes, but new collections will have the fan brushes. The caps and bottles are exactly the same. The brushes won't be available as replacements, but a few other makers sell them if you want to switch over. Honestly, this new brush is a game changer. It really made application a breeze. Here's a picture Natalie showed comparing the old vs. the new.

Shall we get a closer look at these polishes?

Noodles Nail Polish Winter and Valentine's Day Collection 2022 Swatches and Reviews

 *press samples*

Hello again! I told you I wouldn't be away for long! Apparently there's another huge snowstorm sweeping across most of the US in the next few days. I hope everyone stays safe out there! NC is lucky in that we will only get some rain out of the deal. Tonight I've got the new 8-piece Noodles Nail Polish Winter Collection and Valentine's Day duo. As usual, there's a wide variety of finishes here including crellies, jellies, and glitter toppers so there's a little bit for everyone.

These will be available this Friday, February 4th at 6 PM EST on the Noodles website and all polishes will retail for just $10 each. Buckle up, and I hope you're ready for some glitter!

Polish Pickup February 2022 90s TV Swatches and Reviews

*press samples*

Hi everyone! It's been a hot minute since I've posted, and I hope the start to the year has been going well for you. I've been working from home more lately with the increasing COVID numbers. Other than that, it's been really quiet around here. Tonight I've got a couple of this month's Polish Pickup shades and I'll be back later this week to share the new Noodles Nail Polish Winter and Valentine's Day polishes. I promise I won't be as much of a stranger around here. This month's inspiration is 90s TV, and boy did I watch a ton of tv during the 90s! I was born in the 80s, so I was full in on watching all the must-see tv and TGIF shows during the 90s.

New to PPU? If so, here's how it works: Definitely join the Polish Pickup Facebook Group. You don't necessarily need to actively participate in the group, but it will give you a look at the polishes that will be available in the coming month. PPU themes are chosen by the people, often a few months in advance (brands need time to find their inspiration and test their polish). Any indie brand that has been around for at least a year can participate and each has their own specific inspiration picture and polish for that month. All you need to do is go to the Polish Pickup site during the pre-order window (the first Friday-Monday of the month) to make all of your purchases of these exclusive polishes. There's no need to pay for multiple shipping charges; since this is a pre-order, all polishes get sent to Polish Pickup and they send you the polishes you ordered. Yup, it's that simple. *Shipping Price Update 2021* Orders weighing up to 7 oz will still ship to the US for $3 while all other US orders will ship for $5 (more for international and they just had to increase the pricing to Canada). Since all orders are pre-orders, shipping will take place about 3 weeks after the end of the pre-order.

PPU starts Friday, February 4th at 11:00 AM ET and ends on Monday, February 7th at 11:59 PM (but if a polish has a bottle limit and sells out before the end of the pre-order, it's gone, unless you get lucky and the cap gets raised...which is rare) on the PPU website. Shall we get to some pictures?

Noodles Nail Polish The Points Don't Matter (2 coats)
Inspiration: Whose Line is it Anyway?
Price: $12
Bottle Limit: None

Did you watch Whose Line is it Anyway? I grew up a couple hours from Cleveland, so all Drew Carey shows were popular where I grew up. Apparently there's a revival of the show and I had no idea! If you love improv, you would love this show. This month Natalie from Noodles Nail Polish gives us The Points Don't Matter which is a light grey crelly base with metallic red/purple/blue/fuchsia glitters, matte light purple glitters, and holo sky blue glitters, as well as a touch of holo flakes. This one was more opaque than I expected, and it fully covered in 2 easy coats. It's definitely glitter dense, so I would recommend a glitter grabber topcoat, or 2 coats of a thicker topcoat to get that smooth finish.

Soothing Soul Nail Lacquer Zoidberg (3 coats)
Inspiration: Zoidberg from Futurama
Price: $12
Bottle Limit: 100 bottles

I've definitely watched plenty of Futurama! Zoidberg is a Decapodian doctor with a sad story. Soothing Soul Nail Lacquer gives us Zoidberg which is a bubblegum pink color with a blue pearlescent finish. Some pearl finishes can show brushstrokes, but with this one, they are very minimal. I went ahead and used 3 thin coats, but you may be able to get away with 2 if you use thicker coats or have short nails. It dries with no texture at all, but a topcoat really makes the pearl pop. Zoidberg has a cap of just 100 bottles, so you may want to add this to your cart early in case it sells out.

There you have it folks! The website is ready for wishlisting, so head on over there to browse the beauties. If any item has a cap, you may want to check out right at 11 AM on Friday so they don't sell out.  What do you think? Which ones will you be picking up this month?

Noodles Nail Polish Spring 2021 Collection Swatches and Reviews

*press samples*

Hi everyone! It's my birthday!!! No, nothing exciting is going on...I had to work all day and have no other plans, but I do get to see my parents later in the week! It's been a whole 10 months since I've seen them, and it will be so nice to be around someone besides my husband and tiny group of co-workers (no offense to them). If you had asked me last year on my birthday whether or not we'd still be in this position over a year later, I would have said no way. Alas, maybe we're getting just a little closer to the finish line.

Tonight I've got the new 8-piece collection (7 new and 1 throwback release) from Noodles Nail Polish to share with you. It features 6 crellies in various shades and 2 glitter toppers. This set will be available this Friday, April 16th at 6 PM EST on the Noodles website. All polishes will retail for just $9.50 each. This is going to be a picture-heavy post, so we should get going.
