California Lovin' Oct. 2018 Indie Duo Collaboration: Static Lacquer and Fanchromatic Nails

*press samples*

Hi guys! I just got home from Dallas, and I was shocked to find that we brought fall with us. It was in the 70s which is relatively cool for this time of year. Tonight I've got the next installment of the California Lovin' Collaboration box where Stacy from Static Lacquer works with other indie brands in the great state of California. I've noticed how many brands come from California, so I think this is a wonderful way for brands to join forces. This month features Lynae from Fanchromatic Nails. The duo goes on pre-order tomorrow (Oct. 1st) at 8 AM PST through October 5th at 11:59 PM PST in the Static Lacquer website. This month's inspiration is the Winchester Mystery House located in San Jose, California. This crazy house built by Sarah Winchester has many oddities, such as stairs that lead straight up into the ceiling, doors that let out on the second floor to open air, and, of course, secret corridors. Here is the photo used for inspiration:

The duo will retail for $20 with $4 shipping and will include a large California Lovin' Indies vinyl sticker. Ok, enough chatting, let's see some swatches!

Fanchromatic Nails Secret Corridors (2 coats)

Up first is Secret Corridors from Fanchromatic Nails which is a turquoise crelly base with iridescent flakes, purple/green UCC flakes, and blue shimmer. It dries with the tiniest amount of streaks, so just don't overwork the second coat and float it on. It dried with a satin finish and applied perfectly in just 2 coats.

Static Lacquer Doors to Nowhere (3 coats)

Next we have fall in a bottle. Doors to Nowhere is the Static Lacquer's contribution and it's a reddish brown jelly base with silver holo flakes, and a mix of several different colors of UCC flakes. Stacy was inspired by the stained glass windows in the Winchester House photo above. Since it's a jelly, a third coat was needed, but it also added a nice depth to the abundance of flakes in there. I had no issue with flakes sticking up, and the polish had a perfect consistency. It dried with a tiny bit of texture that completely smoothed out with a coat of topcoat.

There you have it! This is the perfect fall duo, and if you live in California, you'll love it for the Winchester association (side note: apparently there was a movie released this year inspired by the house with Helen Mirren in it. I will definitely watch it if it gets released on Netflix or HBO). Both polishes are beautiful, but I'm a sucker for flakies, so I'm more drawn to Doors to Nowhere. For just $24 shipped, you get 2 interesting polishes with a professional vinyl sticker. Again, these go on pre-order tomorrow at 8 AM PST through 11:59 PM PST on Oct. 5th. You can find out more about Fanchromatic Nails on their Etsy site, Instagram, or Facebook Fan group while you can check out Static Lacquer on their websiteFacebookGroup, and Instagram pages.

Static Lacquer The Sanderson Sisters Trio Swatches and Reviews

*press samples*

Hi guys, I'm back with another Halloween trio from Static Lacquer. This trio is inspired by the wonderful 1993 movie Hocus Pocus featuring Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy, and Sarah Jessica Parker as witch sisters. I mean, you've all seen it, so I don't need to give any more of a synopsis. If you haven't seen it, you need to. This trio will be available on Friday, Sept. 28th at 8 AM PST in both the Static Lacquer and Polish Nook websites for $11 each or as a trio for $30 + shipping. Don't forget, if you get them from the Polish Nook, you can add the Munsters trio to your cart as well. This set features jelly finishes with UCC and holo flakes. Shall we go ahead and get a closer look?

Static Lacquer Munsters Trio (Polish Nook Exclusives) Swatches and Reviews

*press samples*

Hi guys! I've got a couple posts coming your way featuring Static Lacquer. As you may remember, Stacy from Mace Polish recently re-branded to become Static Lacquer. The trio I have tonight is exclusive to the Polish Nook and will be available Friday, Sept. 28th at 8 AM PST for $11 each. The inspiration is The Munsters and I've been known to enjoy some episodes of it. I remember staying up late at my grandma's house watching The Munsters on Nick at Nite in the early 90s...am I dating myself or what?! I haven't seen it in a few years, so I definitely to get back into it for this Halloween season. If you are a flakie lover, or a crelly lover, this collection is for you.

Polish Pickup (PPU) October 2018: Static Lacquer No Man Can Kill Me

*press sample*

Hi guys! The October Polish Pickup (PPU) is fast approaching, and I have several to share with you this month. The theme this time is Villians, which is somewhat similar to last month's offerings (Horror Movies). Tonight I have Static Lacquer's shade and boy is it pretty. The inspiration chosen was the Witch King of Angmar (aka Lord of Mogul), the leader of ring wraiths from J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings. If you want to learn more about the famous Witch King, I found this video to be very informative:

Static Lacquer's No Man Can Kill Me will be available in the PPU website from 11 AM EST 10/5-10/8 for $12.00 with a cap of 200 bottles.

Static Lacquer No Man Can Kill Me (3 coats)

No Man Can Kill Me is a black jelly base with green shimmer, silver holo flakes, and blue/green/gold UCC flakes. If you're not a fan of black polishes, don't worry, the flakes and shimmer are quite prominent so it doesn't really look black. I used 3 thin coats for full coverage, but you may be able to get away with using 2 thicker coats. The formula was slightly thick, but in a good way. It dried with no texture, and was easy to remove.

Stacy really works her magic with the use of the silver holo flakes. I'd say it's almost a signature look for her. If you're looking for a beautiful polish to wear this fall, definitely check out No Man Can Kill Me! Again, it will be available at 11 AM EST on Friday, Oct. 5th for $12 with a cap of 200 bottles. You can learn more about Static Lacquer on their websiteFacebookGroup, and Instagram pages, while you can find more about PPU on their Facebook page and website.

Noodles Nail Polish Halloween 2018 Trio Swatches and Reviews

*press samples*

Hi guys, I'm back, as promised. I have a fairly busy weekend planned with a fountain pen meeting tomorrow night and a birthday party on Saturday. Tonight I've got the Noodles Nail Polish Halloween trio to show you, and if you order, you'd definitely get them in plenty of time for the big day. Natalie is notorious for being a fast shipper, which is great when there's a holiday deadline. But heck, these polishes will be perfect any day, not just for Halloween. The trio will be available next Friday, Sept. 28th at 6 PM EST and will retail for $9.50 each (and will only be available individually). A big thanks also goes out to Jody from JodisPolish on Youtube for picking the names for the set. Without further ado, let's get to the pretties!

Zoya 2018 Bridal Bliss Collection Swatches and Review: Brighton

*press sample*

Zoya Brighton (3 coats)

Hi guys, I was planning on a different post for tonight, but time got away from me. I'll have the Noodles Nail Polish Halloween trio for your viewing pleasure either tomorrow or Friday. I also have 2 more Halloween trios from Static Lacquer to show you this weekend. In other words, it's gonna be creepy and spooky around here. Tonight I've got the one new polish released in the Bridal Bliss Collection released earlier this year from Zoya. I didn't end up showing the set to you guys because I already have swatches of most of the colors already up on the blog, so I didn't want to repeat them. No worries, the one I'm showing is still available and a permanent color.

Brighton is a light gold base with a scattered silver holo flake finish. It's more of a beige gold than a yellow gold. It works well with my yellow toned skin, but it may give those with pink undertones a bit of lobster hands. I think this would look amazing on deeper skintones, too. It had a nice formula, and I ended up using 3 coats for my photos. If you use thicker coats, or have short nails, you may be able to get away with just 2. It dried quickly and had no texture.

If you are looking for some nice neutrals, definitely check out the Bridal Bliss Collection, especially Brighton. I tend to like scattered holo flakes more than straight linear holos, but that's just personal preference. Zoya polishes retail for $10 and you can find out more about them on their websiteFacebookTwitter, or Instagram pages. Keep an eye out for them in your local Ulta store if you want to see the bottles in person before you buy.

Polish 'M Group Custom #7 Polish Swatches and Review

Polish 'M Group Custom #7 (3 coats)

Hi guys! We survived Hurricane Florence! We're still getting rain and flooding in low-lying areas around us, but we were mostly spared. I hope my east coast NC readers are safe and sound though. Tonight I'm back with a group custom color from Polish 'M. It actually doesn't say whether or not you have to be in the Polish 'M Facebook Fan Group to purchase, but you should join anyway. This one is still available in the store for $8.00 along with some #Crellycrate Bespoke Trios inspired by Tim Burton on pre-order.

Group Custom #7 doesn't have a special name, but it's a busy polish. It's a cool-toned pink crelly base with black and white shredded flakes, blue/pink/white glitters, and a strong blue shimmer flash. One thing I love about Michelle's polishes is the contrasting shimmers she adds. The blue really pops, and I wish it showed better in my photos. I used 3 thin coats for my photos, and it had a great formula. It dries with a lot of texture, so you'll need a thick layer or 2 of topcoat to smooth everything out.

What a lovely and interesting polish Michelle came up with! She has a lot of polishes in her shop right now, so definitely check them out. You can find Polish 'M on their storefrontFacebookInstagram, and Facebook Group pages.

Cameo Colours Lacquers Polish Pickup (PPU) Shades from Mystery Bag

Hi guys! I hope you had a great weekend. It's my husband's birthday today, so we went out to dinner and shopped yesterday since we both had to work today. Also, bad news, the hurricane Florence is headed straight for us, so I'm not sure how much I'll be posting this week. I don't live extremely close to the coast, but the storm is supposed to stop right above us and stick around for many days through the weekend so there's a good chance for flooding. Yeah, not fun. Wish us luck. Anyway, tonight I have 3 Polish Pickup (PPU) shades from Cameo Colours Lacquers to show you. Bad news, these were all exclusives to PPU, so they aren't available anymore, but good news, I got these through the Mystery Bag on her website. She does her best to accommodate color or finish requests, but there isn't a guarantee. I left a note in my order saying I was interested in her PPU shades, and she was able to get me 3 of them. Shall we  get to some swatches?

Thriller Duo with Zombie Claw Polish and Static Lacquer: Swatches and Reviews

*press samples*

Hi guys! I hope you had a good Labor Day weekend. I pretty much spent most of it resting up and trying to clean tar off of my car. I do so much highway driving and got lots of dots of tar on the front of my car. After lots of scrubbing and inhaling of solvents, my car is mostly clean now. Tonight I have a duo inspired by Thriller from Michael Jackson. Thriller is easily my favorite Michael Jackson song and video. Yes, all 14 minutes of it. The duo consists of polishes from Zombie Claw Polish and Static Lacquer and it will be available from Wednesday, 9/5 at 4 PM EST to Wednesday, 9/12 in the Zombie Claw Polish website. You can purchase them individually for $11, or save yourself a few bucks and purchase the duo for $18 ($21 shipped). Shall we go ahead and look at some swatches?
