Zoya Sparkle Summer 2010 Collection: Ivanka

Zoya Ivanka (2 coats)

I have two polishes from the Zoya Summer 2010 Sparkle Collection to show you guys. Up first is Ivanka which is a bright green jelly with lots of green glass fleck glitter throughout. It sort of looks like the color of money which is awesome. You can see a bit of visible nail line with two coats in the pictures, but it isn't noticeable in real life. You may be thinking to yourself, is this going to be a pain to remove? The good news is it isn't! Overall, it was not a big issue. Application was great as well and this is a beautiful polish.

Zoya Reverie Collection: Reece

Zoya Reece (2 coats)

Now that I've done some summer collections, I'm going to show a few Zoya polishes. They often have some discount codes, and don't forget, they have their Exchange Program going on now. Up first is Reece which comes from their Reverie Collection that came out this...spring? I think it was spring. Anyway, it is a rose/mauve duochrome that reflects gold and a bit of green. Hopefully the last 2 photos capture the duochrome effect. When I saw some pictures from this collection, 1 or 2 of them didn't really have a strong duochrome finish, so when I saw this one, I knew I needed to have it. If there is anything you need to know, I love pinks and I love duochromes. I know, most of you are probably used to bloggers hating on pinks or other "boring colors" but I guess I'm weird. Application was great and only needed 2 coats to be opaque!

Diamond Cosmetics Summer 2010: South Beach Pink

Diamond Cosmetics South Beach Pink (2 coats)

And we are already on the final polish to the Summer 2010 collection :-( I received many compliments on this polish when I wore it. I mean, really, approximately 4-5 compliments, some even from strangers. While this isn't the most unique color, I think it goes really well with my complexion and I like that it is bright, but not exactly a neon polish. I think it would make a really nice mani or pedi this summer. While the collection is bright, they are definitely not neons which is a nice change from all of the ones out right now. All the polishes from this collection are 2 coaters which is awesome, especially for the price ($2.25 each). Also, I really like how Diamond Cosmetics always have specials running. Head on to their website to see what these are!

Diamond Cosmetics Summer 2010: Pelican Peak Purple

Diamond Cosmetics Pelican Peak Purple (2 coats)

Happy Friday Everyone! Hopefully your week went quickly and that the US readers can enjoy the holiday weekend (Memorial Day). Today I have the Diamond Cosmetics polish #2. Does anyone know where Pelican Peak beach can be found? I tried to do some googling but couldn't find any definitive answer. Anyway, look how beautiful this polish is! Pelican Peak Purple is a light lilac purple creme that was really pigmented. I have been really impressed at how I usually only need 2 coats for their polishes. At first I thought the color looked a little pastel, but after it was on I think it is a little dark to be a pastel.

Diamond Cosmetics Summer 2010: Magens Bay Blue

Diamond Cosmetics Magens Bay Blue (2 coats)

Diamond Cosmetics was kind enough to send me their 3 polish collection for Summer 2010. I love how these are based on famous beaches and I would love to see even more of these released. Up first is Magens Bay Blue which totally brings out lobster hands for me. It is a teal creme with some green in it. I absolutely love this color, but when I first saw it, I thought I may have a dupe of it somewhere. I looked through my collection and I have no exact dupes of this one. And for $2.25, this one is definitely a keeper! It was extremely pigmented and needed only 2 polish for full coverage.

And from the name of this one, I just wanted to mention that I have actually been to Magens Bay which can be found in St. John's of the US Virgin islands. I would have to say of all the beaches and islands I've been to, this one is definitely in my top three easily. The views that can be seen are just breathtaking. This is a personal photo that I took from Magans Bay and I hope you enjoy it (please click the picture to make it full size...doesn't it look like a wallpaper?!)

Jessica Cosmetics Electric Collection: Hi Res Raspberry

Jessica Cosmetics Hi Res Raspberry (2 coats)

This is officially the last polish from the collection! We've been on Jessica Cosmetics polishes for a long time and I hope you've enjoyed these summer collections. The name for Hi Res Raspberry is very appropriate since it is a bright pink raspberry polish. While it's a nice polish, I don't really think it is too unique and I may have similar ones in my collection. You can never go wrong with a bright pink for the toes or fingers in warm weather (or really any time!).

I have another small summer collection from Diamond Cosmetics to show you next. After that I will go back to posting some random polishes which I am often known for.

Jessica Cosmetics Electric Collection: 3D Tangerine

Jessica Cosmetics 3D Tangerine (2 coats)

Almost done with this collection! I know, there are so many new polishes! 3D Tangerine isn't quite a neon, but a bright medium orange creme. Whereas Orange Zest is vibrant, this one is more of a Dreamsicle. I love it! It dried slightly darker on the nail, and had a great formula.

So just another tidbit about myself: I LOVE naps. I try to take one every day and my husband thinks I'm crazy. Any other nap lovers out there?

Jessica Cosmetics Electric Collection: Indigo Glow

Jessica Cosmetics Indigo Glow (2 coats)

You guys know I love shimmers, and the only one of this collection is Indigo Glow. Am I the only one with a love for shimmers? Anyway, this one has a slight frost feeling to it, but it had no problem with any streakiness with only 2 coats. Despite being a blue shimmer, it has lots of green to it. It reminds me a little of China Glaze Sexy in the City but much greener.

Jessica Cosmetics Electric Collection: Shock Me Red

Jessica Cosmetics Shock Me Red (2 coats)

So we are halfway through the Electric Collection and I hope you're enjoying it! So you guys probably notice that I don't really choose many reds (I often go for pinks over red if I'm doing "normal" colors) but Shock Me Red is a cool tomato red creme that is really bright. I think there may be a bit of orange in the polish as well. Off the top of my head it reminds me a little bit of Zoya America, but I'll definitely need to do a comparison to see. I know you're probably sick of hearing it, but I had no problems with application or formula.

So I had Moo Shu Vegetable for dinner and it was delicious! I love having it for leftovers. What did you have?

Jessica Cosmetics Electric Collection: Viva La Lime Light

Jessica Cosmetics Viva La Lime Light (2 coats)

I absolutely love this polish. Love. I don't have anything in my collection that is quite this light lime green color that has lots of yellow undertones. Perhaps it is a bit chartreuse green. Application and formula was great like the rest of the 2 collections.

Before I forget, I helped my brother and sister-in-law move today and I was wearing Zoya Calypso (I'll be showing that one later next week) and I had no breakage or chips at all! Well done Zoya! I also want to mention that the broken bottle I received was handled really well and I received my new bottle in a few days.

Jessica Cosmetics Electric Collection: Power Driven Pink

Jessica Cosmetics Power Driven Pink (2 coats)

So here is the second collection that Jessica Cosmetics released for the summer. Up first is the polish I ended up using for my video (since I realized that I never told anyone!) which is Power Driven Pink. You could still see the pink through my latex gloves in the lab, but I don't think it was too distracting. It is a baby or Barbie pink creme that really had great pigmentation with a no-streak finish which is great for a pastel color. You can find Jessica Cosmetics polishes on their website and they are $7.50 each.

Jessica Cosmetics Ignite Collection: Orange Zest

Jessica Cosmetics Orange Zest (2 coats)

Today is the last of the Ignite Collection. If these don't scream SUMMER then I don't know what does. Orange Zest is a neon orange creme that almost blinds me! Please ignore that spot on my middle finger, somehow I got a little dry spot (I know, in the summer!).  Apparently lotion several times a day and cuticle oil just isn't enough for me.

The next collection to show you is the Jessica Cosmetics Electric Summer 2010. There are several colors I am absolutely crazy about in this so please stay tuned!

Jessica Cosmetics Ignite Collection: Pink Explosion

Jessica Cosmetics Pink Explosion (2 coats)

So my husband hates my router, so he decided to put his up.  Of course he had all the troubles with setting up his (why do they have to be so difficult?!) so that's why I'm putting this up a little late. I love neon pinks! LOVE! When I first put this one on, the first thing I thought of was Color Club's Poptastic color, which is a compliment to both polishes. Pink Explosion is the second to last installment of the Ignite Collection from Jessica Cosmetics. As far as I know, these aren't for sale yet, but I think they will be very soon. Application was just flawless and I was so impressed with these in terms of formula and wear. If you don't have any Jessica Cosmetics polishes, definitely check them out because they have some great ones!

Jessica Cosmetics Ignite Collection: Blue Blast

Jessica Cosmetics Blue Blast (2 coats)

So please ignore the bubbles that formed on my nails, this is only from my thick topcoat that I slathered on quickly. The finish of the polish itself was slightly matte since it is so bright, but it had no bubbles. So Blue Blast was definitely different on the nail than I thought it'd be based on the bottle. This is a blue creme that dries much darker on the nail. I wasn't 100% sold from the bottle color, but I really love this one! I think it is really different than the other colors from the 2 collections.

Today is a new tidbit about myself: I am addicted to caffeine. I totally admit it. Since I've been sick I haven't had any caffeine for about 3 days now and I am really proud of myself!

Jessica Cosmetics Ignite Collection: Purple Burst

Jessica Cosmetics Purple Burst (3 coats)

And I'm back again. Still not 100%, but good enough to blog for everyone tonight. I really hate when my pictures get rotated in blogspot. You see, when I crop and resize my photos they don't look like this. Only when I upload them do they turn like this and it makes me so angry! Anyway, today we are going to continue on with the Jessica Cosmetics Ignite Collection with Purple Burst. I know there are tons of purple lovers out there, and this one is a bright (not really neon) violet purple creme with some pick undertones. It's probably not the most unique purple, but it is totally cool nonetheless. This one needed 3 coats to be opaque, but the application and formula was great.

Very Ill

Hi Everyone, I am really not doing well tonight so I can't blog. I am so sorry! I know how disappointing it can be.

I just want  to show everyone my parent's dachshund, Tot. One night while he was being really good we painted one paw with a matte red polish (again, I don't remember off the top of my head because I feel like crap). I hope you enjoy it!

Jessica Cosmetics Ignite Collection: Electric Teal

Jessica Cosmetics Electric Teal (2 coats)

Electric Teal is the only shimmer of the collection (boo, I love shimmers!), but it is awesome. Just look at the blue green shimmer in this one! Overall it looks more green than blue, but you can really see the blue in the shimmer. Application was perfect and only needed 2 coats to be opaque.

Sorry these have been a little short lately, my family and husband are in town this weekend. For those of you who don't know, I grew up in northwest Ohio and am living in Tennessee for school. My family is visiting from back home.

Jessica Cosmetics Ignite Collection: Yellow Flame

Jessica Cosmetics Yellow Flame (2 coats)

Jessica Cosmetics was kind enough to send me the polishes to their 2 new summer collections and boy are they awesome! I am starting with the Ignite Collection and will finish up with their Electric Collection. YES, I have finally found a yellow polish with good application and pigment! Yellow Flame is a highlighter yellow neon creme with green undertones that only needed 2 coats! It was only a tiny bit thick, but was so great compared to other yellow polishes. What a great start to the collection!

The winner of the May Giveaway is Gina D. Congratulations and thanks to everyone for entering! I hope to have some more coming up soon.

Nfu Oh Rong Xin A056

Nfu Oh Rong Xin A056 (3 coats)

Yay for polishes from Australia! Well, this Nfu Oh came from Korea, and is official with Korean writing and everything! The only downside is that the polish doesn't have the beautiful corset bottle we get here. Rong Xin A056 is a super blingin gold glitter with larger pieces of rainbow glitter you can see in the bottom picture. It was a little sheer and needed 3 coats, but it was well worth it!

I received some Zoya polishes in the mail today and Lexi was completely smashed :( I picked up the package and I could smell the polish so I knew it was a bad sign. This is the first casualty I have ever experienced which is really impressive. I have so many polishes I need to swatch. Eek!

LOS ANGELES -- American Apparel (Amex: APP), the vertically integrated clothing manufacturer based in downtown Los Angeles, is announcing the addition of six new colors to its successful line of nail polish. The company timed and designed the expansion of American Apparel Nail Lacquer for the upcoming summer season.

The colors continue the theme of representing the brand and the culture which surrounds it. A khaki shade called "California Trooper" alludes to the uniforms of the ubiquitous California Highway Patrol, while "Malibu Green" is inspired by the colors found near the company's store on the historic Pacific Coast Highway. Other colors like "Summer Peach" and "Butter" are now also an available option for some of the company's classic garments, including the Pique Tennis Shirt, 4-Way Stretch Side Zipper Pants and Dov's Hoody. The line will feature the release of a base/top coat, a much-requested addition that will bring an extra layer of protection and gloss to the nail lacquer.

Nfu Oh 51 (not layered)

Nfu Oh 51 (3 coats)

Happy Wednesday! Just to let everyone know, the website is now http://www.rightonthenail.com! If you still like the blogspot address, no worries, it should redirect you! I hope this will be easier for people to find me.

As I promised, here is Nfu Oh 51 not layered. This is showing three coats, and you can still see a little nail line, but you can see it more in the picture than in real life. I love how this polish looks so many colors depending on the angle. Is it blue or purple based? Both! The flakies reflect mostly green, gold and pink and it is just stunning. I couldn't be happier with this one! Gah, I have a headache so time to deal with that.

Sephora by OPI: Three Way Mirror

Sephora by OPI Three Way Mirror (2 coats)

Three Way Mirror is part of the Sephora by OPI core collection can, of course, be found in stores or online at Sephora. It is a medium rosy pink creme that is really pigmented and only needed 2 coats to be opaque. While I think it looks nice on me, I think it may look better on darker skin tones. I really do like OPI polishes, but I think they are overpriced at $9. I ended up buying this one on sale for $5 and I was happy with that.....but $9? That's even more than the regular OPI line costs! So why do they cost more? For a different shape bottle and a skinny brush? I just don't get it. Anyway, I think Three Way Mirror is a nice dusty rose that would be work/wedding (since summer is on its way!) appropriate.

Essie Fall 2009: Angora Cardi

Essie Angora Cardi (2 coats)

I only bought 1 polish from the Essie Fall 2009 collection (or perhaps I have another one...either way) and it's called Angora Cardi. It dried a little darker on my nail than the bottle color which was fine by me. The color of this creme was really interesting. It is a sort of deep dusty rose with hints of red and purple. I always love a polish that isn't easy to describe! The application was pretty good and only needed 2 coats. Overall, good job Essie!

By the way, the video went fine today. I wore a light pink creme that matched pretty nicely with my outfit ( and I never match my nails to my clothes). Right now I am soooo sleepy so hopefully I'll be back to my long-winded self soon. Don't forget the May Giveaway that is going on until Friday so check the sidebar!
