Right on the Nail ~ OPI Coca Cola Collection Swatch & Review: Today I Accomplished Zero

OPI I Accomplished Zero (2 coats)

I ended up finding another OPI Coca Cola polish I had to have and that is Today I Accomplished Zero which is for Coke Zero. It's a black jelly with large and small pink hexagonal glitter. I love how the glitter really stands out in the black instead of sinking in. I thought it was going to need 3 coats, but with 2 heavy handed coats, it was opaque with no formula issues. I know this is late, but I think you can still find it at different places.

November Rainbow Honey Mystery Bag Swatch & Review: Grayscale

Rainbow Honey Grayscale (2 coats)

Happy Belated Thanksgiving! I took a few days off and even left my nails alone. Before I chopped my nails, I got the polishes from the November Rainbow Honey mini Mystery Bag. I was immediately drawn to Grayscale which is a charcoal grey with flakes they claim to be white and silver. For some reason I think it looks like it has gold flakes. Is it just me? Rainbow Honey polishes are interesting to apply. The first coat is fine, but the formula quickly gets thick. Anyone else? If I have to do 3 coats, I always want to add thinner, but to really assess the formula, I don't.

I hope you have the day off and a fun weekend!

Right on the Nail ~ Dermelect Peptide-Infused Nail Lacquer Swatch and Review: Phenom

Dermelect Phenom (2 coats)

Always check the clearance section of Ulta for goodies like this. I ended up getting this $14 polish for only $0.99! I posted about Dermelect a long time ago and talked about how the peptides are supposed to be good for your nails...unfortunately I never have my polish on long enough to reap any benefits. Anyway, Phenom is a cobalt blue creme. It applied extremely well due to the smaller brush for easy maneuvering. I like it, but there are much cheaper options than the full priced $14 version.

Right on the Nail ~ Morgan Taylor Holiday 2014 Home For the Holidays Collection Swatches & Reviews Part II

*press samples*

Morgan Taylor Deck the Halls (2 coats)

Deck the Halls is a red base with red and pink glitter. There's also large hexagonal pink glitter in there that makes things interesting. Now this is the kind of red I can get behind! Despite being a glitter, Morgan Taylor does it again and makes a glitter that is a two-coater.

Morgan Taylor Just for the Occasion (2 coats)

Just for the Occasion is a mix of purple and magenta glitters. The purple is definitely more prominent from farther away, but in the macro shots, the magenta really stands out. Again, this had perfect application in 2 coats.

Morgan Taylor New Year, Blue Year (2 coats)

And finally, New Year, Blue Year is a midnight blue shimmer. I like that this is a dark blue and very time appropriate. This one was basically a one coater, but I always do 2 just because.

What did you think of this collection? I think it was wonderful! I'm happy to report that you can now buy Morgan Taylor polishes online without a license from Loxa Beauty for $8.50 each (the Home for the Holidays Collection is available now). You can keep up with Morgan Taylor on their Facebook and Twitter pages as well.

Right on the Nail ~ Morgan Taylor Holiday 2014 Home For the Holidays Collection Swatches & Reviews Part I

*press samples*

Morgan Taylor Midnight Rendezvous (2 coats)

OoOo....a dark polish for a holiday collection! I like! It's a black base with multi-colored small glitter. This is one of my favorites of the whole collection. It is a bit of a pain to take off though.

Morgan Taylor Snuggle by the Fire (2 coats)

Yup, we got the red creme that has to be in every holiday collection. Every.single.one. I understand it, but that doesn't mean I don't already have about 20 of these. This one is very smooth and opaque, so it does have that going for it.

1 coat Morgan Taylor Snow Place Like Home over 2 coats Snuggle by the Fire

Snow Place Like Home is a bit of a change for Morgan Taylor. Usually their shimmers/glitters are extremely opaque, but this one is a sheer topcoat with iridescent glitter and shimmer in a very lightly pigmented white base. I should have put this over a black because you would have been able to see the glitter better. This one had tons of shimmer and only needed 1 coat.

Ah, yes, more holiday collections are rolling out. I'm also happy to report that my local nail supply store now carries the core line of Morgan Taylor polishes! I hope to get some more of those since I basically just get the limited edition collections. Definitely look for more in the future.
The Home For the Holidays collection seems to be geared more toward shimmers and glitters which is right up my alley. There is only one lone creme, Snuggle by the Fire, shown above. Every polish applied quite well, as usual. Some of the glitters were difficult to take off, but there's no surprise.

I think you'll be happy with the next 3 polishes as well. I'm happy to report that you can now buy Morgan Taylor polishes online without a license from Loxa Beauty for $8.50 each. You can keep up with Morgan Taylor on their Facebook and Twitter pages as well.

Right on the Nail ~ China Glaze Fall 2014 All Aboard Collection Swatch and Review: Choo-Choo Choose You

China Glaze Choo-Choo Choose You (3 coats)

Happy Saturday! I've spent most of the day doing absolutely nothing which is wonderful! I finally found my last swatch from the All Aboard Collection (sorry it took so long...it didn't transfer from my camera) called Choo-Choo Choose you. I love the Simpsons reference. Oh, Ralph! Anyway, this is one unique color. Some people claim that the base is a navy blue, but with all the shimmer, it ends up looking purple to me. It is a multichrome with tons of green, gold and pink flashes. It is a bit sheer for needing 3 coats, but the formula was nothing troublesome. Love it!

I miss my long nails :(

Right on the Nail ~ Crabtree & Evelyn Nail Lacquer Swatch and Review: Black Tulip

Crabtree & Evelyn Black Tulip (3 coats)

So let's get this out there: my nails are going to be nubbins for awhile. Five years of blogging has taken a toll on my nails and I need to let them grow out to strengthen them. Hopefully my nails don't look too ugly.

In case you didn't know, Crabtree & Evelyn have their own line of nail lacquers. I picked this up last year, and I'm happy to see they released it again this season. Black Tulip is a deep purple shimmer duochrome that turns gold and green at different angles. It's so beautiful! If I had anything bad to say about it is the sheer application (but no problem with the formula). Right now they run buy 2 get 1 free with polishes costing $6. Not too shabby at all! Will you be purchasing any? I really like their hand lotions so you might as well pick that up while you're there.

Right on the Nail ~ NYC City Samba Summer 2014 Collection Swatches and Review: Carnival Red and Sweet Melon

NYC Carnival Red (2 coats)

NYC Sweet Melon (3 coats)

*press samples*

I know, these are so old. I'm sorry.

Carnival Red is a bright cherry red creme that applied like a dream. There's really not much else to say about it really.

Sweet Melon is a yellow-toned orange with slight shimmer. The shimmer is pretty hidden (boo), but the color is fun. The application was a bit of a pain, unfortunately. It was thick and streaky and weirdly enough still needed 3 coats (which ended up causing bubbling...again, boo).

You may still be able to find these at Rite Aid and they were there the last time I went polish hunting.

Right on the Nail ~ China Glaze Fall 2014 All Aboard Collection Swatch and Review: Mind the Gap

China Glaze Mind the Gap (3 coats)

Ugh, I mean, YAY it's MONDAY! I spent the entire day in front of a scale weighing soil. Ah, the life of a scientist. And I didn't even finish them all. I hope your day was more exciting than mine.

I have a couple polishes from the China Glaze All Aboard Collection, but now I feel like I should have bought more after seeing more swatches. We'll see. Anyway, Mind the Gap is going to be a polarizing polish: either you're going to love it or hate it. I'm on the love side, but I can see if you're on the hate side. It's an interesting mix of beige and green with gold and green shimmer. Pretty unique. What are your thoughts? The formula was ok and needed 3 coats to be fully opaque, You can find China Glaze polishes at your local Ulta or Sally Beauty Supply store or online e-tailers.

Right on the Nail ~ SpaRitual Spring 2014 Explore Collection Swatch and Review: Wilderness

SpaRitual Wilderness (2 coats)

I hope you had a great weekend! I just went and saw Dumb and Dumber To and it was really funny. I still love the first better, but isn't that how it always goes? Anyway, I had no idea when I found SpaRitual's Wilderness in the clearance section of Ulta that it was a textured polish, but you can still see some of the texture with the topcoat. Either way, it's beautiful! It is a pink coral with lots of gold shimmer. Doesn't coral invoke different ideas of a certain color? Some think it's more of a pink, some more of an orange, etc. Food for thought. The application and formula was superb with only 2 coats. I've always liked SpaRitual colors, but the price always holds me back ($12). You can find their polishes at your local Ulta store.

Right on the Nail ~ Cirque Objet d'Art Collection Swatch and Review: XX

Cirque XX (2 coats) over 2 coats Zoya Willa

I had never actually tried Cirque nail lacquers before so I was so happy to find XX in my last ipsy bag. When I first saw that it was a glitter topcoat, I admit I was a bit blah about it, but after I layered it over black I was smitten. XX claims to have over 20 different holographic glitters, and it just shines. I got many compliments on this because you cannot help but look at it. I have a mini bottle, but you can still get a full sized one for $13 on their website. Pricey? Definitely! This is the reason I haven't tried them out before, but perhaps I'll get another bottle soon.

Right on the Nail ~ Zoya 2014 Holiday/Winter Wishes Collection Swatches and Reviews Part II: The Creme and Shimmers

*press samples*

Zoya Prim (2 coats)

Oh, Prim. I sort of like you, but you are right on the verge of being too frosty. Like really close. It's a light blue metallic shimmer that can be a bit brushstrokey if you aren't careful. This is definitely not a color for everyone, myself included.

Zoya Willa (2 coats-can be 1 coater)

Really, there isn't much to say about Willa. If you want an opaque black creme that applies extremely well, this fits the bill. If you don't want to pay $9, I completely understand and can recommend several other cheaper alternatives (unless they are having a sale...then it would probably be worth it).

Zoya Haven (2 coats)

Do you watch the show Haven on SyFi? If not, I recommend it as it's based on the Stephen King book called The Colorado Kid. I digress. Haven is a purple plum shimmer that is very winter appropriate. It may not be the most unique color, but it's definitely pretty. It was extremely opaque and you could likely get away with only 1 coat.

You can purchase these now for $9, while the Magical PixieDusts will set you back $10. Stay up-to-date with all things Zoya (often including giveaways and sales!) on Twitter or Facebook.
