Zoya Fall 2018 Element Collection Swatches and Reviews: Part II

*press samples*

Hi guys! Happy Hump Day! It's been a pretty uneventful week so far, but I'm sure those will be few and far between as the holidays are right around the corner. As promised, I've got the final 6 polishes from the Zoya Element Collection. It's full of pinks and purples, and that's evident from the second set of colors. I'm working on the Winter Collection swatches right now, so those should be posted in a week or so. This post is pic heavy, so shall we get to it?

Morgan Taylor Fall 2017 Matadora Collection Swatches and Reviews Part II

*press samples*

Hi guys! So...I've been gone a week. In that week I celebrated my 10 year anniversary, and was sick. I was mostly just sick. My dad caught something while visiting and he was so kind to give it to me. I usually do my nails every night, but I skipped it most days last week (which also put me behind on some upcoming collections). Remember when I started the Morgan Taylor Matadora Collection many days ago? Shall we see how the second half fares?

Right on the Nail ~ CND Vinylux Aurora 2015 Holiday Collection Swatches and Reviews

*press samples*

So it's Monday again. On the bright side, many in the US have a short work week with it being Thanksgiving. I remember when I was in high school and worked at the local video store and had to work on every holiday including Thanksgiving and Christmas. I must say it is nice to work at a university and to get the main holidays off. Tonight I have the four-piece CND Vinylux holiday collection to show you. I hear that those up north are getting upwards of 10 inches of snow so I guess winter is here in some parts of the US. Follow me after the break to view some more swatches from the collection and to see my thoughts on the polishes.

Right on the Nail ~ Zoya 2014 Holiday/Winter Wishes Collection Swatches and Reviews Part II: The Creme and Shimmers

*press samples*

Zoya Prim (2 coats)

Oh, Prim. I sort of like you, but you are right on the verge of being too frosty. Like really close. It's a light blue metallic shimmer that can be a bit brushstrokey if you aren't careful. This is definitely not a color for everyone, myself included.

Zoya Willa (2 coats-can be 1 coater)

Really, there isn't much to say about Willa. If you want an opaque black creme that applies extremely well, this fits the bill. If you don't want to pay $9, I completely understand and can recommend several other cheaper alternatives (unless they are having a sale...then it would probably be worth it).

Zoya Haven (2 coats)

Do you watch the show Haven on SyFi? If not, I recommend it as it's based on the Stephen King book called The Colorado Kid. I digress. Haven is a purple plum shimmer that is very winter appropriate. It may not be the most unique color, but it's definitely pretty. It was extremely opaque and you could likely get away with only 1 coat.

You can purchase these now for $9, while the Magical PixieDusts will set you back $10. Stay up-to-date with all things Zoya (often including giveaways and sales!) on Twitter or Facebook.

NYC Summer 2014 Limited Edition City Samba Collection Swatch and Review: Amazon Green

NYC Amazon Green (2 coats)
*press sample*

It's Hump Day! And with that, I have a butt ugly polish to show you from the City Samba collection called Amazon Green. I sure hope this isn't what the Amazon looks like because it is not attractive. When I first saw the bottle, I was really excited because I thought it was going to be an interesting mint green for summer. Nope, this is the frostiest polish I have worn (for the 15 minutes that I had it on) in a long time. I did my best dealing with the streaks and it was opaque in 2 coats. Please don't accidentally buy this.

Revlon Parfumerie Scented Nail Polish Collection Swatch: Wintermint

Revlon Wintermint (2 coats)

Oh man, it's Monday again. And I know most of the country is freezing right now, so that makes it a thousand times worse. I hope you are all keeping warm and safe.

I haven't shown many Revlon polishes lately (that will change in the future), and I know every single blogger has already reviewed this, but here are my swatches. The Parfumerie collection contains 16 brand new colors that are scented. Of course, Wintermint smells like mint (a sweet mint), but I didn't find it to be strong at all. The scent only lasts about a day and then it starts to fade. As I'm sure you know, this is a dupe for Deborah Lippmann's Mermaid's Dream (which I don't own), with a much better price tag. It is a frosty seafoam green color with gold microglitter and larger blue hexagonal glitter. The glitter was easy to get out, and the formula was ok; slightly thin, but that's usually a good thing with glitters. It dries a bit matte and dull, so I used a topcoat to smooth things out. I like this one, despite the somewhat frosty finish.

OPI Fall 2013 San Francisco Collection Swatch: Dining Al Frisco

OPI Dining Al Frisco (2 coats)

Brrr, it's been so cold! Winter is coming too quick this year. I know friends and family in Ohio have already had snow which I find crazy. We're supposed to get snow here in North Carolina, too! How has it been in your neck of the woods?

So far, I have only gotten 1 OPI San Francisco collection polish and that's Dining Al Frisco. Some might find this a bit frosty, but I still think it's a beautiful cornflower blue shimmer. You know I am such a sucker for any cornflower blue color. The application was exceptional and only needed 2 coats. Overall, I don't have anything bad to say about this one.

Sephora by OPI Safari Luxe Collection Swatch: I Don't Bite

Sephora by OPI I Don't Bite (3 coats)

It's Friday already! A little town over is having an October Festival tomorrow which means food trucks and craft tables. Save me!

I Don't Bite comes from the Sephora by OPI Safari Luxe collection and is a bluish purple frosty shimmer. I found this one to be much more beautiful in the bottle than on the nail. The shimmer is multi-colored which is really pretty, but the bit of frost and sheerness make it a loser in my book. Sorry, I Don't Bite.

Finger Paints Fall 2012 Fall of Surprises Collection: Fall-ing For You

Finger Paints Fall-ing For You (2 coats)

Having a house really eats up your weekend time! We spent most of yesterday doing yard work and putting in new shrubs and flowers which is really exciting (and exhausting). I hope your week went well. I ended up getting 6 polishes for the Zoya exchange (Hazel, Rikki, Piaf, Kimber, Rory, and Marina). Did you get any?

I know, I know, this polish is from a Fall 2012 collection, but I got it on clearance so I had to pick it up. Fall-ing for you is a teal metallic polish with a bit of a frost finish. Don't worry, I don't find this to be crazy frosty or anything, but be wary of brushstrokes. The formula was pretty much perfect since it was a little thick and extremely pigmented. I didn't think I'd like this one as much as I do. If you can find this in the clearance section of your Sally's, I'd recommend it.

Julep Neons & Nudes Resort Collection: Amelia

Julep Amelia (2 coats)

Wow, my nails look so ugly here. I swear it didn't look this sheer in real life, but boy, does it look terrible in these pictures. Amelia is a champagne frost that is really frosty. I would have redone the manicure with another coat of polish, but I just hated it and didn't want to put it back on. Sorry! Overall, we have:

1. Frosty color-check
2. Bubbling-check
3. Sheer-check
4.Streaking-check

On the bright side, it did remind me of a seashell.

Jessica Cosmetics Spring 2013 It's a Girl Thing Collection: Nadia

Jessica Cosmetics Nadia (2 coats)

Why must Jessica Cosmetics include a frost with every collection? I guess there must be a market out there for it, but it's not for me. It's also disappointing because I know a Nadia and she is a doll, and I want to like this polish for that fact. But I can't because it is just too frosty. The formula also has much to be desired since it was quite thick. Oh well, we can't always like every polish in a collection.

Overall, this collection is a win (besides Nadia). I really wish Jessica Cosmetics polishes were easier to get a hold of, but your best bet is to buy them straight from their website.

Julep Nail Polish in Morgan

Julep Morgan (2 coats)

Howdy! I had a pretty uneventful Friday night, but we did have our favorite pizza place for dinner. I also happened to have cold pizza for breakfast this morning. Oops! Some people aren't a cold pizza type, but what do you say?

Yup, here's another Julep polish I've had for 6 months. I believe this came from the June 2012 Maven box, and it's a grape purple frost. The frost isn't terrible or streaky which is a bonus. The formula was just ok due to it being a little thick. I know Morgan is a unisex name, but I always think of Agent Morgan (ok, that's his last name, but you get the point) on Criminal Minds which is one of my favorite shows (my favorite characters being Hotch and Dr. Spencer Reid).

Sinful Colors Hot Flash Metallics Collection: Moss Have

Sinful Colors: Moss Have (2 coats)

Eww. Yup, I said it. I don't think Moss Have from Sinful Colors looks good on me, and boy is it full of frost. I tried to be as careful as possible with the brush strokes, but it still looks a mess. I knew it reminded me another polish, and I just thought of it: China Glaze Cherish from the Romantique collection. If you're really into mint green frosty polishes, this one is for you.

Jessica Cosmetics Awakening Spring 2012 Collection: Wing It

Jessica Cosmetics Wing It (2 coats)

Why hello there Wing It! Aren't you the odd polish out for the collection? Here we have 5 extremely neutral/muted shades, and then we end up with you. That's ok, I love it! Wing It is an orange/coral shimmer that leans toward a frost. It's not too frosty because I didn't really have any brushstroke problems, but it still has that frosty feeling. The formula was a little thick, but nothing too annoying. What do you think of Wing It?

China Glaze Spring 2012 Electropop Collection: Sunshine Pop

China Glaze Sunshine Pop (3 coats)

Wow, we have a bright one today, everyone! I finally have a few swatches of the China Glaze Electropop Collection to show you starting off with Sunshine Pop. It's a taxi-cab yellow color with sort of a shimmer/frosty finish. It's really a weird polish and I'm honestly not sure how I feel about it. I usually go for more of a highlighter yellow color for my nails. Being a yellow, it had some application issues. It was thick and hard to work with, and the frostiness to it added some fine streaks in there. And boy, did it take a long time to dry! Overall, unless you really love yellows, you may want to hold off on this one.

Jessica Cosmetics Spring 2012 Heavy Petal Collection: Born 2 Pansy and Geranium Gypsy

Jessica Cosmetics Born 2 Pansy (3 coats)

I decided to give you 2 polishes instead of 1 tonight, I hope that's ok with you! Born 2 Pansy is just like Rolling Rose, but in a light lavender form. I think the purple looks a bit better on my skintone (it shows up better), and it has the same blue shimmer finish that I love. I think I would recommend this one the most from the collection. Unfortunately the application was the same as well; it needed 3 coats and was a bit thick. It's still a lovely polish.

Jessica Cosmetics Geranium Gypsy (2 coats)

Holy frost, Batman! This was is also a purple version of Hotter Than Hibiscus which I showed a few days ago. I know lots of you aren't into frosts, but there has to be some people out there who still rock them. If that's you, then you'll probably love Geranium Gypsy. As such, it's a really nice purple color, it's just the frost is a bit too strong. I had the same problems with application since it's a streaky mess. I did my best to limit the streaks, but as you can see, I wasn't that successful. I don't have anything like this in my collection, so I guess you can say this is unique to me.

Don't forget to sign up for the new giveaway! You still have plenty of time to do so.
