Right on the Nail ~ CND Vinylux Spring 2015 Flora and Fauna Collection Swatches and Review: Field Fox

CND Field Fox (2 coats)

TGIF! I hope your week went well. In nail news, I received the new Sally Hansen Miracle Gel topcoat (2X Volume)  in the mail this week so we shall see how it holds up to the original. Also, a preview of the OPI Fall collection (Venice) has landed. Anything you have to have? I'm gonna wait on swatches to make a final decision.

Tonight I have the final Vinylux Flora and Fauna collection polish called Field Fox (I love the name). It's one of those neutral colors that has a mushroom/cafe latte vibe with a creme finish. Oh-la-la! I like to use colors like these as a palette cleanser when I've been wearing lots of a particular color scheme (e.g. lots of vampy, pastel, or neon colors). That being said, I feel like I have similar colors in my collection. If you're in the need for another color like this, or you want one that may last longer with the Vinylux system, I would definitely recommend Field Fox. What I find sets the CND polishes apart from other brands is the incredible formula. Each and every one has been a breeze to apply.

Your best bet to find the CND Vinylux polishes is at your local nail supply or online at Transdesign for $5.45 each. You can find more about CND on their FacebookTwitter and Instagram pages.

Right on the Nail ~ CND Vinylux Spring 2015 Flora and Fauna Collection Swatches and Review: Wild Moss

CND Wild Moss (2 coats)

Hump Day! We didn't chat about the Bachelorette yesterday! Hmm, is it still too early for spoilers? Just in case, I won't have spoilers...yet. Anyway, don't really think Kaitlyn chose well. For now that's all I'll say.

Tonight I have another spring color from CND called Wild Moss. What an interesting color for a spring collection, right? It's a dusty sage green with small silver and gold flakes. One could easily take this for a shimmer polish if not looked at too closely though. I actually like this more in pictures than when I wore the polish. Perhaps it is just due to it being summer and I'm all, "MUST HAVE MOAR NEON COLORS!" As with all of the Vinylux polishes I've tried so far, I was extremely impressed with the perfect formula and application of Wild Moss.

Right on the Nail ~ CND Vinylux Spring 2015 Flora and Fauna Collection Swatches and Review: Thistle Thicket

CND Thistle Thicket (2 coats)

Hey guys! I'm finally back from vacation! I had a great time in Wisconsin and Ohio visiting family and friends. The weather was so much cooler there. I am so excited to watch the finale of the Bachelorette tonight! I know I shouldn't like the show, but I have no shame. Please tell me I'm not the only one who watches it.

Tonight I have one of the spring polishes from the CND Vinylux Flora and Fauna collection. I found these at my local nail supply store, but they were out of a few that I was interested in. I think I want all of them because the names are so cute! Thistle Thicket is a mix of dove grey and purple with a creme finish. I found that the color shifts a bit depending on the light and what I'm wearing. I think it's a beautiful neutral color to wear year-round. I was worried that the application would be a bit chalky, but I was pleasantly surprised that it was perfect in just 2 coats (and no streakiness or chalkiness). Your best bet to find the CND Vinylux polishes is at your local nail supply or online at Transdesign for $5.45 each.

Right on the Nail ~ China Glaze Summer 2015 Electric Nights Collection Swatches and Review: Red-y to Rave

China Glaze Red-y to Rave (3 coats)

Hi guys! Sorry for the lack of post yesterday, but work has been extremely busy/stressful all week. It doesn't help that I'm going on vacation tomorrow and I've been trying to play catch up all week. I digress.

I completely forgot that my husband bought be Red-y to Rave at my local nail supply store. It's a neon red/orange creme that reminds me of a traffic cone. Neon polishes are notoriously hard to capture, but I'm pretty happy with my swatches. I used 3 coats for the pictures above, but I know some people prefer to layer neon colors over a white base to make them stand out more (especially since some neon polishes have a bit of a jelly finish). Overall, I'm really happy with the colors I have from the Electric Nights collection.

The cheapest place to find China Glaze is through Transdesign for $3.25 each. Surprise, they also have the fall and Halloween collections available! You can also find them at your local Sally's Beauty Supply or Ulta stores where prices may vary. Get more info on China Glaze on their FacebookInstagram, or Twitter pages.

Right on the Nail ~ China Glaze Summer 2015 Electric Nights Collection Swatches and Review: Can I Get A Untz Untz

China Glaze Can I Get A Untz Untz (2 coats) over 2 coats Julep Janet

Hi guys! I have more summer polishes to share with you tonight. The first summer collection from China Glaze is called the Electric Nights collection and features some new matte glitter topcoats. This is a pretty new concept for a large company like China Glaze since most polishes like these have been released through indie brands. Can I Get A Untz Untz contains lime green, blue and purple matte hexagonal glitters in a clear base. The glitter density was just ok with these. You can definitely see the bubbles I got from trying to get a good sprinkling of glitter across the nail bed. Some people try and get around this by putting some of the polish on a makeup wedge to get rid of the excess base and placing the glitter on the nail. I did not do this, but it may be something you want to try. I ended up putting this over Julep's Janet which is a light peach color with a satin finish.

You can find China Glaze polishes at your local Sally's Beauty Supply or Ulta stores where prices may vary. Get more info on China Glaze on their FacebookInstagram, or Twitter pages.

Right on the Nail ~ China Glaze Summer 2013 Sunsational Collection Swatches and Review: Neon & On & On

China Glaze Neon & On & On (3 coats)

Hi guys! I bought a few of the new China Glaze matte glitters, but first I have another polish from the 2013 summer collection to show. Back in May I really wanted some bright colors and thought these polishes were a little more recent than 2013 ( I didn't bother to look online before purchasing...my bad). I just knew based on the name that I didn't have it. Neon & On & On is a neon pink creme that is a bit brighter in real life compared to my pictures. You know how neon polishes are notoriously difficult to photograph. The formula was a bit of a pain and was a streaky mess and needed 3 coats. If you can get a good deal I may recommend this one, but you could probably find an alternative with a better formula.

You can find China Glaze polishes at your local Sally's Beauty Supply or Ulta stores where prices may vary. Get more info on China Glaze on their Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter pages.

Right on the Nail ~ Zoya Summer 2015 Paradise Sun Collection Swatches and Reviews: Oceane

Zoya Oceane (2 coats)

*press samples*

Hi guys! It's been a really busy day, so please excuse my brevity. I also want to apologize for the weird pictures tonight, but my husband took my camera so I had to use my phone. I don't know how people get great pictures with their phone because clearly my skills are lacking. The very last color I have from the Zoya Paradise Sun collection is Oceane (I don't know anyone named Oceane...just saying) which is a bright medium blue shimmer. This is a pretty color, but I didn't find it to be very unique. Also, you may get some staining so make sure to use 2 good basecoats or use a peel-off basecoat to stop you from getting smurf fingers.

These retail for $9 and you can find out more about them on their websiteFacebookTwitter, or Instagram pages.

Right on the Nail ~ Zoya Summer 2015 Paradise Sun Collection Swatches and Reviews: Isa and Selene

Zoya Isa (2 coats)

Zoya Selene (2 coats)

*press samples*

Hi guys, can you believe it's Tuesday already? I was so happy to have yesterday off, but I feel like my whole week is messed up now. I'm also happy to announce that my family is taking a vacation to Wisconsin in a few weeks. Oh man, I need a vacation like crazy!

We're getting toward the end of the Zoya summer offerings, and so far it's a bit of a mixed bag. There are some winners, but there are also a few more duds than I'm used to. Isa is a mix between a purple and a blue (depending on the light) with metallic shimmer. I do really like this one! It's not the most unique Zoya polish, but it's a beautiful color. Next up is Selene which is a green metallic shimmer with hints of blue (so I guess that makes it a bit of a teal). I'd say this is my second favorite of the collection, for sure. You may get a little bit of staining with it so make sure you either double up on the basecoat or use a peel off basecoat. I was happy with the formula and application of both with just 2 coats.

These retail for $9 and you can find out more about them on their websiteFacebookTwitter, or Instagram pages.

Right on the Nail ~ Zoya Summer 2015 Paradise Sun Collection Swatches and Reviews: Genesis and Mae

Zoya Genesis (3 coats)

Zoya Mae (2 coats)

*press samples*

I hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July weekend, my dear readers. Since I worked on Friday (and was supposed to have the day off) I won't be working tomorrow. My wallet is still crying from all of the sales this weekend!

Tonight I have a couple more polishes from the shimmer half of the summer collection from Zoya called Genesis and Mae. I know many people were excited about having a white shimmer, but Genesis ended up leaving most disappointed. Count me as one of those disappointed with it. It's a bright white (not quite a stark white, but more eggshell) shimmer polish. If it were more of a crelly I think the shimmer would have stood out more, but the thick formula tended to make the shimmer more subtle. You have to be careful with the application and use thin coats or you will have tons of streaking and balding.

Mae is much simpler, and I can appreciate that. It's a bright magenta color with pink and silver shimmer. There are some comparisons of Mae to Gilda online and they are pretty close. Personally, I don't think you need to have both, but who am I to say? (I can't even estimate how many polishes I own...and how many potential dupes I have). The formula and application are more on par to what I'm used to with Zoya.

These retail for $9 and you can find out more about them on their websiteFacebookTwitter, or Instagram pages.

Right on the Nail ~ Sally Hansen Limited Edition Insta-Dri 4th of July Swatches and Reviews

Sally Hansen Quick Brick (2 coats)

Sally Hansen just renamed this polish because I found some swatches online that were obviously not this same true tomato red creme color. This had the best application and formula of the three and only needed 2 easy coats.

Sally Hansen Tag, Ur It! (2 coats)

Tag, Ur It! is a stark white creme that is a bit streaky on the first coat, but evens out fairly well on the second. I do wish it was more self-leveling than it is.

Sally Hansen Vandal Eyes (3 coats)

Vandal Eyes is a sky blue color with very subtle shimmer. Let's just go ahead and call this a creme because you can't see any shimmer here. It was quite sheer and needed 3 coats for full opacity.

*press samples*

Happy (almost) 4th of July to those in the US. I know, I forgot to wish my Canadian friends Happy Canada Day, sorry! Today I have a limited edition set of Insta-Dri polishes from Sally Hansen for this special day. While not all of them are true American colors (I'm looking at you, Vandal Eyes), they are still pretty. I'm still not a fan of the wide, tapered brushes on these polishes, especially with the narrow bottle top. I hope you all have a wonderful and safe holiday weekend!

These will run you about $5 from drugstores, but make sure to look out for sales. You can find more about Sally Hansen on their TwitterFacebook, and Instagram pages.

Right on the Nail ~ Zoya Summer 2015 Paradise Sun Collection Swatches and Review: Aphrodite

Zoya Aphrodite (3 coats)

*press samples*

Hi guys, the next few nights I am going to post the other summer collection from Zoya that features shimmers and glass-flecked polishes. As an aside, I noticed on Twitter a few days ago that Zoya now has a NM Naked Manicure line that features color perfectors as well as a separate basecoat and topcoat. I don't know much more than what the website states, but I am intrigued to say the least.

You guys will all be shocked, but one of my favorites of the Paradise Sun collection is Aphrodite. It's a bright red color that has purple and orange glass flecks. It has more of a jelly consistency compared to the Zoyas with the same type of look. It comes to no surprise that this will need either 2 heavy or 3 light coats to fully cover any nail lines. I used 3 easy ones for the photos above. It reminds me a bit of some of the tomatoes we have growing in the garden right now (we've already harvested a few so far).

These retail for $9 and you can find out more about them on their websiteFacebookTwitter, or Instagram pages.
