Noodles Nail Polish Cherry on Top Summer 2022 Collection Swatches and Reviews + Anniversary Polish

 *press samples*

Hi everyone! I know, I've been a bit too quiet for too long. I wish I could say I've been busy, but it's just been the usual around here. My husband and I did go to a new farmer's market this past weekend which was a blast. It was Tomato Day, and I'm a huge fan of tomatoes. We ended up getting some sweet corn, cheese, cherry tomatoes, cider, and hot breakfast sausage. I know, quite the variety! I wanted to buy some donuts made on site, but the line was crazy long. And the heat index was over 90 degrees at 10 AM. I should have a few more posts up in the next couple weeks, so keep checking back. Tonight I have the brand new 8-piece all glitter topper set from Noodles Nail Polish! These will be released this Thursday, July 14th at 5 PM ET and all polishes will retail for $10 each. Did you know that it's Noodles Nail Polish 9 year anniversary?! Natalie is also releasing a new polish on Thursday commemorating this special occasion. I wonder what she will be doing next year for 10 years.

As always, this is going to be a picture-heavy post, so lets get settled in for a bit.

Polish Pickup June 2020 Cocktails and Mocktails Swatches and Reviews

*press samples*

Long time, no blog! Tonight I've got 4 products from this month's Polish Pickup which is coming in hot. The inspiration is Cocktails and Mocktails and I don't actually drink. I mean, I did back in the day, but alcohol interferes with the medication I take these days so my husband tends to do the drinking (he's into craft beer). It's fine with him because he always has a designated driver. That said, I think this is a really fun theme as there are drinks in all the colors of the rainbow. New to PPU? If so, here's how it works:

Definitely join the Polish Pickup Facebook Group. You don't necessarily need to actively participate in the group, but it will give you a look at the polishes that will be available in the coming month. PPU themes are chosen by the people, often a few months in advance (brands need time to find their inspiration and test their polish). Any indie brand that has been around for at least a year can participate and each has their own specific inspiration picture and polish for that month. All you need to do is go to the Polish Pickup site during the pre-order window (the first Friday-Monday of the month) to make all of your purchases of these exclusive polishes. There's no need to pay for multiple shipping charges; since this is a pre-order, all polishes get sent to Polish Pickup and they send you the polishes you ordered. Yup, it's that simple. Oh, and shipping is a flat-rate of $3 to the US (more for international and they just had to increase the pricing to Canada). Recently they also opened a UK site which you can find here. Since all orders are pre-orders, shipping will take place about 3 weeks after the end of the pre-order.

PPU starts Friday, June 5th at 11:00 AM ET and ends on Monday, June 8th at 11:59 PM (but if a polish has a cap and sells out before the end of the pre-order, it's gone, unless you get lucky and the cap gets raised...which is rare) on the PPU website. Guess what next month is?? PPU Rewind! Each brand gets to bring back a shade (or product) from a previous month for the PPU website, and a different color they can sell on their website if they're interested.

The website is currently open for wishlisting, so go check out this month's offerings STAT. Time for swatches!

Zoya Spring 2019 Innocence Collection Swatches and Reviews

*press samples*

Hi guys! Happy Saturday-I hope your weekend is going well so far. It's been raining cats and dogs here this week, and today is no different. So.much.rain. Other than that I've just been busy at work. Another pen show is coming up soon so I'll be working 7 days straight. Tonight I've got the Zoya spring offering which is a 6-piece collection featuring 4 cremes, 1 pearlescent shade, and one flakie glitter (more on that soon). Truth be told, my favorite polishes from Zoya tend to be their spring and fall collections. That's not to say I dislike their summer and winter sets at all. Zoya has been my go-to mainstream brand for years, and that hasn't changed. Instead of doing the same reds and pinks (I'm looking at you, OPI), they are continually bringing fresh colors and finishes. Shall we dive in?

Noodles Nail Polish Valentine's Day 2019 Duo Swatches and Reviews

*press samples*

I'm back with another duo, this time for Valentine's Day. This won't be the last you hear about Noodles Nail Polish this week, because I still have the 6-piece Winter 2019 Collection to show you. This Valentine's Day duo will be debuting this Friday, February 1st at 6 PM ET in the brand new Noodles Nail Polish website. Natalie is well-known for her glitter crellies, and it just so happens that both of these are beautiful crellies. These will retail for $9.50 each, and will be sold individually. If they happen to sell out, they will be restocked. Shall we get a closer look?

Noodles Nail Polish Daydreamer (3 thin coats)

Up first we have Daydreamer which is a pale pink crelly base with gold flakes, glitter, and shimmer. This is a soft shade, and I love pink and gold together. Since this one is more pastel-like, it was slightly streaky on the first coat, but built up well with the second. I went ahead with a third just to make sure everything was covered (bright lighting tends to show everything), but you'd be just fine with 2. It dries with a little texture from the glitter, so make sure to use a thicker topcoat to smooth everything out. It also dries with more of a satin finish from the pigment, so topcoat will help with that, too.

Noodles Nail Polish Once Upon a Time (2 coats)

Once Upon a Time is a lavender crelly base with magenta, violet, and fuchsia hexagonal glitters, and fine silver flakes. This is Natalie in a bottle. If you've tried glitter crellies from other brands that were thick and hard to apply, please do yourself a favor and try one from Noodles. I think I'll wear this on my Valentine's date to IHOP (don't ask...yes, our tradition is to eat at IHOP on Valentine's Day). This is 2 easy coats, and it dries with some texture from the glitters. I often get asked what peel-off basecoat I use, and I use the UNT Ready for Take Off. Removal of glitter polishes is easy-peasy.

Noodles ships extremely fast, so you shouldn't have a problem with getting them in time (as long as you're in the US, of course). I honestly don't have a favorite of the 2. Both of these are quintessential Valentine's Day shades, with a Noodles twist. Again, make sure to check them out this Friday at 6 PM. You can find out more about Noodles Nail Polish on their websiteInstagram pageFacebook page, and Facebook Fan Group.

California Lovin' July 2018 Indie Duo Collaboration: Mace Polish and 1850 Artisan Polish

*press samples*

Hi guys! This week has me all messed up. I swear that today is Sunday and not Thursday. I received 2 days off for the 4th, and was a much needed break. Tonight I have a special new collaboration from Stacy at Mace Polish (soon to be Static Lacquer). The California Lovin' set will be available bi-monthly (every other month, not twice a month) and will feature Mace Polish/Static Lacquer with a different special guest brand from the great state of California. The duos will be $20 + shipping in the Static Lacquer website

This month's guest is 1850 Artisan Polish which is a brand that has been on my radar since they started back in January. After trying them here for the first time, this won't be my last! The inspiration for this month's duo is a photo of the Painted Ladies of San Francisco at sunset. To be honest, I had to Google it 😬 I felt so foolish after I did so.

They are amazing pieces of architecture and full of color. The duo is available now for pre-order through Tuesday, July 10th at 11:59 PM PST. Since it is a pre-order, it will take about 2-3 weeks after the pre-order ends for items to ship. Now that we've gotten through all the info, shall we get to the swatches?

Zoya Summer 2018 Sunshine Collection Swatches & Reviews: Part I

*press samples*

Hi guys! Zoya collections tend to be large, so I thought I'd break this up into a couple parts. I know when I look at posts with too many photos I start to zone out a little bit...maybe that's just me. The Sunshine Collection recently debuted on their website, and it features 12 shades you'll be wearing on vacation this summer. Most of these are cremes, but there's a sprinkling of shimmers throughout. I'll be going on vacation for a week in July, and my husband and I are still trying to decide where to go. Any suggestions? Go ahead and hit that button to see more.

Jesse's Girl Cosmetics - Julie G Bohemian Dreams Collection Swatches and Reviews: Part II

*press samples*

Hi guys! Tonight I have the second half of the Julie G Bohemian Dreams collection to share with you. To be honest, I haven't been this impressed with a mainstream collection in months, especially at the price point. Speaking of pricing, individual bottles retail for $3.99, but you can buy the whole collection for just $9.95 on the Jesse's Girl website. I don't often say this, but I recommend buying the whole set to save yourself some major bucks...and because it's a beautiful collection. So how about we get to the final reviews?

Cameo Colours Lacquers Spring 2017 Floral Feelings Collection Swatches and Reviews

*I bought this*

Hi guys! I'm back with a brand new collection from Cameo Colours Lacquers. I haven't reviewed Cameo's polishes before, but she did work with me to make a new Nibs & Nails polish which will be coming up shortly. I was so surprised with her work and quality of polishes that I just knew I had to get her next collection. Floral Feelings is a 5-piece collection (4 polish +1 glitter topper) releasing this Friday, May 5, 2017 on the Cameo website. Stay to the end of the post for more information and pricing. It's time for May flowers, so this collection is appropriately themed for spring wouldn't you say? Follow me after the break to see full reviews!

Polish 'M Black Friday Limited Edition Polish Swatches and Review: Cold Hands, Warm Heart

Polish 'M Cold Hands, Warm Heart (2 coats)

Hi guys! Despite showing a polish tonight that was released back on Black Friday, it is actually still for sale! When it first went on sale, it sold out pretty much immediately and was only restocked a couple times. I have no idea how there are a few bottles left, but if you like it, I would buy it sooner rather than later.

Cold Hands, Warm Heart is a lavender crelly base with loads of subtle multi-colored microglitter and flakes. No one color stands out the most, but I see some pink, silver, green, and blue pieces. Oh, and if you have been lucky enough to try Michelle's polishes, you know how great she is at adding a strong shimmer in the background. Cold Hands, Warm Heart has this really cool aqua blue shimmer to it (unfortunately it's hard to photograph). I used 2 coats for the swatches above, and the formula was just perfect.

This retails for $8 and can be found on the Polish 'M website right now. I have no idea how long it's going to be up, but I highly recommend pretty much all of Michelle's colors. You can find Polish 'M on their storefrontFacebookInstagram, and Facebook Group pages (don't forget to use the code Right30 for 30% off your purchase).

Right on the Nail ~ Zoya Transitional 2016 Whispers Collection Swatches and Reviews: Part I

*press samples*

Hi guys! TGIF! Do you have any special plans? I don't have anything special planned, but that's ok with me. Tonight I have the first three polishes from the Whispers Collection from Zoya. These are all soft cremes that are perfect for spring. Let's look a little closer at these polishes.

Right on the Nail ~ Morgan Taylor Spring 2015 Cinderella Collection Swatches and Review: Best Ball Gown Ever and If the Slipper Fits

*press samples*

Tonight I (finally) have the last 2 polishes from the Cinderella Collection from Morgan Taylor. I hope you've enjoyed these as much as I did swatching them.

Morgan Taylor Best Ball Gown Ever (2 coats)

Best Ball Gown Ever is a medium lavender purple with a strong golden shimmer. You can also tell that there is some blue in there, too. I think this is very beautiful and feminine. The coverage and formula was superb in only 2 coats.

Morgan Taylor If the Slipper Fits (3 coats)

I'm a bit torn on If the Slipper Fits. It is a light blue/purple color with silver shimmer and holographic glitter. I found it to be a little too frosty for my taste. The glitter is really pretty, but you also have to be careful of brushstrokes due to the frost finish. I also wasn't too impressed with the 3 coats that were needed to cover the VNL.

I'm happy to report that you can now buy Morgan Taylor polishes online without a license from Loxa Beauty for $8.50 each (the Cinderella Collection is available now). You can keep up with Morgan Taylor on their Facebook and Twitter pages as well.

SinfulColors Shine Polish Review and Swatch: Spitfire

SinfulColors Shine Spitfire (2 coats)

Whew, it's been long days at work lately. I'm trying to finish up some experiments so I can start writing up some results and it's been quite hectic. I'm sorry I haven't been posting about my life much lately. Oh, we did have a wine and cheese party at our house this past weekend and meshed a bunch of scientists and philosophers together. Needless to say, it was interesting.

I have several SinfulColors polishes to show (that haven't been swatched yet), but until then you'll just have to see Spitfire from the Shine line. Now, I'm not 100% sure if the Shine line is discontinued or not based on what I've heard from the Nouveau Cheap blog. If there are any that you really want, I would get them now just in case. Spitfire is a light lavender purple creme....some might even call it radiant orchid. The polish was very pretty, and was better than most of the Shine polishes at self-leveling.

Jessica Cosmetics Spring 2014 Coral Symphony Collection Swatches: Conch Shell and Ocean Bloom

Jessica Cosmetics Conch Shell (2 coats)

Jessica Cosmetics Ocean Bloom (2 coats)

*press samples*

Happy Saturday! I have the final 2 polishes from the Coral Symphony collection and they both are very pretty colors. The first polish is Conch Shell which looks similar to Starfish Glow, but its softer cousin. When I think of the inside of a conch shell, I usually think of a paler pink, but this works. Out of all of the polishes, I found this one to be slightly harder to work with because it wasn't as self-leveling, but it wasn't too bad.

I find the name Ocean Bloom to be weird because when I think of an ocean bloom, I think of green (my old lab used to work on harmful algal blooms). Everyone is trying to get on the radiant orchid bandwagon, and this is their interpretation. It's a very soft lavender creme that got me at least 3 random compliments on. When you do your nails so often, people often take it for granted and don't give compliments anymore. Anyway, this one is great with perfect application and formula.

What did you think of this collection?

Sinful Colors Spring 2013 Sugar Rush Collection: Sweet Tooth

Sinful Colors Sweet Tooth (3 coats)

It's another manic Monday! My husband put together my Helmer last night so I need to sit down and actually get organized. Quick question: how do you organize your polishes? Brand? Color? Other? Please let me know.

I have one more Sugar Rush polish to show tomorrow, but tonight I have Sweet Tooth which is a light lavender shimmer/creme. Yup, it has hidden shimmer that you shouldn't bother looking for. It's pretty, but not very unique and I feel other companies have similar colors. The formula was thick and streaky, so get out your thinner. I'd also leave a little extra time between coats to inhibit any dragging that can occur.
