Hi guys! It's been a busy week for the blog, and we're not done yet. Tonight I've got the Noodles Nail Polish Winter Collection to share with you. This is quite appropriate since so many people are experiencing the Arctic blast hitting the US this week. Please be safe, and make sure to take care of all your pets, too. The set consists of 5 crellies and 1 jelly polish (with a bonus re-release of last year's Eskimo Kiss...Natalie didn't have the recipe anymore, so she recreated it as version 2.0). These will release with the Valentine's Day duo on 2/1/19 at 6:00 PM ET on the new Noodles Nail Polish website. Zoya Spring 2018 Thrive Collection Swatches and Reviews Part I

Hi guys! I just found out the other day that I have this Friday off for Good Friday! Hooray! I had to work a half day last year, so it was a pleasant surprise to get the whole day. Tonight I have the first half of the spring offering from Zoya which features 6 shimmer and creme polishes (technically one is called a topper, but I used it on its own). I just received the summer press release and it's another whopping 12 polish set, so hopefully I'll be able to show those to you soon. It hit 70 degrees here today, so it's sort of fitting to be showing these to you.

Hi guys! It's Dancing With the Stars night, and I've been following it this season. Do you watch? Do you have any favorites? I have some extra special things I want to put up this week, so I thought I should get an early start. Right on the Nail ~ March 2016 Target Subscription Box: SinfulColors in Lie-Lac

Hi guys! Back in March I bought my first ever Target Subscription Box. I loved the box, but they've been raising their prices for the past few months (the one I got was $5, I believe....April was $7, and May was $10). I know the price point depends on what's in the box unlike other subscription boxes, but I still felt like they should all be $5. It also differs from other boxes in that when you sign up, it's only for one box and you must order again every month. It seems like the boxes usually go on sale around the 1st of the month during the very early morning hours on EST. Anyway, my March box contained one full-sized SinfulColors polish in Lie-Lac which is a blue-toned lilac creme. I often find the formula on SinfulColors polishes to be quite hit-or-miss, and this one just so happens to be a hit! It was smooth sailing with this one in just 2 coats.

Hi guys! Today was a great mail day with orders coming in from Vapid Lacquer and Frenzy Polish. I'll likely be posting some pictures on Instagram and Twitter before they end up on the blog so make sure to follow me (@rightonthenail on both). Tonight I have a polish I bought from the There is a Song Collection which is inspired by River Song from Doctor Who. I think I've discussed my love for Doctor Who in the past, but I was really sad when David Tennant left and Matt Smith stepped in. I guess you could say that things haven't been the same since. Also, did you hear that Steven Moffat is leaving?! 

On a brighter note, the polish Hello Sweetie is a stunning color. It's a lilac creme with lots of large silver flakes. I can easily say I don't own anything like it, and I love the flakes. You may be wondering if the flakes made the application difficult, but I had no issues at all. They also lay completely flat so I didn't need a really thick topcoat. This is a must have!

Sally Hansen Summer 2014 Color Foil Collection Swatches and Reviews: Rose Copper and Pink Platinum

Sally Hansen Rose Copper (2 coats)

Rose Copper was another favorite of the chromes that leans more copper than rose. It's very neutral and work friendly with a little bit of spice to it. 

Sally Hansen Pink Platinum (2 coats)

Pink Platinum is a medium lilac pink that leans a bit more purple than pink. This one is ok, but I think I like the darker purple that I'll be showing soon.

So I received the brand new Color Foil Collection and I was so excited to try them out....that is, until I tried applying them. I'm sure you've all heard by now, you really have to have perfect nails for this to look good. Unfortunately, I don't have perfect nails, as you can see above. I tried using several basecoats and let them dry completely before applying polish, but it would always clump up the polish. I didn't want to buff my nails because I need them to be as strong as possible with all the acetone I use on them (most of you probably don't have this problem and this will likely help you). You also can't use a topcoat, but that is no issue at all since they dry extremely fast. They are all very pigmented, and you could likely get away with just 1 coat, but I wanted to try and cover my ridges, so I used 2 for all swatches. Make sure to shake these like a Polaroid picture before applying since the pigments can settle. These also work very well for stamping, so you nail artists out there will love these! The bottles actually have a plastic covering over the glass, but the covering color is extremely close to the color in the bottle. I sort of think it looks a little cheap, but that's just my opinion. Overall, I'm torn on these. If you don't look closely at my nails (like you guys are-eek!), then it looks really cool, but I feel that my swatches are terrible. What do you think?

FingerPaints Spring 2013 Rock My World Collection Swatches and Review: Rock Hard Lilac and Stone Cold Pewter

FingerPaints Stone Cold Pewter (2 coats, no topcoat)

FingerPaints recently completely revamped their line, including a new formula. I've tried several, and I really like them. When I first saw the Rock My World Collection, I thought they were normal metallic polishes and didn't think much of them. Then I heard they were textured, so I went right out and picked a couple up to show. I really think FingerPaints needs to start labeling the finishes on their polishes because you never know if you're going to get a matte or a textured polish. Anyway, I think this is what China Glaze meant to do with their Crinkled Chrome collection, but fell flat. These are definitely textured and feel a bit grainy which may bother some. Pretty much nothing bothers me so I didn't have a problem. Rock Hard Lilac is not really a lilac, but more of a periwinkle blue. In fact, I could not pick up much purple from this at all. Stone Cold Pewter is a silver/grey metallic. If something is called pewter, I will likely pick it up, and this did not disappoint. These are very pigmented, and I would recommend using as few coats as possible to get the most textured effect. Love these! You can find them at your local Sally Beauty Supply for around $4.29 or so. 

Nicole by OPI Limited Edition Spring 2014 Roughles Collection Swatches and Reviews

Nicole by OPI I'm Stucco on You (2 coats)

I'm Stucco on You is a lilac purple color with flecks of blue and pink. All formulas were thick in a good way and completely covered in only 2 coats. Drying time isn't too shabby and is definitely less than a half hour. 

Nicole by OPI On What Grounds (2 coats)

On What Grounds is the one that seems to dry with the most satin finish (this picture is of a completely dry polish. Some blogs didn't wait the full time and that's why they look almost gummy, but they aren't if you wait long enough). It's a light blue color leaning turquoise with dark blue and black flecks. Watch out because this one can stain if you don't wear a proper basecoat.

Nicole by OPI Rock the Look (2 coats)

Rock the look is a light pink with dark pink or red and purple/black flecks. 

Nicole by OPI Sand in My Shoe (2 coats)

Sand in my shoe is a light and creamy yellow with red flecks. 

Unfortunately I'm a bit behind on getting my hands on the Nicole by OPI Roughles collection. I looked high and low, and finally found them at a random CVS in a small town a few towns over. It's a 4 piece collection of spring pastels that featured a speckled effect with a textured finish. They retail for $7.99 and you may be able to find them at CVS, Target, or Kmart (perhaps among others). If you happen to find them, better pick them up as they are limited edition. I happen to love every single one of them and was so happy to find them!

Zoya Spam Swatches: Ki and Julie

I have no idea how I didn't know about Zoya's Ki. I guess because it wasn't part of a collection, it sort of fell to the wayside on my radar. Luckily my aunt was on the ball and got this beauty for me for Christmas. It's a purple and green duochrome that has great application and formula in 2 coats. It reminds me of Zoya's Adina, which it is not a dupe of. I love duochromes, so you know I love this one.

The next polish is Julie from the Spring 2013 Lovely Collection. At first I was "meh" about the collection, and it somehow just grew on me. There's something about the beautiful shimmer in this lilac purple polish that just draws me in. Apparently Zoya calls this a "wisteria purple," but I'm being nice calling it lilac. I don't think Julie deserves to be called an invasive species. The formula was ok. I found it needed 3 coats, but others have been able to do it in 2. 

Mariah Carey Liquid Sands Holiday 2013 Collection Swatches: Make Him Mine, Baby Please Come Come and Silent Stars Go By

I bought the 3 mini Mariah Carey Liquid Sand set for $10 from Ulta, and I thought it was a great way to try out some of the OPI's without spending much money (I used their $3.50 off $10 coupon you can always find on their website). I will start out with the formula and application since they were all the same. As always, I absolutely abhor the mini OPI bottles and brushes, and since they haven't changed them, it caused issues I'm sure I wouldn't normally have with these polishes. All of them only needed 2 coats which was great, and the dry time was medium (about 20 minutes at least) since you don't use topcoat (although you can).  

OPI Silent Make Him Mine (2 coats)

Make Him Mine is a dusty rose pink with lots of glitter. It also looks a little coppery in some lights. 

OPI Baby Please Come Home (2 coats)

Baby Please Come Home is a dusty lilac purple textured polish that is definitely my favorite of the 3. This will be worn all year round, for sure.

OPI Silent Stars Go By (2 coats)

Silent Stars Go By is a textured light pink color with champagne beige accents. 

Overall, this is a good deal for 3 OPI polishes. My only complaint is that Silent Stars Go By and Make Him Mine are a little too similar for this small set. I wish they would have included Kiss Me at Midnight instead. Oh well, I still think they are nice colors.
