Noodles Nail Polish Holiday 2018 Collection Swatches and Reviews

*press samples*

Hi guys! I meant to post this yesterday, but I ended up getting a tetanus shot which left me feeling a little crappy the rest of the night. Long story short, I needed the shot anyway, and I may have been accidentally bitten by Mr. Nose (my cat) while trying to give him a pill. He didn't mean to; he was just trying to stop me from giving him the pill and get away. That said, I'm feeling a bit better today. I've been so excited to make this post since the day the box came in the mail. This is my first holiday collection reviewing for Noodles Nail Polish, and I couldn't wait to see what Natalie had in store for us. *hint you won't be disappointed*

The collection will be released this Friday, November 16th at 6 PM EST. Each polish will be sold individually for $9.50 each in the Noodles Nail Polish site. I don't have photos of them, but 3 previously sold holiday-themed polishes will be available as well (Bah Hum Bug, Peppermint Twist, and Resting Grinch Face). This is a very picture-heavy post, so I think we should get right to it.

Noodles Nail Polish Gingerbread Latte (2 coats)

The first moment I saw Gingerbread Latte I thought of Santa's 8 reindeer. Reindeer...a delicious espresso drink...same thing, right? Oops! Gingerbread Latte is a cool-toned brown jelly with gold, copper, red, and green glitters in various sizes. To be honest, this was a surprise hit for me. If you're on the fence getting a brown polish, don't be. You're going to hear me say this a lot in this review, but it's just so festive. I was expecting to need 3 coats due to the jelly finish, but I was able to use just 2 for my swatches. It dried with texture due to the glitters, so make sure to use a thick topcoat.

Noodles Nail Polish Ho Ho Ho (2 coats)

You guys know my feelings on red polishes. If you laid out 10 polishes in different colors, I'd probably pick the red out last. That said, Ho Ho Ho is a top pick for the collection! It's a bright red jelly base with holographic silver, gold, and bronze flakes, and silver/copper microglitters. It's festive, it's bright, and it's fun! My co-worker saw this and immediately said it reminded her of Christmas and she wanted to borrow it for her next manicure. This was extremely opaque, and completely covered in 2 easy coats.

Noodles Nail Polish Peppermint Mocha (3 coats)

You know Natalie had to sneak in a white crelly for the collection! Dare I say it's my favorite one to date? It's a white crelly base with medium to large deep bronze and red glitters. This dries with some texture, of course, so use that thick topcoat and peel-off basecoat if you have it. I ended up using 3 thin coats for my photos, and it's the only 3-coater of the collection.

Noodles Nail Polish Saint Nick (2 coats)

Yay, we've got another multichrome from Noodles! The most prominent shades in Saint Nick are burgundy and copper/gold, but you can see tinges of green at extreme angles. It's hard to capture in bright light, but it's definitely there. It also has copper/gold/pink microglitters and bronze/gold/red flakies for added depth and dimension. It's definitely more complex than your traditional multichrome polish. It dried with very little texture, and I needed just 2 coats for my photos.

Noodles Nail Polish Sugarplum Dreams (2 coats)

Up next is Sugarplum Dreams which is a dusty aubergine crelly with strong flashes of red from added shimmer, flakes, and glitter. I'm continually impressed with the unexpected color combinations that work so well in polish form. I used 2 coats for my photos, and it dried a little dull, so you'll want to add a layer of topcoat.

Noodles Nail Polish Twinkling Lights (2 coats)

Last, but certainly not least, we have Twinkling Lights which is a gold holo flakie with copper shimmer, bronze flakes, and aurora pigment. It's a great gold because it doesn't lean too yellow and will look great with pretty much all skintones. This one is extremely holographic, so prepare yourself for the rainbow in direct sunlight or full-spectrum lighting. Be careful applying this one because if you get a tiny bit of polish on your skin, it's a bit difficult to get off because of all the tiny flakes. I had to go over a spot a few times because I kept finding more flakes that I was just spreading around. That's not the polish's fault by any means, just something to be aware of. This is 2 simple coats, and it dried with a tiny bit of texture.

I hope you enjoyed this holiday collection as much as I did! My top picks are Gingerbread Latte, Ho Ho Ho, and Peppermint Mocha. Natalie from Noodles Nail Polish is the queen of crellies and glitter, and that's evident in this collection. Like always, her sets have a variety of finishes and a little bit of something for everyone. Again, these will be available this Friday, November 16th at 6 PM EST for $9.50 each. You can find out more about Noodles Nail Polish on their websiteInstagram pageFacebook page, and Facebook Fan Group.

Wait tetanus shot or rabies shot?

Just a tetanus. It's recommended by doctors to get a tetanus shot if it's been over 5 years and you get a cat bite. Mr. Nose definitely has his rabies vaccinations :)
