Great Lakes Lacquer Polish Con 2016 Inspired Polishes: Leaves in the Lake and Leaves in the Sand

*purchased with a blogger discount*

Hi guys! I know I'm a little late in posting tonight, but it was a busy day. My collage above is a little misleading because I have just 2 polishes to show and not 3. Mariah from Great Lakes Lacquer is releasing her first thermal polish! Leaves in the Lake and Leaves in the Sand are polishes inspired by Polish Con and will make their debut there, but they will be for sale in the Etsy shop on September 21st at 3:00 PM EST. Shall we get started?

Great Lakes Lacquer Leaves in the Lake (3 coats)

Mariah's flakie polishes are some of my favorites. Up until today, The Last Sliver of Sun was my favorite polish from Great Lakes Lacquer, but I think Leaves in the Lake is a very close second. It really does look like leaves in water (a puddle, pond, lake, etc.)! It's a deep blue jelly with multi-colored flakes. The amount of coats you will want to use will depend on your nail length and how much depth you want to the flakes. I opted for 3 coats, but you may get away with 2. The formula was extremely smooth and I had no issues with the formula.

Look at this thermal! For some reason my hands were really cold the day I swatched this. so Leaves in the Sand wanted to stay in the cool state (which is fine with me because I like the deeper color more). You can see the color in each state in the collage above, but I wasn't able to really get the transition in photo form. This isn't to say that you won't be able to, because you will definitely will. Several other bloggers were able to capture the change from apple red to burgundy, so keep your eyes peeled on some other popular blogs. Like Leaves in the Lake it had a perfect formula, but it only needed only 2 coats for full coverage.

Leaves in the Lake will retail for $12 while Leaves in the Sand will be $10 due to the expensive ingredients. I think Mariah knocked these out of the park, and you need to pick these up on the 21st (or at Polish Con)! Make sure to check out what Great Lakes Lacquer is up to on their EtsyFacebook, and Instagram pages as well.

*These polishes were provided by the brand at a discounted price. All reviews are based solely on my opinion. For more information, please see my full disclosure at the bottom of the site*
