Great Lakes Lacquer Fall 2016 A Nude Awakening Collection Swatches and Reviews

*purchased with a blogger discount*

Hi guys! I've been loving the photos from Polish Con from this past weekend, and I'm jealous of those of you who got to go. The polishes I have to show tonight premiered at Polish Con and will be released on the Great Lakes Lacquer Etsy site on Wednesday Sept 21st at 3:00 PM EST. If you are a fan of interesting nude polishes, then this collection is definitely for you! I'm lucky enough to be able to wear the craziest nail polishes at work, but I know many people are not as fortunate. Follow me after the break for more information and swatches.

Great Lakes Lacquer Coffee Is Necessary (2 coats) ~ $10

I would say most people agree that coffee is necessary. Always. Somehow I'm not one of those people, but I'm getting better at drinking coffee. The polish is a gorgeous chocolately tan base with tons of gold and bronze multichrome flakes and gold shimmer. Come on! I think this will look great on all skintones. The formula was fantastic and needed just 2 coats for full opacity.

Great Lakes Lacquer Don't Forget the Whip (3 coats) ~ $11

Don't Forget the Whip is a beige vanilla crelly with loads of ultrachrome flakes and pink to gold shimmer. I think this is my pick from the collection, but it's no surprise there. Mariah does flake polishes so well! I found the formula to be a bit more watery and sheerer than my other Great Lake Lacquers, but it was nothing too difficult to manage.

Great Lakes Lacquer Make Mine a Grande (2 coats, diffused daylight LED)

Great Lakes Lacquer Make Mine a Grande (2 coats, direct daylight LED to show holo) ~ $11

Make Mine a Grande is a nude color with bronze shimmer, holo micro flakes, and a light linear holo finish. It's beige enough to look good with yellow undertones, and pink enough to look good with cool undertones. The flakes make the polish interesting even in indoor light (where the holo effect doesn't stand out). I used 2 easy coats for the photos above.

Great Lakes Lacquer Sleeve Me (2 coats) ~ $9

And finally we have Sleeve Me which is a pale purple with grey undertones and bronze and pink shimmer. I'm glad Mariah included a neutral purple to mix things up. This again was just 2 smooth coats. Love it!

I don't know how to choose my favorites! Don't Forget the Whip is my favorite, but I think you should just get all of them! The whole collection will be released this Wed. Sept. 21st at 3:00 PM EST, and you can get all 4 polishes for $37, or individually as priced above. Make sure to check out what Great Lakes Lacquer is up to on their EtsyFacebook, and Instagram pages as well.

*These polishes were provided by the brand at a discounted price. All reviews are based solely on my opinion. For more information, please see my full disclosure at the bottom of the site*
