Right on the Nail ~ Black Creme Polish Comparison

*press samples*

Left: Sally Hansen Blacky O (2 coats) Middle: Morgan Taylor Little Black Dress (2 coats) Right: NYC Black Lace Creme (2 coats)

Tonight I have a little something different for you. I received several different black creme polishes to review with Halloween right around the corner. On the nail, all three basically look the same, but they all have different brushes, consistencies, and prices. On the left is Blacky O from the Sally Hansen Miracle Gel line. It had a formula that was slightly jelly-like. Unlike a jelly it only needed 2 coats. In the middle we have the Morgan Taylor color called Little Black Dress that was easily the most opaque and easiest to apply of the three. It is also the most expensive and hardest to find. And finally, on the right is New York Cosmetics' (NYC) Black Lace Creme. It had a really thin, almost jelly formula, but still only needed 2 coats.

The price and availability are important points to mention as well. If you need the polish for this weekend, you will be able to find the Sally Hansen for around $8 at your local Ulta, Target, Walmart, Walgreens, CVS, or Rite Aid stores. NYC is also easy to find at Target, Walmart, Rite Aid, CVS, or Kmart. Oh, did I mention that these will run you a buck? That's right, a dollar. And finally, Morgan Taylor is not easy to find for non-professionals. Fortunately, there is one place you can purchase your Morgan Taylor, OPI, or CND polishes, and that's Loxa Beauty. You can buy polishes for retail price, but right now they have 15% off all purchases with the code TREAT15. Overall, if I want a great black polish that I plan on wearing a lot, I would go with Morgan Taylor, but if it's just something for once a year or just a costume, you may want to just buy the NYC color.
