I'm baaaaacckkkk! It feels like I've been away for an eternity. I had a talk at my conference and it went well. Guess what? I have another conference next weekend. I know. I'll try to be better at uploading posts for when I'm gone. Tonight I have the start of several posts of polishes I bought during the recent Rescue Beauty Lounge sale. I just found out tonight they are closing their doors soon.  So sad! You may want to pick up some polishes while they are still open. Anyway, let's start, shall we?

Right on the Nail ~ China Glaze Summer 2015 Electric Summer Swatches and Review: UV Meant to Be

Just a quick reminder that the Rescue Beauty Lounge nail polish is 50% until 11 PM tonight (these retail for $20 so this is the only time I can afford to get a couple...cuz das expensive). Also, I don't believe I mentioned that there will be some CoverGirl Star Wars polishes coming later this year. Any thoughts? I'm not the biggest fan of CoverGirl polishes, but I'll be interested in seeing some swatches.

Tonight I have another color from the summer China Glaze collection called UV Meant to Be. It's a lovely, bright robin's egg blue creme that would also make a cute pedicure. It's bright, but not neon like most of the collection. I think this may have been the reason why the polish applied really well and was fully opaque in 2 coats.

Rescue Beauty Lounge Polish Swatch: Be Humble

I forgot to show a Rescue Beauty Lounge polish! How did I do that? Anyway, Be Humble is from the Emoting Me collection and is a taupe with pink and blue shimmer. It sort of reminds me of the Ruby White Tips polish Jane's Lemming, but lighter and with lots less blue shimmer. Secretly I like Jane's Lemming better now that I look at them both together. Anyway, Be Humble is still a nice polish and had great application in 2 coats, as usual. Ok, I'm for real done with the Rescue Beauty Lounge polishes this time.

:-( This is my last Rescue Beauty Lounge polish to show you. The next time you'll see swatches is when they have another 50% off sale, unfortunately. Anyway, I left Piu Mosso for last and it's a deep blue color with coppery orange shimmer. This was another polish that I had to do a double take to figure out what the color really was. It's darker in real life and made my camera go crazy; I just wanted to let you know that. This was almost a 1 coater, and probably could be if you're extra careful. Tonight's Rescue Beauty Lounge swatch comes from the GOMM collection and it's a poppy red color with red, orange and pink shimmer appropriately called Poppy. I wish the shimmer was a bit more pronounced, but this is actually a red that I love. Maybe it's because I think poppy flowers are beautiful, but I don't care, I still like this polish and I hope you do, too. As always, the application and formula were wonderful.

Tonight I have a couple more Rescue Beauty Lounge polishes to show, with the first coming from The Real Housewives of Tudor England Collection called Catherine H for Catherine Howard. Poor Catherine Howard was beheaded :-( On a brighter note, the polish is a dusty periwinkle blue color with gold and pink shimmer throughout. So beautiful! It had a wonderful application and formula in only 2 coats. 

Up next is Turn It Around which comes from the Emoting Me Collection and is a mossy green color with lots of bronze and copper shimmer. This one is so complex it was hard to figure what the colors really were at first glance. The shimmer in it is so pronounced, it almost takes away from the green color. Happy Saturday! You may have noticed that I don't swatch many Rescue Beauty Lounge polishes and there's a good reason for that: I cannot afford them! $20 for 1 polish? What is this, Chanel or Dior? I don't make enough money to justify that price. Well, when they had their 50% sale (I wish the blogger collections were in this) I knew I had to get my hands on some. While there has been some controversy over this brand (which I won't bother getting in to....you can find it on the internet), one thing has stayed true and that's that their polishes and formula are wonderful. 

I have two green polishes to show today, the first being Become One which comes from their 2013 Emoting Me collection. It's a grassy green creme that is just so smooth. It has just enough blue in there to make it the color of a leaf. As I said before, their formula is the best in the business. I bought several of these, and you will only hear positive things when it comes to application and formula. Also, they usually only need 2 coats for full coverage. 

The second color is Abi from the 2012 GOMM collection which is a yellow-green color with some strong silver shimmer. It's sort of hard to see the shimmer in the pictures, but it is quite evident in real life. You know I love shimmer, so Abi wins this round for me. My husband picked out Become One and was quite smitten with it, so I guess you can say that Ji knows what she's doing when it comes to green. I cannot believe I forgot to post about my final Rescue Beauty Lounge polish from their 50% off sale. As I've said before, my husband picked all these colors out and gave them to me for Christmas. Thanks, Mr. Right on the Nail! Recycle is a blue-based deep green creme polish. Upon visual inspection, Recycle is definitely has more blue to it compared to Illamasqua's Rampage and it is also a creme and not a jelly polish. As with all RBL polishes, this is definitely an investment as they run $18 per bottle. The only time I can order is during sales (which, from what I hear, will not be happening again according to Ji, the owner of RBL). I really hope they continue to have this annual sale! As always, the application and formula was incredible so at least you know you are getting a quality product for the price. If you are a die hard fan of green, I would recommend this one to you, but if you can take 'em or leave 'em, I would definitely choose a more reasonably priced polish.

I know, I've been slacking on the blog lately. I really am sorry. I don't have a job and it's been a really difficult battle for me. There is nothing more depressing than being passed up time and time again :-( I am just so stressed that posting is just too much for me. I have been applying for part time work so I hope at least something will pop up soon. Wish me luck! 

As I stated before, my husband picked all of the Rescue Beauty Lounge polishes for me and I think he did a great job! Bangin is a bright coral creme that is very pigmented. You saw this one last week when I posted my OSU nail art, but I thought I'd post a picture of a normal manicure. The application and formula was on par with all other RBL polishes.

I really wish I didn't love Rescue Beauty Lounge polishes as much as I do. On the one hand, they apply just so smoothly and the pigmentation is just to die for on all the ones I've tried. Of course they have to cost an arm and a leg (unless you get them during their yearly sale). I missed the sale this year due to the dissertation (I think I had some paperwork to turn in that ended up taking for-e-ver), but my husband was kind enough to give me four of their polishes for Christmas this year. You've already seen one of them a few months ago because he just couldn't wait and gave me one (Dead Calm) after Thanksgiving. Here we have Stormy which is a medium grey creme that indeed reminds me of the clouds when it is going to storm outside. Unfortunately the area around us has been getting snow (so far we've been lucky enough not to get any *knocks on wood*). What about you? Have you been getting hit with bad weather lately? The application and formula was just perfect. I mean seriously, there's something about their polishes that make my manicures look great in real life and in pictures which can be a rarity.

2 Coats Rescue Beauty Lounge Bangin and 2 coats of Color Club Wild Orchid

The OSU game is on tonight, so I decided to do a little nail art using Scotch tape. This is my first time using the method, and I think it went just fine. I think I will use painter's tape next time because I got a little bit of bunching up and you can see where this happened on the pinkie finger. The colors aren't 100% OSU accurate, but it's pretty close. One thing that is important is to make sure the base coat is completely dry before you do the top layer (I chose to do this the next day to ensure it was dry). GO BUCKEYES (in case I haven't mentioned it, I grew up in Ohio :-)

Man, I've been so stressed and upset this week about not being able to find a job yet. For some reason you get it in your head that the more experience and education you have, the easier it will be to find a new job. But no, that's just delusional. I've been told not to worry about it,  but it's so hard not to. What's going to happen with the blog? Good question. I stop getting paid at the end of the month, so I'm not really going to have much spending money from now on. I will be doing what I can to continue the blog, but I don't know if I'll be able to keep up the pace I've been going for the past year and a half. In no way am I saying I'm giving up on the blog, but things may be changing. I hope you can understand. Ugh, now that the sad and depressing part is over with, let's get on with the post for today. 

I love Rescue Beauty Lounge polishes, but I absolutely hate their price. The only time that I can afford their polishes is during their 50% off sale. I ended up getting Dead Calm which is an awesome dark royal blue creme that is actually darker in real life compared to my picture. The best part of RBL polishes? Their application, of course! I used 2 coats here, but honestly only 1 was needed and it was completely opaque. I hope you have a great weekend!

So yes, this is a repost of Rescue Beauty Lounge Bruised. The picture I took last time looked so bad that I decided it needed to be shown again. This polish, is it brown or is it purple? My husband and his family thought it looked more purple in the bottle, but looked brown on the nail. I ended up putting a purple shirt on later that day and it really brought out the purple in it. If you are really careful with application, you could get away with 1 coat, but I went with 2 for better coverage.  The formula on this one was just wonderful like all RBL polishes I've tried.

Please excuse the tipwear on this one. I wasn't able to take the picture for a day and a half. So, this is my last RBL polish to swatch (cries a little inside). This polish, Bruised, is it brown or is it purple? My husband and his family thought it looked more purple in the bottle, but looked brown on the nail. I ended up putting a purple shirt on later that day and it really brought out the purple in it. And yes, you read that correctly-this is ONE COAT! Sure, it probably could have used one more, but it still looked fine with one. The formula on this one was wonderful. Overall, I was very impressed with the polishes (both formula and application).

On a different note, how often do you change your toenail polish? I am such a slacker and do mine about once every 2 weeks if I'm lucky. Do you guys give up doing your toes in the winter since people won't see them? Right now I am wearing Zoya Roxy on them.
