Noodles Nail Polish Holiday 2022 Collection Swatches and Reviews and Black Friday Sale

 *press samples*

Hello hello! Happy Thanksgiving Week for my US readers! Safe travels if you're visiting family or friends out-of-state. Tonight I have the Noodles Nail Polish 8-piece holiday collection which features 2 glitter toppers, 4 glitter crellies, 1 jelly, and 1 holo polish. Each polish will be priced at $10, and will released this Wednesday, November 23rd at 5 PM EST. And that's not all: Wednesday also marks the beginning of the Black Friday Sale. Here's what Natalie has to say about the sale:

"Starts Wednesday November 23rd at 5 pm EST and ends Monday 11:59 PM EST. 25% off  your entire purchase (excludes new holiday collection) no code necessary or minimum. Discount will be automatically applied at checkout.

Please note that since this discount is automatically applied it still counts as a coupon code and Shopify only allows one per transaction.  Any US orders $75 or more (after discount) qualify for free shipping and will have the shipping manually refunded by myself when I process your order for packaging.  International $7 discount will also be refunded.

Every order of 6 or more polishes will receive a FREE Black Friday 2022 mystery polish (while supplies last-it will be announced if they run out).

No code necessary for this, it will be added when shipping. It can be any 6 polishes, whether they are discounted or not. One mystery per customer.

I can not combine orders during this sale due to high volume of orders. I apologize for the inconvenience.  I will not be able to restock anything that sells out, as shipping orders takes priority during the sale. I will restock what sells out as soon as I can, but nothing will restock during the sale. I am going to try my best to have a lot on hand, but you never know what will be most popular!"

Head on over to the website to see which polishes are eligible for the sale. This is going to be a very pic heavy post, so shall we get get this party started?

Zoya Spring 2022 Abundance Collection Swatches and Reviews

 *press samples*

Hello hello! I know, I'm insanely behind on my Zoya swatches, but I should be catching up in the near future. The good news is that Zoya tends to keep their collections around for a long, so you can still pick these up on their website for $12 each (always look out for those great sales they run). This 6-piece set features 5 creams and one shimmer/glitter shade. Shall we go and take a closer peek?

Noodles Nail Polish Holiday 2021 Collection Swatches and Reviews + Black Friday Sale Info

 *press samples*

Hi everyone! Whew, it's November. IT'S NOVEMBER! Remember how a month or 2 ago I said I needed to start shopping for Christmas super early? Well, technically I did, but I'm still not far enough along. How are all of you holding up? I'm actually going to see BTS in concert in LA in a few weeks and I cannot tell you how excited I am. I haven't had anything to look forward to in such a long time, and I was so lucky to score some tickets (they've gotten so popular). Tonight I have the holiday collection from Noodles Nail Polish to share with you. This 7-piece set features a variety of finishes including glitter toppers, crellies, and jellies and will be available this Friday, November 19th at 5 PM EST. All polishes will retail for $10 except for 8 Nights and Lights which will be $9.50.

I just received information regarding this year's Black Friday sale, so here's the scoop:

"Coming a little earlier this year with a bigger discount!
Starts Wednesday November 24th at 9 pm EST and ends Monday 11:59 PM EST. 25% your entire purchase (excludes new holiday collection and mystery christmas duo) no code necessary or minimum. Discount will be automatically applied at checkout. To view all polishes included in the sale you can click on the tab Black Friday Sale. Please note that since this discount is automatically applied it still counts as a coupon code and Shopify only allows one per transaction. Any US orders $75 or more (after discount) qualify for free shipping and will have the shipping manually refunded by myself when I process your order for packaging.
Every order of 6 or more polishes will receive a FREE Black Friday 2021 mystery polish (while supplies last-it will be announced if they run out).
No code necessary for this, it will be added when shipping. It can be any 6 polishes, whether they are discounted or not. Mystery Christmas duo counts as ONE bottle since they are prepackaged and 1 listing. So if you order 1 of those sets, you would still need 5 other polishes to earn the Black Friday mystery. One mystery per customer.
I cannot combine orders during this sale due to high volume of orders. I apologize for the inconvenience. I will not be able to restock anything that sells out, as shipping orders takes priority during the sale. I will restock what sells out as soon as I can, but nothing will restock during the sale. I am going to try my best to have a lot on hand, but you never know what will be most popular!"

Buckle up, friends: I hope you're ready for some glitter. :-D

Nailed It! Summer 2020 Shades of Summer Collection Swatches and Review: Nightfall

*I bought this*

Hi everyone! It has been a hot minute since I've blogged, right? Don't worry, I have my monthly Polish Pickup post coming up soon, so you won't miss me again. I hope you're staying safe during the pandemic; I've been staying home, wearing a mask, and practicing proper hygiene. Oh, I'm on vacation next week, too! I mean, I'm not going anywhere, so I guess you can call it a staycation. My parents are coming to visit me and it's the first time I've seen them since January. They will have their own areas of our house, and we will be wearing masks and distancing, but it will be so nice to just have them there even if we'll be adding a few extra feet between us.

Other than that, not much else has been going on with me. I've been working out as much as possible; I've lost about 75 lbs since last May. If I can do it, you can do it. I have strictly worked out from home using Les Mills On Demand. Let me know if you want to hear more about my fitness journey. And yes, it truly is a journey. There is a beginning, but never an end. Tonight I'm featuring a brand that has quickly become a favorite of mine. Tiara is the mastermind behind Nailed It! and she is based out of Hawaii. Tonight I have one shade from their newest collection, the Shades of Summer, which is full of shifty shimmers.

Nailed It! Nightfall (3 coats)

Nailed It! Nightfall, low light (3 coats)

Did I go a little nuts with all the photos? Yes, but no regrets. Nightfall is an extremely shifty polish. It has a medium cool purple base color that has red/gold/green/blue shifting shimmer with a slight holographic finish. Straight on and in bright light you see the purple and red, and as you start to angle your nails, the gold and green comes out to play. If you have low light, the gold and green are most evident with the blue only coming out in low light and at extreme angles. I hope this makes sense! I could have used 2 coats, but I went ahead and used a third thin coat for good measure. I've never had an issues with the formula on any of their polishes. I absolutely love this polish, and I've received many compliments while wearing it. I'm actually considering a backup bottle.

This one retails for $12.50 and it's available now on the Nailed It! website. You can find out more about Nailed It! on their site, Facebook Group, Instagram, or YouTube pages.

Polish Pickup April 2020 Aquatic Wonder Swatches and Reviews

*press samples*

Hi guys! I hope the physical distancing has been going ok for you. I know this is a tough time for everyone, but at least we can come together to support other small indie brands through Polish Pickup. I may not be able to purchase quite as much as I usually do, but I will definitely be getting a handful of items.

This month's theme is Aquatic Wonder which is near and dear to my heart having done my Ph.D on the microorganisms in aquatic ecosystems. New to PPU? If so, here's how it works:

Definitely join the Polish Pickup Facebook Group. You don't necessarily need to actively participate in the group, but it will give you a look at the polishes that will be available in the coming month. PPU themes are chosen by the people, often a few months in advance (brands need time to find their inspiration and test their polish). Any indie brand that has been around for at least a year can participate and each has their own specific inspiration picture and polish for that month. All you need to do is go to the Polish Pickup site during the pre-order window (the first Friday-Monday of the month) to make all of your purchases of these exclusive polishes. There's no need to pay for multiple shipping charges; since this is a pre-order, all polishes get sent to Polish Pickup and they send you the polishes you ordered. Yup, it's that simple. Oh, and shipping is a flat-rate of $3 to the US (more for international and they just had to increase the pricing to Canada). Recently they also opened a UK site which you can find here. Since all orders are pre-orders, shipping will take place about 3 weeks after the end of the pre-order.

PPU starts Friday, April 3rd at 11:00 AM ET and ends on Monday, April 6th at 11:59 PM (but if a polish has a cap and sells out before the end of the pre-order, it's gone, unless you get lucky and the cap gets raised...which is rare) on the PPU website.

The website is currently open for wishlisting, so go check out this month's offerings STAT. Time for swatches!

Seventy Seven Nail Lacquer Falloween 2019 Collection Swatches and Reviews

*press samples*

Hi guys! I just got back from Dallas where it was the same temperature and less humid than NC. I can't believe it's still 93 degrees here and it's almost October. I'm happy to report this is the last work travel for the year and I'm good with that. Tonight I have a brand I've never reviewed before, Seventy Seven Nail Lacquer. I have the 5-piece Falloween Collection to share with you tonight, and it features shimmers and multichrome shades which are some of my favorites. They are now available as a pre-order until September 9/30 at 11:59 PST.  They retail for $11.50 each, or as a discounted set for $55 which will save you a few bucks. Like most of my posts lately, it is quite picture-heavy, so should we get to some swatches?

Literary Lacquers September 2019 Polish Pickup Magic and Alchemy: Every God and Devil There Ever Was

*press sample*

Hi guys! I'm back with the second installment of my PPU offerings, this time from Literary Lacquers. If you are new to PPU, please check out my post from the other day where I give the whole rundown. PPU starts Friday, Sept 6th at 11:00 AM ET and ends on Monday, Sept 9th at 11:59 PM on the PPU website. This month's inspiration is Magic and Alchemy, which is quite a broad spectrum. I'm so happy that Amy from Literary Lacquers is participating now as I've always been impressed with her ingenuity and formula.

Literary Lacquers Every God and Devil There Ever Was (3 coats)
Price: $12
Cap: None
Inspiration: the comic The Invisibles by Scottish writer and chaos magic practitioner Grant Morrison

I always feel so bad when I haven't read/watched the inspiration for a particular polish. Every God and Devil There Ever Was is a deep indigo jelly base with UCC flakes and holo micro glitters. You may be able to get away with 2 coats, but I used a third because bright lights tend to accentuate any visible nail line. It applied perfectly, and dried with a little bit of texture from the glitters. One coat of topcoat should smooth everything out for you though. Although it's dark, it never appeared black (the jelly base really helped with that). I didn't even think to add a matte topcoat to this, so thankfully you can see how cool this one looks from Jen at Laugh, Love, Contour.

It seems like a lot of brands are lifting caps so you don't have to have ninja fingers to get what you want. Hurray! It's been cooler here in NC for the past few days, and this one is giving me fall vibes. What do you think? To learn more about Literary Lacquers, check out their website, Facebook Group, Facebook page, and Instagram while you can find more about PPU on their Facebook page and website. As always, thanks for reading!

Noodles Nail Polish Summer 2019 Collection Swatches and Reviews

*press samples*

I hope you're not sick of me yet! I know there was radio silence from me for several weeks, but I'm back with a vengeance. Surprise, Noodles has a new collection releasing Thursday, August 1st at 5 PM EST. It's a 6-piece set full of classic Noodles goodness...which you know means glitter, glitter, and more glitter! All polishes will retail for $9.50 each. Also releasing on Thursday is a brand new prototype which I do not have to share with you, so you'll have to stop by the Noodles website to check it out. Natalie usually has one big Black Friday sale a year, but she is bursting at the seams with polish, so most polishes (minus the new collection, of course), will be discounted. Not all final stock polishes will be on sale, but most will be. No code will be needed, and the discount will be reflected on the website. Woot! This is going to be an extremely picture-heavy post, so let's get into this.

Anyone else watching that tonight? Anyway, I have the other 2 mystery polishes from the Quixotic Polish Mystery Bag to show you tonight. As you can see from the collage, we've got some attractive polishes coming up. Don't forget that Polish Pickup is this weekend, and Mary has another beauty up for grabs.

Right on the Nail ~ Polish 'M Fall 2015 Collection Swatches and Reviews Part III

Hi guys, sorry I missed my post yesterday. I've been working in the field a lot for work and I was away from my computer for a bit. If anyone is interested, I've been studying ponds to see if they are affected by herbicide runoff at sod/turf farms. Many people don't even realize that these farms exist! Anyway, tonight I have the next 2 colors from Polish 'M Fall Collection. This is a huge collection!

Sally Hansen Summer 2014 LE Palm Beach Jellies Triple Shine Polish Review, Swatches and Nail Art

Left to right: Water Melon, Jell-ous?, Vitamin D-light, Sea Through (2 coats) over 2 coats Jessica Cosmetics Sharkstooth

Left to right: Ice Tint, Grape Jelly, Ice Tint, Grape Jelly (2 coats) over 2 coats Jessica Cosmetics Sharkstooth

Watercolor Art
*press sample*

I've been putting this post off because I can't really decide my feelings on this collection. My nails are extremely stained, so there was really no way I could show these on their own. If you look at Nouveau Cheap's swatches, even 4 coats isn't enough for coverage. For this reason, I swatched each polish with 2 coats  over a white polish. The first three polishes, Water Melon, Jell-ous?, and Vitamin D-light all look pretty much the same on the nail, with Water Melon being the most opaque. I thought Vitamin D-light would look more orange on the nail, but it seems more pink. The green, Sea Through is also a favorite of mine since it looks nice over white.

The other two polishes, Ice Tint and Grape Jelly are the final 2 in the collection. Despite being blue, Ice Tint was extremely sheer, but still makes a pretty sky blue over white. I had a bit of a problem with Grape Jelly since it would keep streaking over the white. It's strange because I didn't have a problem with any of the other polishes. Nouveau Cheap also tried to use this as a jelly sandwich (jelly polishes with a layer of glitter between them), but this didn't work well. I think these would be best used for those who don't mind sheer color, or those into nail art. I did a watercolor manicure, and if you don't look too close, it actually looks really good. So many people have done this with the OPI Sheer Tints, I don't even know who I got the inspiration from. If you did this before, thank you, you helped me out! I found these just yesterday at Target, and will run you $4.99 each. My recommendations would be Water Melon and Sea Through.

You can find more information on what's going on at Sally Hansen on their Facebook or Twitter pages.

Sally Hansen Magnetic Polishes: Ionic Indigo

Sally Hansen Ionic Indigo (2 coats)

What a sad day. I cannot believe what happened in Connecticut today, and it was such a senseless act. My prayers go out to everyone involved.

Ionic Indigo is a blue indigo magnetic polish that has a lighter blue with darker blue/purple in the design. I don't think I liked this one as much as Electric Emerald based on the fact it lacks that shimmer in it. The magnet and formula was the same as yesterday's post.

Don't forget, you have until 11:59 EST tonight to enter my giveaway for Pedi-Sox!

Julep August Maven Box: Melanie

Julep Melanie (2 coats)

In case you didn't notice, I only have 2 pictures of today's polish instead of the usual 3. I take several photos of each nail shot, but unfortunately, not all of them turned out well this time. Julep Melanie is described as an indigo chrome color, and I can buy that. I actually didn't want to buy this Maven box, but I forgot to unsubscribe in their 4 day time frame. While I like chromes and metallics, they aren't my favorite finishes. With Melanie, I really tried to smooth out any brush strokes, but I wasn't too successful. While I liked the polish, I wasn't in love with it.
