Julep August Maven Box: Melanie


Julep Melanie (2 coats)

In case you didn't notice, I only have 2 pictures of today's polish instead of the usual 3. I take several photos of each nail shot, but unfortunately, not all of them turned out well this time. Julep Melanie is described as an indigo chrome color, and I can buy that. I actually didn't want to buy this Maven box, but I forgot to unsubscribe in their 4 day time frame. While I like chromes and metallics, they aren't my favorite finishes. With Melanie, I really tried to smooth out any brush strokes, but I wasn't too successful. While I liked the polish, I wasn't in love with it.

Pretty hue, but not into how frosty this looks. Often an issue with metallics/chromes alike. Many companies 'brewing' these finishes just call 'em metallic or chrome when really they are frosts. I thought the recent Essie Mirror Metallics were also frost and not what I call metallic.

Your missing the response cut off for the Julep box is in part why I don't like to do any club/membership things. Also, I hate to get stuff that I end up not really needing and feel I have paid too much.
