Noodles Nail Polish June 2018 Polish Pickup: Purple Dragon

*press sample*

Hi guys! I hope you're enjoying your weekend so far. It's Memorial Day weekend, so I'd like to thank all the men and women who gave their lives for our freedom. Tonight I have a new color from Noodles Nail Polish for the June Polish Pickup. This month's theme is video games, and I've been playing since the Atari days. If you haven't heard about Polish Pickup, let me give you a quick recap. First, definitely join the Polish Pickup Facebook Group. You don't necessarily need to actively participate in the group, but it will give you a look into the polishes coming that month. Do you hate it when a new indie box comes out with multiple brands and you only really love one of the colors? What do you do then? Destash the ones you don't want? Just suck it up and buy it and keep them all because you're too lazy to destash? Well, there's now a group and website called Polish Pickup that will open for suggestions for box themes for the upcoming month. Everyone votes, and the winner becomes the theme for a future box. Any indie brand can participate and has their own specific inspiration picture and polish for that month. All you need to do is go to the Polish Pickup site during the pre-order window (the first Friday-Monday of the month) to make all of your purchases of these exclusive polishes. There's no need to pay for multiple shipping charges; since this is a pre-order, all polishes get sent to Polish Pickup and they send you the polishes you ordered. Yup, it's that simple. Oh, and shipping is a flat-rate of $3 to the US (more for Canada and international). Let's get a closer look at this month's offering.

Noodles Nail Polish Purple Dragon (2 coats)

Full disclosure, I never played Spiro, but I'm not sure why! I'm not very good at playing video games, but I hung out and watched my brother play all the time. The only game I ever finished was the first Sonic the Hedgehog game. I think watching my brother play is the reason why I like watching Let's Players on YouTube. Despite not playing Spiro, I did watch Jacksepticeye play Spiro 3 (may be NSFW):

How cute is Spyro?! I completely understand why Natalie chose him for inspiration. Purple Dragon is a cool-toned purple crelly base with purple and gold shimmer, orange and gold flakes, as well as orange and chartreuse metallic glitters. The orange in this reads a little bronzey against the purple base. This one was extremely pigmented and it mostly covered with 1 coat, but I used 2 coats for the swatches. I read on xoxo, Jen (one of the official PPU bloggers this month) that she used some thinner for her bottle, but I did not need to do this. Everyone has their own preferences for formula! It dried with some texture from the glitters, so make sure to use a thicker topcoat to smooth everything out.

And there you have it, yet another gorgeous polish from Noodles Nail Polish! I purchased last month's polish from PPU, and it should be here on Tuesday. This one will be on sale on Friday, June 1st at 11:00 AM ET through 11:59 PM Monday, June 4th. Purple Dragon will retail for $10.50 and does have a cap at 200, so make sure to get your order in early. You can find out more about Noodles Nail Polish on their websiteInstagram pageFacebook page, and Facebook Fan Group while you can learn more about the Polish Pickup on their Facebook page and website.
