Morgan Taylor Summer 2017 Selfie Summer Collection Swatches and Reviews: Part I

*press samples*

Hi guys! I hope you had a great weekend. I went to the Duke Gardens with my family, and it was just gorgeous. I can't believe it was my first time going there! Morgan Taylor just released a new limited-edition 6-piece collection called Selfie Summer which features bright shades to get you looking your best by the pool. I haven't made it to a pool yet this summer, but I have already adorned my toes with some of these gorgeous polishes. Morgan Taylor even sent me a fancy selfie stick to help document my summer. If you've stopped by my social media pages, you'll notice that I'm not really into selfies, but I get it...I still appreciate the sentiment. Shall we get to the swatches?

Morgan Taylor All About the Pout (2 coats)

Up first we have All About the Pout which is a light pink creme with slight coral undertones. It's bright and pale at the same time, which I love. The first coat was a bit streaky, but it was opaque after the second. It applied well, but I'm still not a huge fan of the Morgan Taylor brushes. It reminds me of the brushes on Sally Hansen polishes (i.e. mop-like) and I always have problems getting the curvature of my nail without flooding my cuticles.

Morgan Taylor Best Face Forward (2 coats)

Best Face Forward is such an unexpected polish in the collection! It's a rich purple with blue micro flake shimmer. Perhaps this is my favorite of the collection? I dunno, I'm really digging how the flakes pop! Swatches show 2 easy coats with topcoat (it dries slightly dull so you'll need a topcoat)

Morgan Taylor Me, MySelf-ie, and I (2 coats)

And the last polish I have to show tonight is called Me, MySelf-ie, and I which is a bright neon coral with silver micro flake shimmer. When I saw the bottle, I was expecting this to be my favorite, but the flakes aren't nearly as noticeable in this base. I mean, I still like it, but it could have been even more. This one also dries a bit dull, so make sure to use a good topcoat. Swatches above show 2 coats and topcoat.

What do you think so far? These retail for $9 each and can be found on the Loxa Beauty website now. Don't forget, these are limited-edition, so get them while you still can! Learn more about Morgan Taylor on their Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or Youtube sites.
