Noodles Nail Polish Spring 2020 Collection Swatches and Reviews

*press samples*

Hi guys! How have you been holding up? I've been holding up ok so far. My birthday was last weekend, and I was so sad I wasn't able to be with any family. I can safely say I'll always remember this birthday. Please take care of yourself, and reach out to me if you need anything. Tonight I have the new spring collection from Noodles Nail Polish releasing this Friday, April 24th at 5 PM EST on the Noodles website. All but one polish (Rain Dance which will be $10) will retail for just $9.50. It's a 6-piece crelly set with an additional throwback shade that has been updated for a total of 7. Oh, and did I forget to mention there's a special Mother's Day duo also releasing on Friday with special guest Anchor & Heart Lacquer? No worries, I will be making that a separate post so that this post doesn't get ridiculously long (which I'm sure it will already be, am I right?). Shall we go ahead and get to the beautiful swatches?

Best Techniques for Smoothing Out and Removing Glitter

If you read my posts about Noodles, you'll see this little blurb posted each time. And if you can believe it, I do update this as I find new products I think would be helpful. Noodles Nail Polish are very glitter-heavy polishes, so I thought I'd mention the best techniques to remove glitter. Since they all contain glitter, they will dry with some texture, so I recommend at least 1 coat of topcoat. If you are especially sensitive to feeling your polish, make sure your topcoat is a thick one, or apply a second coat of a thinner one. I recently purchased a topcoat from Dollish Polish that is called Glitter Wrangler and can be used to handle pesky glitter. For the most glitter-dense polishes, I used a coat of Gelous followed by a coat of Glitter Wrangler and had completely smooth finishes. The other product I purchased from Polish Pickup a few months ago was from Esmaltes da Kelly called the Smooth and Shine Duo which had 2 toppers that you put over glitter to smooth it all out. It sold out fairly quickly, so maybe it's something they'll bring back soon.

I also use peel-off basecoats to make removal a breeze. I recommend UNT Ready for Take Off, or Hit the Bottle Keepin' it Peel as they both work well (I am not affiliated with either site or brand...I'm just sharing the love). The UNT works better for my body chemistry as the Hit the Bottle will sometimes pop off during the day. If you want your polish to last a little longer, I completely understand. In that case, the foil method will work best for you when you're ready for a change. Clips like these are cheap and great for keeping the cotton balls in place. I hope this helps, and feel free to email me or leave a comment with any questions you may have.

Noodles Nail Polish Bloom Where Planted (3 coats)

Up first we have Bloom Where Planted which is a pale peach crelly base that leans a little pink with light blue, mint, white, and light pink glitters. I found the base to be extra "milky" in this one which makes the glitters sink a little farther in the background which I found super interesting. It's almost like making your very own crelly sandwich without needing 2 separate polishes if that makes any sense. I used three thin coats for my photos, and the formula was smooth and easy. If you have shorter nails you may be able to get away with 2 coats.

Noodles Nail Polish Flower Market (3 coats)

Up next we have one of my top picks for the collection and that's Flower Market. There's just something about how Natalie does a white crelly that makes it so special. Flower Market is a white crelly base with pink, periwinkle, lavender, and yellow glitters in hexagonal and square shapes. This one just screams spring now doesn't it? I used 3 thin coats for full opacity, and this one does dry with a lot of texture, so look at my recommendations above.

Noodles Nail Polish Morning Dew (2 coats)

Wait, what do we see here? A regular crelly polish from Noodles?! Once in a while, Natalie likes to throw us a curveball in the form of a crelly with such a perfect formula in 2 coats. It just so happens to also fit perfectly with the next polish I'll be showing you. Morning Dew is a medium turquoise crelly with a formula that basically applied itself. This one dried quickly and with no texture obviously. I used a thin topcoat with this one as there isn't any glitter or flakes that needed smoothed out. What a peaceful color and a perfect base for glitter or shimmer toppers.

Noodles Nail Polish Glisten Up (1 coat) over 2 coats of Morning Dew

Glisten Up is obviously another top pick from the collection as it can be used over many different polishes and even mattified which I completely spaced on doing. I'm going to do my best to update this post with some pictures in the very near future (and I'll try to post it to the Noodles Nail Polish Fans Facebook group in case you forget to stop back here). Glisten Up is a clear glitter topper with rainbow iridescent glitters, white matte glitters, and fine silver holo glitters. This one actually dried with less texture than I expected, but I'd still use a thick topcoat if you are sensitive to feeling your nails. I think the bottle shot really showcases the iridescent glitters, don't you think?

Noodles Nail Polish Rain Dance (3 coats) ($10)

You know I love a good flakie, so Rain Dance is a favorite. It's an icy crelly color  (in between light blue and grey) with light blue, mint, white, and light pink glitters and UCC flakes. The flakes really seem to glow in the background, right? This one needed 3 thinner coats for full opacity with an easy formula.

Noodles Nail Polish What in Carnation? (3 coats)

The last new polish from the spring collection is What in Carnation? which is a vibrant purple crelly base with that gorgeous rainbow iridescent glitter and find pink holo glitter. I can't stop staring at the iridescent glitter....it's almost ethereal. It seems to verge on a jelly finish, but I think it's the iridescence that is making it seem that way.

Throwback Release

Noodles Nail Polish Succulent Gardens 2.0 (3 coats) (not an exact match to original)

Unfortunately I don't have the original to compare this to, but hopefully Jodispolish will have it. Natalie wanted to make sure I mentioned that this is not an exact match to the original, so even if you have version 1.0, you may want to get this one, too. If you are in really bright lighting, this one will appear even paler. Succulent Gardens 2.0 is a pale green crelly base with golden green micro flakes, lavender, yellow, and green glitters, and a touch of iridescent glitters. I'm really loving the green and purple combination which is unexpected. I know I say this every time, but Natalie is the queen of color combos.

There you have it, folks. My top recommendations would have to be Flower Market, Glisten Up, Rain Dance, and Succulent Garden. I know we are living in tough times, but every little bit helps for small independent makers. I've been doing my best to make several small purchases from brands just to help a little bit. If you are unable to purchase right now, Natalie usually has her polishes stick around for a few months so you likely have some extra time if you need it. Please be safe and stay at home. 💕You can find out more about Noodles Nail Polish on their websiteInstagram pageFacebook page, and Facebook Fan Group.
