Right on the Nail ~ Jamberry Orchid Bouquet Nail Wraps

Jamberry Orchid Bouquet Nail Wraps

*press sample*

Happy New Year! I stayed in with my family and watched The Interview. That doesn't mean I didn't have to have a fun manicure for the holiday! I know I've had problems with Jamberry Nail Wraps in the past, but I've been flooded with comments and e-mails from Jamberry Consultants concerning my application of the wraps. Apparently since my nails are very curved, I have to take another step in the already slightly tedious process and make tiny notches in each side of the wraps with cuticle cutters. This allows the wrap to fully bend around my curved nail. I think I did a much better job at applying these this time. If you want to see the normal application instructions, you can find them here. To see how I used the "baseball method," you can find that here. I have several more (mostly) floral designs because I'm a huge fan of them, but I'm still letting my weakened nails grow out before using these again. You can get these for $15 that will provide several manicures or pedicures which makes it a good price.

They also have a new monthly Stylebox which costs $25 (you must sign up for 3 months up front) and contains exclusive 2 packs of wraps as well as a nail file, a nail stick and a monthly style guide. Just considering the wraps, you are saving $5 each month. You can stay up-to-date with them, you can follow them on Facebook or Twitter.

Jamberry Spring/Summer 2014 Nail Lacquer Collection Swatches and Reviews: Bashful, Hint of Mint and Sun Kissed

Jamberry Bashful (3 coats)

Jamberry Hint of Mint (3 coats)

Jamberry Sun Kissed (2 coats)

*press samples*

You may be more likely to know Jamberry for their nail wraps, but did you know they also sold polish? They just released another 6 colors to their expanding collection, and I have 3 of them to show you today. Up first is Bashful which is a light pink with lots of pearlescent shimmer. This is a very delicate color and was a bit sheer. I used 3 coats and you can still see some nail line in pictures. In real life, this was not nearly as noticeable.

Next, I have Hint of Mint which is indeed a mint green creme. I love mints, but it's not the most unique of colors. Also, the formula was a bit thin and streaky on the first 2 coats so I ended up with 3 coats.

The last color is Sun Kissed which would be really hot for this summer. It's a red leaning coral that would look great on all skin tones or on the finger or toes. This also had a bit of a thin formula, but it was extremely pigmented so it only needed 2 coats.

These are a bit pricey at $15, but considering their wraps are the same price and a 1 time thing, I think I'd stick with the polishes over the wraps  but aren't over the top by any means. Someone mentioned that there are enough wraps for up to 3 manicures, so technically they're only $5 per mani instead of $15 for one. It's up to you...they have some really cute designs that I could never do on my own. You can find them on FacebookTwitter, or their online store.

Valentine's Day Manicure

Verity Valentine (2 coats) over 2 coats Jamberry Cardinal

Happy Valentine's Day and I hope you are having a happy start to the weekend! I just have a quick manicure to show you. I already posted Jamberry's Cardinal, but I decided to add a polish called Valentine (how appropriate) from a brand called Verity. You may have never heard of Verity because, until recently, I hadn't either. I found it at my local beauty supply store and they all go for $1.50! How could I resist? It has pink hearts with smaller red and silver square and hexagonal glitter. I found it was really easy to get the hearts out, but the dab method was definitely the way to go. Overall, I really liked this manicure, and despite it not being true "nail art," I found it was a whimsical mix for this day. I did a quick Google search of Verity and you can find some polishes, but they seem to go for a bit more money. Check some random beauty supply stores in your area to see if they have them. If not, check them out online at Beauty Clutch. Has anyone used this store? They seem legit and they have good prices.

Jamberry Professional Nail Lacquer Swatches: Kiss and Cardinal

Jamberry Kiss (2 coats)

Jamberry Cardinal (2 coats)

*press samples*

Did you know that Jamberry Nails also makes nail polish now? They have always been known for their nail wraps, but at the end of last year they ventured into the polish world. Today I have 2 of them to show you, just in time for Valentine's Day. Up first is Kiss which is a Barbie pink creme while Cardinal is a deep tomato red creme that dries darker on the nail. Both of these were a bit watery, but I could manage it, and they only needed 2 coats for full opacity. These are a bit pricey at $15, but considering their wraps are the same price and a 1 time thing, I think I'd stick with the polishes over the wraps. You can find them on Facebook, Twitter, or their online store.

Jamberry Nail Wrap: Candy Corn

Jamberry Nails Candy Corn

*press sample*

I love candy corn, and I am a bit of a purist. I don't want any of these other new varieties they have out there (the only exception are Mellowcreme Pumpkins which taste like soft candy corn). The only candy corn I don't like are these Jamberry Nail wraps I have shown above. Like I said yesterday, these things wrinkle like crazy, and I did all I could to get them out to no avail. If you look far away, they don't look terrible as shown from the bottom photo. Maybe others are better at applying these, but they are pretty unusable for me.

Jamberry Nail Wraps: Halloween Words

Jamberry Nails Halloween Words

*press sample*

I'm back from Chicago! Boy was it a lot of work while I was there, so I'm happy to be home. I hope your weekend went well.

Jamberry Nails is a company that sells wraps (and just recently nail polish) that I've never tried before, mostly due to their price point at $15. I've tried a few nail stickers, and these are the thicker kind compared to say Sally Hansen ones (which I love). When I first got these, I was a little surprised with how long the instructions were. You can see them right here. It involves hairdryers and lots of heat and pressure. Overall, I found these wraps were just ok. It was really hard to get all the wrinkles out since they are thick, but luckily the ones I got had Halloween words which hid some of the wrinkles. They have lots of cute designs, but for the application and price, I would just stick with the Sally Hansen ones in my opinion.
