Polish 'M Mardi Gras Trio 2017 Swatches and Reviews

Hi guys! TGIF! It should be a fairly quiet weekend around here now that my food poisoning is all cleared up. We will likely be going to a local nursery for a tour (and to buy lots of plants). Tonight I have the Polish 'M Mardi Gras trio. In case you didn't know, Mardi Gras is this coming Tuesday, but you know everyone is celebrating this weekend. I've never been, but it's something that looks fun and intriguing. Polish 'M has never had Mardi Gras themed polishes before, but this year she has a trio of colors that can be purchased as a trio (for $20) or individually for various prices. I want to first mention that, at the time of this posting, all of the polishes are available in the Polish 'M store with limited quantities. Shall we get to some pictures?

Polish 'M Krewe of Eve (2 coats)

Up first is the creme base for the set called Krewe of Eve. It's a deep eggplant creme that dries with a shiny finish (I still used topcoat for the photos above). Polish 'M calls this a 1-coater, and for most people, this will be true. I always use 2 coats for photos because macro photos show everything. It applied super well and is a great polish.

Polish 'M Show Me Your Boo...Beads (1 coat over Krewe of Eve)

Is it just me or does the name Show Me Your Boo...Beads remind you of something OPI would name a polish? Silly name aside, this topper is jam packed with glitter. It has circle, hexagonal, and square glitter in various Mardi-Gras themed colors. I know glitter toppers aren't for everyone, but if you like them, definitely be sure to check out Polish 'M because she is one of the best in the business. I found it best to dab this one on, but I never had to fish any glitter out.

Polish 'M That Voodoo You Do (4 coats)

Ok, so That Voodoo You Do is supposed to be a holo topper, but I tried to apply it on its own with mixed results. The formula was great, so I was able to apply 4 smooth coats and it mostly covered the nail. Again, photos tend to show visible nail line more than what you'd see in person. I tried applying it over Krewe of Eve, but I thought it was a little too opaque and changed the base color a little too much. Personally, I'd use this over a lighter color for a pop of holo with blue/pink/gold shimmer. It would likely look better if I didn't have slightly yellow nail beds. Oops!

This set is still available for $20 on the Polish 'M website. You can find Polish 'M on their storefrontFacebookInstagram, and Facebook Group pages.
