Noodles Nail Polish Valentine's Day 2021 Trio Swatches and Reviews

 *press samples*

Hi folks! I hope your week is off to a good start! Things have been super busy at work and that keeps me preoccupied. I'm still working out lately and I'm happy to say that I've maintained my weight during the holidays/Covid. I got 3 free months of the new Apple Fitness+ and I've really been enjoying it. The workouts range from 10-45 minutes and there's a wide variety of workouts. I'm still doing Les Mills workouts, too, but I wanted to have more to choose from (plus it's 3 free months so why not). Tonight I have the first of 2 posts from Noodles Nail Polish. Later this week I'll post the whopping 8-piece Winter Collection, but tonight it's all about the love. The Valentine's Day set this year is a trio of polishes with 1 glitter topper and 2 glitter crellies. These will be available this Friday, February 5th at 5 PM EST for $9.50 each on the Noodles Nail Polish website. You know I always post a million photos, so we should get right to it.

Best Techniques for Smoothing Out and Removing Glitter *updated 2/1/21*

Noodles Nail Polish is all about the glitter, all the time. While we all love the bling, it can be a pain to remove. Oh, and it can be known to eat topcoat which leaves texture on the nail after it dries. If you are especially sensitive to feeling your polish, make sure your topcoat is a thick one, or apply a second coat of a thinner one.

Instead of applying 2 coats of thick topcoat, several indie brands have come out with a product that you use after your last coat of polish and before your topcoat. These are generally thick and "fill in" the gaps left from the glitter. Here are several products I use and recommend (in no particular order):

1. Glitter Wrangler from Dollish Polish
2. Glitter Grabber from Glisten and Glow
3. Gelous from American Classics
4. Smooth from Painted Phalanges (dries with a matte finish unlike the others)
5. Smooth and Shine Duo from Esmaltes da Kelly (available through Polish Pickup some months)

I also use peel-off basecoats to make removal a breeze. I recommend UNT Ready for Take Off, or Hit the Bottle Keepin' it Peel as they both work well (I am not affiliated with either site or brand...I'm just sharing the love). The UNT works better for my body chemistry as the Hit the Bottle will sometimes pop off during the day. It seems like the UNT has been harder to find lately, so there's always the Holo Taco one if you really need one. If you want your polish to last a little longer, I completely understand. In that case, the foil method will work best for you when you're ready for a change. Clips like these are cheap and great for keeping the cotton balls in place. I hope this helps, and feel free to email me or leave a comment with any questions you may have.

1 coat of Noodles Nail Polish Amore over Zoya Tiana (3 coats alone on ring finger)

Natalie is the queen of glitter toppers. Oh, and did she happen to throw one in that has the cutest pink heart-shaped glitters? Amore is a clear based topper with different shades of light pink hexagonal glitters and medium pink hearts. I feel like I should have also shown this over a dark base, but I think a different blogger did that. The glitter density is medium and you'll definitely get some bare spots if you wear this one alone. I think this one is best left as just a topper. I didn't have any issues with the hearts sinking and I didn't have to fish around for them. Just in case, put the bottle upside down about 15 minutes before you start your nails.

Noodles Nail Polish Kissing Booth (2 coats)

Don't tell me I'm the only one who's watched both of the Kissing Booth movies on Netflix. Is it a bit cheesy? Sure, but Joey King just seems so endearing. It's one of those movies that was perfect to watch during quarantine (which is exactly what my husband and I did). Sorry, I got a little distracted there. Kissing Booth is a bright magenta crelly base with silver and red glitters, and red metallic microflakes. I honestly didn't expect the red to stand out as much as it did, and I love it! This one was extremely pigmented and fully covered in just 2 thin coats.

Noodles Nail Polish P.S. I Love You (2 coats)

We got a white crelly! Natalie's white crellies are among some of my favorites in my collection. There's just something striking and modern about them on the nail. P.S. I Love You is a white crelly base with neon pink/magenta/silver hexagonal glitters in various sizes. I usually use 3 thin coats for the white crellies, but maybe I was a little more generous with my coats, or the white was a little more opaque on this one, but I was happy with just 2 coats for my swatches. Either way, I saved a few extra minutes on applying and dry time so no complaining from me. This one does dry with lots of texture, so check out my tips above.

This is usually the point I tell you my recommendations, but it's just so hard to pick! I love that each of these are so different, but also stick with the Valentine's Day theme so well. If I must pick one, I guess it would be Kissing Booth because I love pink polishes, and the red glitter is a happy surprise. Don't forget, these will be available this Friday at 5 PM EST. You can find out more about Noodles Nail Polish on their websiteInstagram pageFacebook page, and Facebook Fan Group.
