Hi everyone! I'm just now finally getting around to posting some Zoya polishes, and I have a few more to come because I'm behind. On the bright side, Zoya keeps their polishes around (very few limited editions), so these are still available. The Easy Neons Collection is a 6-piece set of neons that claim to be opaque in 2 coats with no special base coats needed and a streak-free application. Neons are notoriously difficult to apply and photograph, but I didn't have too much of an issue with these. Will these live up to their lofty claims? These are available now on the Zoya website for $12 each.
Formula and Application
Well, I didn't find any of these to be opaque in 2 coats, but they were very easy to apply. These come standard with their new Z-wide brushes and not their skinny brushes which I think will make many happy. My nails are very curved, so the skinny brush actually works better for me. Even with 3-4 coats of these polishes, you can still see my nail line, so I do recommend a white base to make the neons pop and cover the nail line. If you have short nails, you should be good to go without. I recommend thinner coats so you don't get any dragging of the polish. Like all neons, these dried quickly and with a matte finish, so my photos show a glossy topcoat. Time for swatches!
Zoya Banks (4 coats)
Up first we have Banks which is a vivid violet shade with a more jelly-like finish. The is the one polish that isn't really a neon which is a bit weird. I used 4 thin coats for my photos, and it still looks a bit patchy.
Zoya Echo (3 coats)
Up next we have Echo which is a Caribbean blue shade that was mostly opaque in 3 coats. This one isn't your normal neon blue and it was one of my favorites of the collection. I didn't find it streaky and it applied easily.
Zoya Janie (3 coats)
Janie is that classic hot pink neon shade that I just so happen to be wearing on my toes right now. I highly recommend it for a pedicure. I used 3 coats for this one, but you could still see a tiny bit of VNL.
Zoya Link (3 coats)
As a big Zelda fan, I like the homage to the game. Link is a bright slime green shade. It had a bit more of a jelly finish like Banks which is why you see more VNL with this one.
Zoya Oakley (3 coats)
Oakley is easily my #1 top pick from the collection. There's nothing like a good highlighter orange for a neon collection. Oakley is a fiery orange neon that was mostly opaque in 3 coats.
Zoya Zelda (3 coats)
You can't have Link without Zelda, right? Zelda is a neon coral jelly that had that same formula that needed 3 coats.
There you have it, folks! My top picks would have to be Oakley and Echo, and despite not being 2-coaters, I'm still pretty happy with how these turned out. The visible nail line is less noticeable in person than in my photos due to the bright lighting needed for photography. Zoya polishes retail for $12 and you can find out more about them on their website, Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram pages. Keep an eye out for them in your local Ulta store if you want to see the bottles in person before you buy. They often have sales, so check their social media pages periodically.
