Milani Rockstar Heavy Glitter Collection: Gems

Milani Gems (1 coat) over Revlon Cloud (2 coats)

I know, I feel like I haven't been posting enough lately, but I have just been so busy and depressed  lately. I hope you can understand. :-(

On the bright side I finally found the Milani Gems polish at CVS! I found a lone bottle sitting isles away from the display so I was quite lucky to get it. It is extremely similar to Deborah Lippmann's Happy Birthday glitter polish, but the most appreciable difference is that Gems does not contain pink glitter and Happy Birthday does. Some people on the Nail Board from Makeup Alley mentioned that the bottles bought through the Cherry Culture store now have pink glitter in them. Hooray, we almost have a dupe! The only other difference is that the smaller glitter is only hexagonal in Gems and Happy Birthday has square glitter. I would definitely just pick up the Milani polish because the Lippmann polish will run  you ~$18 online. Yikes! I was also really impressed with how dense the glitter is because what is shown is 1 coat. Overall, I love this glitter!

Milani Tailor Made

Milani Tailor Made (3 coats)

Glee is back on tonight! Who watched it? I just finished it! This is the last polish I have from the Milani Haute Value polish collection. While I was getting Dress Maker I figured, why not get 2? I know, I just can't help myself! You know I love cornflower blue polishes and I love shimmers, so why don't I absolutely love Tailor Made? Well, it is really sheer. This was three generous coats and it still has bald spots. Grrr. The application was similar to Dress Maker and was watery. Also, you really need to be careful of brush strokes with this one. Overall, I love the color and the shimmer finish, but the application and formula have some issues. Again, I found these at CVS and I believe they were $4.99 each (please correct me if I'm wrong).

Milani Dress Maker (Chanel Jade Dupe)

Milani Dress Maker (3 coats)

So we lost at trivia again. Blarg. I think I should just stop mentioning our losing and start letting you guys assume it. I'm a big fan of dupes...when they are dupes of really really expensive and hard to find Chanel polishes like Milani Dress Maker is. It is a dupe for the polish Jade which is a mint green polish with green shimmer. Is this a better dupe than Dream Catcher from Claire's or the Charlotte Russe dupe? I have no idea because I don't own Chanel's Jade (nor will I ever likely own it). While I love mint greens, I'm eventually going to get burnt out on them. Until then, lets just enjoy this while we can. Now the application leaves much to be desired because it is really sheer and watery. This is a very thick three coats and it just finally covered the nail line. I found this at a 24 hour CVS but it took me a few to finally find it. What do you guys think? Love it or are you getting sick of mints?

Milani 3D Holographic Collection: Cyberspace

Milani Cyberspace (3 coats)

Again, what a beautiful holo! This time Cyberspace is up and it is a great light blue holographic polish from Milani. As you can see, the holo goodness is chunkier than some other companies (for example, the OMG collection from China Glaze), but there was no grittiness with this one with a topcoat. Application was great and needed a full 3 coats to be opaque. I am really regretting not getting High-Res (the purple one).

Milani 3D Holographic Collection: Hi-Tech

Milani 3D Holographic Hi-Tech (3 coats)

SQUEEEEE! It's a holo! It's a GREEN holo! I'm sure most of you have seen swatches of these already, but I have 2 of the Milani 3D Holographic Collection polishes for you. Since I post every night, this one will be my Happy St. Patrick's Day!! post. Because of this, today's polish is a green one. Hi-Tech is a green holographic polish that is closer to a lime green color. Most of the time holos stand out more in natural in sunlight, but with these, the holo finish is really accentuated in artificial light. In the bottle these don't look like much, but on the nail, whoa! This one is a definite must-buy. Application was great and it was opaque in 3 coats.
