Right on the Nail ~ Zoya 2015 Naturel Satins Collection Swatches and Reviews: Part II

Today I have Part II of the Zoya Naturel Satins collection. Please refer to Part I for my thoughts on the collection as a whole with formula and application issues.

Zoya Ana (2 coats)

Ana is another nude satin with some pink undertones. 

Zoya Rowan (2 coats)

Rowan is another nudish color that is a darker taupe satin. 

Zoya Tove (2 coats)

Tove must be named after the music artist Tove Lo that has the popular single "Habits." This is my favorite color of the collection and is a dusty soft blue satin. I think this would look lovely on lots of skintones.

So that's it. What do you think? My favorites are the more colorful polishes Tove and Sage. I would also recommend one of the more "nude" colors, but I'd pick something that fits your skintone best. You can find these and other Zoya polishes at your local Ulta store, salon, or zoya.com for $9.

Right on the Nail ~ Zoya 2015 Naturel Satins Collection Swatches and Review: Part I

Tonight I finally have some of the Zoya Naturel Satins collection which is the transitional collection of 6 polishes between winter and spring. This year the colors are more varied, but still quite muted. To start it off, I just want want to say that these are not my favorite polishes, nor are they my least favorite. I thought I was going to love them more than I do, but I just can't get past the formula and application to give them my full approval. All of the polishes only needed 2 coats, but on the second coat, you really need to make sure that you use more polish than you think you'll need because it will get uneven and streaky. You'll be able to see this in my pictures. I also had a problem with them fully drying. I got lots of little dents throughout the day, but a friend of mine had no problems at all (and she really loved these). I guess it really just depends on body chemistry. The finish is definitely satin, which is to say that there is a bit of shine, but not as much as a regular polish (it sort of looks like semi-gloss paint). 

Zoya Brittany (2 coats)

Brittany is a soft pink/ mauve color. 

Zoya Leah (2 coats)

Leah is an interesting color. In some lights it looks more purple and in others it appears more grey.

Zoya Sage (2 coats)

Sage is, well, sage green. As you can tell, this is darker than the others and was one of my favorites of the collection.

Julep Shelly (2 coats)

I know, I haven't posted the Zoya polishes yet, but I will be finishing the Satin and Spring collections tonight, so I promise they are coming. Tonight I have one of the polishes from the It Girl Welcome Box called Shelly. It's a robin's egg blue creme that is very pretty, but I had a little problem with the application. It was a bit thick, but was still opaque in just 2 coats. So yes, my Maven subscription is back, and I'm already behind on swatching...you know how I am.

Rainbow Honey Dirty Martini (3 coats)

Sorry for the lack of post yesterday! I had to do some errands after work so I just ran out of time. And I watched The Bachelor *hangs head in shame*. Have I mentioned how much I love the new bottles and larger mini sizes in the Rainbow Honey Bags? Yes? Well, it's worth mentioning again. Tonight I have Dirty Martini which is a mint green crelly with brown glitter and blue microshimmer. For real, why isn't this called Mint Chocolate Chip? I guess I'm missing something about a Dirty Martini. Anyway, this was a bit sheer, needing 3 coats, but it is so worth it. I love that the brown glitter is small and all the same size. And the blue microshimmer?! Beautiful. If you can get this, definitely pick it up. 

Right on the Nail ~ OPI Halloween 2014 Peanuts Collection Swatches and Review: To Be or Not to Beagle

OPI To Be or Not to Beagle (2 coats) over 3 coats Good Grief!

Oh man, it's another Sunday night. Moar weekend, please. Are you watching the Superbowl? Weirdly I'm not, but we're really not into the teams this year.

Anyway, tonight I have the first of 2 glitters called To Be or Not to Beagle which is a multi-color glitter polish with tons of black hexagonal and bar glitter. The bar glitter may turn some people off, but it's not the prominent glitter in the mix. I think this is a really fun and charming little polish. The glitter is pretty dense-I used 2 coats, but it was because of the mini OPI brush.
