Polish & Co. Holiday 2013 Collection Swatches: Are You Kidding Me? and Seven Figure Rich

Polish & Co. Are You Kidding Me? (2 coats)

Polish & Co. Seven Figure Rich (2 coats)

*press samples*

You know the holidays are coming when I'm posting red and green polishes left and right. Polish & Co. is a new company to me, which is weird because they are based out of Greensboro, NC and I live right down the road.Weird. Anyway, they released 7 new polishes for this holiday season and I have 2 of them to show you. Up first is Are You Kidding Me? which is a red shimmer with lots of pink tones. It's definitely different than the bright red cremes and glitters you see this time of year and I like that it had that pink hue. Application and formula for a new brand is always important, and I'm happy to report that both polishes were smooth and very pigmented. Yay! The bottles are similar to the old Massini or Super Black Lacquers, but these hold the usual 0.5 fl oz.

Seven Figure Rich is a deep "money green" creme color that dries to a satin finish, but I forgot and put topcoat over it. Sorry! I really wanted to do this nail art with the snowman and it was easier to do with the topcoat. Isn't this a great green color? It has a bit of a dustiness that makes me love it even more. Out of the 2, I'd recommend Seven Figure Rich more, but that's because I'm nontraditional. Oh, and if you put any sort of nail art on your nails, you can really see people following your hands like crazy trying to figure out what you've got on your nail. I got tons of compliments on this one.

Polish & Co. is a 3-free company and polishes retail for $12 on their website, which is a bit steep. If you go to their Facebook page, you can see that they sometimes have some sales though. Since they are a hometown company, I plan on picking some more of these up in the near future.

Sally Hansen Triple Shine Collection Swatch: Lemon Shark

Sally Hansen Lemon Shark (3 coats)

*press sample*

Ok, I'll admit it, I mostly got this polish because it's called Lemon Shark and Lemon Sharks are my favorite kind of shark (screw you Great White!). Want to learn more about lemon sharks? Go here. Oh, and good news on the giveaway; only 6 more people are needed for GFC before it can begin. Thanks to those who have signed up!

Anyway, I'm sure you're all, "Audrey, we get it, just get on to the polish" and I just happen to have the last Sally Hansen polish to show you. I was a bit mean when I asked for Lemon Shark knowing how difficult yellow polishes can be. Well, Lemon Shark lived up to my expectation of being streaky on the first 2 coats, then finally evening out on the third. The top photo is the most realistic to what it looks like in real life. If you don't have many yellows, Lemon Shark would be a fine addition; just realize that the application is unsurprisingly bad.

Sally Hansen Holiday 2013 Bling in the New Year Collection Swatch: 3, 2, 1derland

Sally Hansen 3, 2, 1derland (2 coats) over 2 coats Wavy Blue

*press sample*

Perfect timing showing you what Wavy Blue can look like as a base color. 3, 2, 1derland is a glitter topcoat with 2 sizes of blue and green hexagonal glitter in a clear base. I like this, but unfortunately the blue gets a little lost in the background in the photos that didn't happen in real life. It reminds me a little of mermaid scales, right? The formula was the exact same as Fa La La Lavender and needed 2 coats to get good glitter payoff. I like this one enough, but I think I like Fa La La Lavender better. I guess this reminds me of all the blue/green polishes that came out a few years ago (Zoya's Charla, etc...) which is why I wish they added just 1 other color to this. It's still a nice glitter, but I'd still wait for a sale to buy it.

Sally Hansen Triple Shine Collection Swatch: Wavy Blue

Sally Hansen Wavy Blue (2 coats)

Wavy Blue is the second Triple Shine polish I have to show, and it's easily my favorite. In the bottle, it looks like a duochrome of blue and purple, but I saw no shift on the nail, unfortunately. Nonetheless, it is a beautiful blue shimmer that I'd recommend to you. It also was the only polish that needed 2 coats instead of 3 and went on smoothly. I forgot to mention this before, but the bottle only holds 0.33 fl oz instead of the usual polish size of 0.5 fl oz. The price is really going to depend on where you buy it, but keep that into consideration when purchasing. Wavy Blue is one of those polishes that is worth it, in my humble opinion.
