Morgan Taylor Fall 2014 Enchantment Collection Swatches and Review Part 1

Morgan Taylor Hocus Pocus (2 coats)

Hocus Pocus looks almost blue upon first glance, but it's actually a really light, dusty mint green creme. This was the one I was most excited about and I am not disappointed! The formula was very slightly thin which made work around the cuticle a little hard, but otherwise it was fine. 

Morgan Taylor I'm the Good Witch (2 coats)

I watched The Wizard of Oz every Sunday morning when I grew up, so I instantly thought of Glinda upon seeing the color and name. I'm the Good Witch is a deep rose glitter in a reddish brown base with some holographic glitter. I always think these kinds of polishes won't cover well, but Morgan Taylor is one of the best companies to make extremely opaque glitters that only need 2 coats and perfect application.

And now we get to Magician's Assistant which was the biggest disappointment of the collection for me. It's a light pink/mauve with light purple/pink shimmer. Well, the shimmer is quite prominent in the bottle, so I thought it would translate well on the nail. Of course I was wrong since it is my least favorite. On the bright side, it had full coverage in only 2 coats (I was expecting 3). 

So far so good with the collection. I think you'll be happy with the next 3 polishes as well. I'm happy to report that you can now buy Morgan Taylor polishes online without a license from Loxa Beauty for $8.50 each. You can keep up with Morgan Taylor on their Facebook and Twitter pages as well.

Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Polish Review and Swatch: Style Maker

Are you interested in 47 new polishes from Sally Hansen? Not only do they not need a basecoat (I used one anyway), but the gel topcoat will provide up to 14 days of chip-free polish without the need for a UV or LED lamp. Oh, and it comes off just like regular polish so no foil here. They run $9.99 each which is a bit steep, but other gel polishes are often smaller and more expensive. You can also purchase a polish duo with the gel topcoat and a color for $14.99 which is a much better deal. 

So, how well does it work? I have no idea because I ended up putting a glitter on top of this so I didn't get to test the wear yet. I have several more, so don't worry, I'll get to a full review. Tonight I have Style Maker which is a green shimmer that was a bit patchy on the ends of the nails after 2 coats. Otherwise, I had no application or formula issues. You can find these at all of your local drugstores such as Walgreens, CVS, Walmart, Target, etc.

LynBDesigns Indie Brand "Nightmare Begins" Collection Swatch and Review: Poisoned Soup

Alert! If you like the Poisoned Soup polish based on the movie The Nightmare Before Christmas, you better get it now because it's on the Limited Edition/Retirement Home section in the LynBDesigns Etsy Store. It's an interesting mix of green, gold, yellow, and silver glitter suspended in a chartreuse base. While I like this color, it's not my favorite of what I bought. It needed 3 coats for full coverage, and you better use the foil method to take this baby off. 

I still have 2 polishes that haven't been swatched, but I don't think they are limited edition, so you might have to wait a bit. Sorry! 

LynBDesigns Indie Brand "Nemo? That's a Nice Name" Collection Swatch and Review: P. Sherman 42 Wallaby Way

Quick post tonight because it's getting late, and I haven't even left work yet! The second to last LynBDesigns polish I have is a neon green jelly base with gold hexes and black circles, stars and shards. Very unique indeed. Since this has more of a jelly finish, it needed a full 3 coats for full coverage with some emphasis on the ends where glitter tends to pull up. Nonetheless, I received several compliments on my unique nails that day.

As I continue to finish up some fall collections, I have a couple more LynBDesigns polishes to show you. Since the new Doctor debuted a few weeks ago, I feel it's fitting to show a Doctor Who inspired polish. Tonight is the reformulated version of Sonic Screwdriver (I have no idea what it looked like before) which is a metallic silver base with lots of silver and aqua blue glitter. I like it because the base is opaque and you can still see the glitter in there. The application and formula was great yet again. I hope you had a great weekend!
