Do you like mysteries? If so, I think you'd like him! He doesn't write a lot of "filler" information in his books which I like. If you're not sure if you'd like him you can always go to a used bookstore to see if they have any so you don't have to pay full price.
I'll just hit the Library! I love Patricia Cornwell. Have you read Colleen McCullough's Rome series? I am just in awe of that series. She put massive research into them. Before she was an author she taught neurophysiology at Yale.
