Right on the Nail ~ Great Lakes Lacquer Limited Editions for June 2016 Swatches and Reviews

*purchased with a blogger discount*

Hi guys! I hope you're having a good Memorial Day today if you're in the US. This weekend is the Raleigh Pen show so I'll be working that for 3 days. Hopefully I'll be able to work ahead on swatches and posts so it won't affect the blog. Tonight I have the 3 limited edition polishes that will be released on June 1st at 3:00 PM EST in the Great Lakes Lacquer Etsy shop page and will be available through July 2nd at 2:00 PM EST. The polishes are loosely based on the latest Pantone's Colors of the Year, which are Rose Quartz and Serenity (click the link to see what those look like). Yup, this year there are 2! Follow me after the break to see what Mariah cooked up for us this month!

Great Lakes Lacquer A Place Where I Can Hide (2 coats)

You know I love my pink polishes, so I was immediately drawn to A Place Where I Can Hide. It is a cool-toned pink with subtle pink, copper, and holographic shimmer. I think this one would be perfect for someone who is new to indie brands, or someone who doesn't like ostentatious polishes. I mean, it is pink and it has shimmer, so what's there not to like? I got away with 2 thicker coats for my swatches, but if you're prone to really thin coats, you may end up needing 3 easy ones.

Great Lakes Lacquer I Need Serenity (2 coats)

We ended up with 2 "Serenity" polishes, with the first being I Need Serenity which is a blue-leaning periwinkle base with pink and copper shimmer. I think my photos are pretty accurate in showing how evident the shimmer is in real life. It's not in-your-face, and it's not so subtle that it may as well not be there. This one is strikingly beautiful, and I received several compliments while wearing it. The formula was fantastic, and I believe everyone should be able to get away with 2 coats for full coverage. And is the name a Godsmack reference?

Great Lakes Lacquer Taste the Serenity (2 coats)

If you love a good holographic polish, then you'll love Taste the Serenity. It's a linear holo, but it has a soft feeling if you know what I mean. Anyway, it's a very light periwinkle blue with copper shimmer and that holo finish. Hopefully you can see the copper shimmer in the last photo. I used direct LED daylight light to show this polish because of the holographic shimmer. If you're just hanging around inside all day you'll see mostly a silvery copper finish.

What do you think? I love them all and cannot decide on a favorite! Again, these will be released this Wednesday at 3:00 PM EST, so set a timer. The two shimmers will retail for $9 each, and Taste the Serenity will be $10. Make sure to check out what Mariah is up to on her EtsyFacebook, and Instagram pages as well.

*These polishes were provided by the brand at a discounted price. All reviews are based solely on my opinion. For more information, please see my full disclosure at the bottom of the site*
