Pacifica 7-Free Nail Polish in Red Red Wine

Pacifica Red Red Wine (2 coats)

*press sample*

Technically this can be a press sample or not. My very first Ipsy bag came this past month, and I just so happened to get this same exact polish. My luck, right? Perhaps if I reach my 500 Instagram follower and 900 Twitter follower goal, I will have another fairly large giveaway *wink wink, nudge nudge).

Anyway, Red Red Wine is indeed a deep merlot wine red color that is sort of between a creme and a jelly. There was definitely some squishiness to it. I had the hardest time applying this color for some reason; it didn't want to flow right around my cuticles. Perhaps I didn't have a steady hand that day, so who knows. It was still extremely opaque in just 2 coats. So this is it for my Pacifica swatches. What do you think? Will you be purchasing any colors? I really like what the brand stands for, so there's definitely a chance I'll get a few more. Hopefully they will be coming out with more colors as time goes on. Right now, if you purchase any nail color, you get half off their topcoat so check that out.

Pacifica 7-Free Nail Polish in Drift

Pacifica Drift (2 coats)

*press sample*

So we just bought a new tv and we're putting it together right now. Quick post!! In the second of the 3-post series we have Drift from Pacifica, which is a taupe/greige creme. This isn't the most unique color, but I think every brand should have a nice neutral color for every day wear. Despite it being a common color, it still had a flawless application and formula, but I'm sure you can find a cheaper alternative.

Pacifica 7-Free Nail Polish in Pool Party

Pacific Pool Party (2 coats)
*press sample*

Did you know that the brand Pacifica, best known for their scents and lotions, now has makeup and polish? I didn't know until another blog posted a few polishes a few weeks ago. Many brands are talking about being 5-free, but Pacifica has to one-up them with a 7-FREE formula without parabens, phthalates, toluene, xylene, camphor, formaldehyde, resin, and animals. Whew, that's a lot of items! I was sent 3 polishes to test with the first being Pool Party which is a dusty medium blue creme. Yup, I love it. And my favorite part of trying a brand new brand? The application and formula, of course. I'm extremely happy to report that all 3 polishes I tried were absolutely perfect. It was just the right thinness, as well as having full opacity in 2 coats. The bottles will run you $9 for a 0.45 fl. oz. bottle which is the usual price point for a brand like this. I'm so mad at myself for not showing the bottle top because it has a nautilus design all over it. I love nautili!

Pacifica Body Butters Review

Pacifica Body Butters

*press samples, except for Waikiki Pikake which I purchased*

I get asked a lot about what I do to make my cuticles look nice and not get hangnails. My secret? I just put body butter or lotion on my hands. Yup, no cuticle oils or anything special for this gal. I've used Solar Oil and China Glaze Peppermint Cuticle oil, etc., but they end up making my cuticles feel dry. I bought Pacifica body butters before I received Hawaiian Ruby Guava and Tuscan Blood Orange to review, so I've been a fan of Pacifica for awhile now. I love what they stand for and how their products are vegan and have no:

Animal testing, animal ingredients, FD&C color, phthalates, parabens, sulfates, propylene glycol, benzene, mineral oil, petroleum, peanut oil, triclosan, and other ingredients you do not want on your skin.

I also love how the scents are reminiscent of what they're called, but there is a complexity to make them more than just one notes. If you not a fan of greasy lotions, these may not be for you. Being a scientist, I wash my hands all day and night. I need something really intense to keep me from getting cracked nails and skin. Now that fall is coming, this may be something you want to pick up from your local Target store or the Pacifica website. The larger sized body butter will set you back $15 for an 8 oz tube, but will last forever, but you can also get smaller versions at 2.5 oz and they are $7. They have a lot of scents, so you may want to purchase the smaller ones first. The three I have shown above I really love, and I want to try the Tahitian Gardenia next. The 2.5 oz will probably last a little while and would make great stocking stuffers.

I also love their new skincare line (I purchased all this on my own), especially the Sea Foam Complete Face Wash and the Dreamy Youth Day & Night Face Cream. The BB Cream was a bit too shiny for my face and wouldn't really recommend that for oily or combination skin.

You can find Pacifica on Twitter or on Facebook to learn more.
