Hello hello! I can't believe it's October already! I just got home from work in Dallas this past weekend. Thankfully it's the last travel I'll need to do for the rest of the year. While I love traveling, it's so hard with our animals getting older. Is it getting cooler in your neck of the woods? We had a cold spell last week, but it's back into the 80s this week. Oh, and it was still in the mid-90s in Dallas, of course. 

I am extremely excited for Polish Pickup this month. As someone born in the 80s and grew up in the 90s, grunge is in my DNA. I have a feeling my cart is going to be pretty full this month. The shop officially opens at 11:00 AM ET Friday, October 6th and ends on Monday, October 9th at 11:59 PM (but if a polish has a bottle limit and sells out before the end of the pre-order, it's gone, unless you get lucky and the cap gets raised...which is rare) on the PPU website.

I listened to Alanis Morissette's You Oughta Know so many times and watched the video on MTV. Can you believe the song is about Uncle Joey from Full House?! And with those lyrics! I love it. You Oughta Know the polish is a deep wine base (crelly leaning jelly) with holo and metallic black/red/silver and fine holo flakes. It really has that squishy look and the glitters really stand out. The polish is quite glitter dense, so it will dry with texture, so make sure to bust out that glitter smoothing topcoat to get that flawless finish.

Zoya Fall 2017 Sophisticates Collection Swatches and Reviews Part IV

Hi guys! I was so saddened to wake up to the news of Las Vegas. I would love to live in a world where it surprises me again. On a much lighter note, we'll be finishing up the Zoya Sophisticates collection. Just today I received the press info for their winter Party Girl Collection:

I see some really interesting polishes if you ask me. Also, didn't Zoya used to have 6 polishes in their winter collections? I'm not complaining! Shall we finish this collection first? 

Right on the Nail ~ Sally Hansen 2015 Velvet Texture Collection Swatches and Review: Lavish

I know, I've been posting the Velvet Texture polishes slowly since early 2015. Every time I stop at Ulta or Walgreens, I can't stop myself from picking another one up. Tonight I have one of my favorite colors called Lavish which is a deep wine color. I say this is one of my favorites due to the fact that it actually dried in a decent amount of time and the texture really stands out. These are supposed to come out this month (according to my Sally Hansen representative), but I know some of you have found these as early as November. Have you seen them?

Technically this can be a press sample or not. My very first Ipsy bag came this past month, and I just so happened to get this same exact polish. My luck, right? Perhaps if I reach my 500 Instagram follower and 900 Twitter follower goal, I will have another fairly large giveaway *wink wink, nudge nudge).

Anyway, Red Red Wine is indeed a deep merlot wine red color that is sort of between a creme and a jelly. There was definitely some squishiness to it. I had the hardest time applying this color for some reason; it didn't want to flow right around my cuticles. Perhaps I didn't have a steady hand that day, so who knows. It was still extremely opaque in just 2 coats. So this is it for my Pacifica swatches. What do you think? Will you be purchasing any colors? I really like what the brand stands for, so there's definitely a chance I'll get a few more. Hopefully they will be coming out with more colors as time goes on. Jessica Cosmetics Fall 2012 Spicy Dream Collection: Crimson Tattoo

Yes, fall collections are all around us. I haven't bought too many yet, but I'm sure things will change once the weather decides to cool down. This hasn't stopped me from buying candy corn already though-oops! 

Jessica Cosmetics has released a fall collection called Spicy Dream which is a pretty terrible name if you ask me. Despite the name, it is full of fall goodness. Up first is Crimson Tattoo which is dark vampy red jelly. With the first coat, you can easily see the red in it, but the second really blackens it up. I like it, but I wish it were a little lighter-colors this dark make it hard to capture on my camera. The formula was a little thick, but fine otherwise.

Diamond Cosmetics It's Nothing to Wine About (2 coats)

Ah, I love cute little names for nail polishes. Case in point, It's Nothing to Wine About from Diamond Cosmetics. This is the last installment from the collection, and I hope you've enjoyed it. It has some high and low points, but it's overall a pretty good collection. It's Nothing to Wine About it is a wine-colored jelly and I can see lots of people enjoying this one, despite it not being too unique. I do like this one, despite my dislike for most jellies. The application and formula was great with 2 coats. I am currently working on the OPI Burlesque swatches, so I hope to start those next week. I hope your weekend went well!

Orly Thorned Rose (2 coats)

Thorned Rose comes from Orly's Spring Bloom Collection which is out now. It is a vampy raspberry wine creme that has a really shiny finish. As you can see from the picture, it dries a bit darker on the nail, but never appears black. Application was great for a creme and only needed 2 coats to be opaque. You can find these online or at your nearest Sally Beauty Supply. Some people are not fans of the Orly bottle, but I really like the rubberized grip. If you don't like it, what specifically don't you like?

I finally have some polishes from the OPI Hong Kong collection to start blogging. I'm not 100% I will get to it tomorrow, but it will definitely be this week. Happy Valentine's Day and I hope everyone is enjoying the Olympics like I am :)
