Contrary Polish Playing With Fire Collection Swatches and Reviews: Flames and Sparks

Hi guys! TGIF! It's supposed to be nice this weekend, so my husband and I are planning on getting some plants at this really nice commercial nursery that is open to the public only a handful of weekends. Other than that, I plan on seeing the Avengers (I haven't been spoiled yet) and take a couple naps. What are your plans? Tonight I have 2 polishes from the Contrary Polish Playing With Fire Collection. Carrie is the queen of shimmers, and you guys know how I feel about shimmers. Well, shimmers and flakies. Hit that button to see more.

Contrary Polish Flames (3 coats)

Up first is the fiery polish aptly named Flames which is a red jelly base with copper and red flakes. Since it's a jelly, it was a bit sheer, but built up well in 3 coats. I bought the mini bottles so I could buy more bottles, but that means the pictures look a little weird. It's so hard doing my usual hand poses with a small bottle! It dried with a little texture, and was pretty easy to remove. Very striking color!

Contrary Polish Sparks (3 coats)

Up next is Sparks which is an ivory crelly base with holographic gold glitter and gold flakes. I really love the ivory and gold combination here! Some of the flakes have a bit of a green tinge to it, which adds a nice effect as well. I used 3 coats here, but you may be able to get away with 2, depending on your application style. It dried with a bit of texture, and you may want to use a peel-off basecoat or the foil method for easier removal. It's totally worth it!

I'm a big fan of Contrary Polish! Carrie has been really knocking it out of the park in the Polish Pickup as well, and I couldn't be happier. The Playing With Fire Collection is available in both mini and full-sized bottles on the Contrary Polish website.
