CQ polish in Deep Blue Sea

Hi everyone! I hope your weekend is off a good start. We looked at a few more houses today and they were all big flops. I think those are the last we will be able to see before I leave for Cambodia. Some day we will get a house! 

The next CQ polish I have for you is called Deep Blue Sea which is a very dark blue shimmer. Despite being really dark, you will not mistake this one for black which I enjoy. Not to be a Debbie Downer, but I've done lots of work out in remote areas of the deep blue sea, and it didn't really look like this. Oh well, it's still really pretty. The application and formula was great, like most of the CQ polishes I've used.

CQ Polish in Vintage Gray

CQ Vintage Gray (2 coats)

Oh man, I'm starving. I was just one of those days where there was no time to eat. I did, however, have a small container of lemon Italian Ice which was amazing. It's been so long since I had one and it brought back memories. Fisher Scientific had a little expo on campus today and they were nice enough to bring snacks...oh and molecular grade water I can use for my qPCR reactions! 

CQ is a brand you can find at most Walmart and Rite Aide stores, but if you don't have one nearby, you can also get them on their website with free shipping. Vintage Gray is a light gray taupe color that has made the rounds the last few years. It's not unique at all, but if you somehow don't have something like this already, I would recommend Vintage Gray. It had a great formula and application in 2 coats, and I think the bottle is fun and interesting.

CQ Nail Polish: Golden Green

I don't know if I've mentioned it recently, but I've been working on a website for my new lab. My good friend was kind enough to go through Adobe Dreamweaver and CSS with me, so I have all these grand ideas for the blog. For now, I'm working on a professional website, but I hope to incorporate what I've learned towards the blog. 

Remember how I tried my first CQ polish a few weeks ago? Well, I ended up getting two, and boy is it a beauty! Golden Green is an olive green polish with a bit of a golden sheen to it. For some reason it reminds me of something that BB Couture would do (they have such awesome greens). For a drugstore brand (and the inexpensive price), I was impressed with the formula and the brush. The bottle shape doesn't blow me away, but it is definitely better than bottles such as Nicole. I know some of you love the Nicole bottles, but I just can't get into them. I have to admit that I am extremely impressed with CQ polishes and I would definitely buy more of them. Again, you can only find them at Rite Aid and Walmart stores.

CQ Nail Polish: Rustic Dream

CQ Rustic Dream (3 coats)

This is actually my first time trying out CQ polishes, and I'm really impressed with it! Who doesn't like a good duochrome? I feel that duochromes are really lacking from drugstore brands and I'm happy that CQ went out on a limb with this beautiful polish. Rustic Dream is a reddish bronze polish with flashes of gold. It sort of feels like a fall polish, but I tend to ignore seasonal trends and will wear it whenever. The application was pretty good, but it was fairly sheer. I would definitely try some more CQ polishes! As far as I know, you can only find them at select Walmart and Rite Aid stores which is pretty disappointing. Hopefully they will start to expand their line into more stores, but that remains to be seen.
