Happy Saturday! I spent a little time at Ulta today and found the flaky polishes from Zoya. My Ulta is pretty spotty with Zoya collections, so I was surprised they had it. Of course I just had to pick up Chloe! They also didn't have the Layla holo polishes which I was really looking for. 

Anyway, I have a couple of polishes from the Essie Navigate Her collection that I'm loving. Up first is Tour de Finance (love the name) and it is a gorgeous bright blue-based pink with a purple shimmer flash. Despite being from a spring collection, I can see this one on toes and fingers through the summer.I have nothing bad to say about this one because it is just lovely.

Happy Good Friday! Easter is my favorite holiday, so this weekend should be pretty good. Do you have any fun plans?

When I made a haul a month ago, I really wanted to buy Navigate Her, but unfortunately it was sold out at the time. Instead of not getting an Essie green, I decided to pick up Da Bush instead. I know it's old news, but I didn't have it, and it looked pretty. It's a really dusty green creme color that apparently really looks similar to OPI Stranger Tides, so if you have that one, you may not necessarily need Da Bush (by the way, I hate the name). The application and formula was flawless as well so color me impressed. 

Oh, and I still need to buy Navigate Her :-( 

China Glaze Spring 2012 Electropop Collection: Sunshine Pop

Wow, we have a bright one today, everyone! I finally have a few swatches of the China Glaze Electropop Collection to show you starting off with Sunshine Pop. It's a taxi-cab yellow color with sort of a shimmer/frosty finish. It's really a weird polish and I'm honestly not sure how I feel about it. I usually go for more of a highlighter yellow color for my nails. Being a yellow, it had some application issues. It was thick and hard to work with, and the frostiness to it added some fine streaks in there. And boy, did it take a long time to dry! Overall, unless you really love yellows, you may want to hold off on this one. 

Jessica Cosmetics Spring 2012 Heavy Petal Collection: Dazed Dahlia

It's only Tuesday?! I've been extremely busy at work so I've hardly had the time to blog. Sorry! I'd like to say that things are going to settle down soon, but my trip to Cambodia begins May 15, so I don't see things slowing down. No worries, I'll struggle through it and will keep posting my pretties until I leave. 

I like to think I know a bit about flowers and horticulture, but I had no idea what a Dahlia looked like. Oops! When I Google Imaged it, I found it's a very beautiful flower. The colors seemed to range a bit, but several are this nice berry color you see above. While Dazed Dahlia isn't groundbreaking in the color department, it will still make a nice pedi color for the summer, don't you think? The application was amazing and barely needed the 2 coats I gave it. 

Overall, the collection was pretty nice, ignoring those extremely frosty ones. :-D

Jessica Cosmetics Spring 2012 Heavy Petal Collection: Witchy Wisteria and Comparison

The vegan potluck tonight was a success! My boss is a vegetarian (used to be vegan) and recommended a great recipe for a chickpea soup. Overall, I was very impressed with the vegan cuisine there!

Does Witchy Wisteria look familiar to you? Well, it should because it's another (semi) dupe of OPI Dutch Ya Just Love OPI? or Zoya Tru. It's a really beautiful grape colored purple with lots of orange/gold shimmer thrown in there. The application was probably the best of the collection and only needed 2 coats. I didn't have time to do a nail comparison, but I have bottle picks to show you.

You may need to enlarge the picture to see the real difference, but you can definitely see that OPI has more shimmer in there. It's weird because I still see a lot of the shimmer on the nail in the Jessica Cosmetics polish despite the appearance of fewer particles. Jessica Cosmetics will also be a bit kinder on your wallet, saving you a dollar from the OPI price.
