Super Black Boss Lady (3 coats)

When I first tried Boss Lady out, I thought it was going to be a glitter topcoat. Boy was I wrong! This one was almost opaque in 2 coats, but I ended up doing 3 just to make sure. It's a gold color with gold and champagne glitter. Gold isn't usually my favorite, but this one definitely applies well and is opaque which is good in my book. 

Super Black Bruiser (2 coats)

I didn't expect Bruiser to be a favorite, but I think it is! It's a medium purple with tons of silver shimmer. The shimmer stands out so much that it almost changes the color of the base. It also had perfect application and formula. 

Super Black Fall Back (2 coats)

And lastly we have Fall Back which is a blackened dark blue jelly with a hint of teal. You guys know me and jellies; they just aren't my thing. That's ok though, because I know this one is pretty awesome. It dries much darker on the nail than the bottle color, but never appears black. Sometimes I can have troubles with jellies being a bit watery, but this one was perfect. 

So what do you think? Will you be picking any of these up? As I said before, I love that there are a variety of colors and finishes in this collection. Super Black Semi Automatic (2 coats)

Semi Automatic is the perfect name for this polish because it is a gunmetal grey metallic polish. I always love deep (or light) grey polishes! This applied wonderfully in 2 easy coats.

Super Black The Perfectionist (2 coats)

What I like about this collection is that you get a little bit of everything. The Perfectionist is a work appropriate pink nude with pink/purple shimmer (you can really see it in the second picture).

I have the final 2 polishes from the HoliGlaze collection and they are both glitter toppers. They don't seem very "holiday-like" to me, so I guess they are supposed to be more for New Year's Eve. First is Be Merry, Be Bright which is a blue/purple and magenta glitter mix that doesn't seem very unique to me. It's fine, but nothing great. Your Present Required is much more exciting and is a multi-colored hexagonal glitter mix. I do wish they had other shapes in there, but beggars can't be choosers. Out of the 2, I would recommend Your Present Required. Both are fairly dense with glitter, but could be better. I used 2 coats so you could really get a sense of the glitters in the polishes. 

Overall, the collection was pretty good. I remember when China Glaze was the brand to go to for the holidays (remember Party Hearty which is still being duped?) and they seem to be going downhill a little bit. Their autumn collection was terrible, and now the holiday collection was "pretty good." I hope they revamp things in 2014 and really blow us away.

Today I have the last 2 polishes from the Super Black fall collection which includes 1 more holographic polish and 1 shimmer. Holy crap, do you see Guilty? This is one of the most beautiful holographic polishes I have ever seen. It is so vibrant and colorful that my pictures don't even do it justice. This would make a perfect stocking stuffer for that lovely lady or guy you know (that can include yourself, don't worry). Guilty is a bright gold holographic polish with a small sticker decal from Essence that I decided to throw on there for fun. The application and formula on all 4 of these polishes were perfect, just to throw that out there. 

The second polish is called 3rd Degree and is the only non-holographic polish in the collection. I feel bad for 3rd Degree; it looks a bit boring compared to the other polishes, but it is still a nice red polish with gold shimmer throughout. If I had my pick, I'd go with the holographic polishes, but there's nothing wrong with 3rd Degree, either. This was my first time trying out Super Black polishes and I was very pleasantly surprised and will be back for more. Have you tried their polishes? What do you think?

Today I have the start of the Super Black handmade lacquer fall collection which featured 3 holographic polishes and one glitter polish. If you don't know anything about Super Black, I would recommend you check out her awesome blog/comics here. When I got an e-mail about being sent polishes, Natalie sent out the funniest e-mail saying how it's her sending stuff and not some weird order going through. Situational humor I suppose. 

Anywhoo, the first holographic polish I have to show is called Spanked and is a deep raspberry/cranberry (pick your fruit) pink color with a strong linear holo finish. Heather is a grape purple holo that seemed to stand out a little more, likely due to it being a darker color. The bottles are just like the old Massini bottles which hold more polish (0.61 fl oz instead of the usual 0.5 fl oz) you get with normal bottles. These will set you back $12, but for more polish and having it be a holographic polish from a small source, I think this is a really good price. They claim you shouldn't wear topcoat because it will dull the holo effect, but I always have to wear topcoat (I dunno, I just have to) and found it didn't dull it at all with my NYC Grand Central Station/Seche Vite topcoat mix I made and have been using.
