Jessica Cosmetics Awakening Spring 2012 Collection: Monarch

Jessica Cosmetics Monarch (2 coats)

Hola! Did you have a good weekend? Mine was fine. I'm really happy I've been able to relax the last few weekends so I am always refreshed for the work week ahead. I dropped by Sally Beauty Supply yesterday to find another 50% clearance item sale and was able to snag a Finger Paints, 2 China Glaze Prisms, and 3 China Glaze Hunger Games polishes for $10.60!

I wore Monarch the weekend I went to Vermont, and I was so happy I did because it went with all the outfits I wore. It's a neutral grey creme that looks great on the nail and is definitely another keeper from the collection. The application was again slightly thick, but manageable.

Awww man I went to Sally's twice this weekend...I dropped about $40 and got a crap load...I mean a TON of polish :) I got 4 of the ChG Prisms, most of the Hunger Games colors, Orly's Dark Shadows Collection and like 10 Finger paints...I am a happy happy camper :)

Surprised that your Sally's sale bin still has so much stuff in it. Ours never seems to have too much to being with. What is there is picked up and over way fast. We never had any of the ChG Prisms in it. Did have a whole lot of the Hunger Games shades which always makes me sad when I picked shades up at full retail and find 'em at the major axed rates when they do hit the close out $. I love this grey. And totally right, it's a shade that goes with anything & never looks too dressy or too 'I am kidding around.' A good Goldilocks shade. I was not going to get the ChG Elephant Walk 'cause trying not to buy much and love the too many I have & tons of untrieds. But when I compared Elephant Walk to the gray I have, discovered mine were all much lighter or way darker into the charcoal/gray-black range. Monarch looks a lot like Elephant Walk. Since I don't have access but via mail for Jessica & I was working off a 15% off on top of my Sally's card discount, EW was coming home with me. It's formula is not at perfect as the red in the Safari collection, but it's really good still. I also will be sporting gray cream a lot this fall/winter I am betting. Surprised to see this deep of gray in a spring collection. But than as said, it works no matter the time of year - but that's me speaking as I don't always cling to just pastel, brights come summer...but that said, it's pretty hard to pull me off going back to my fav fuchsias and magentas in summer.

Glad you got your batteries recharged over the weekend! I have to dig in today in this ongoing massive clean out as discovered I don't have a full garbage can for collection tomorrow yet. Cannot let that chance pass me by.
